Expectations are high that these dogs, if injured, will receive a high level of resuscitative care at the Echelon II and III, where the presence of a trained veterinarian is uncommon. Canines differ in anatomy and physiology in comparison to the injured adult human. Knowledge of key differences will assist the physician in resuscitating and stabilizing injured MWDs prior to transport to veterinary care.
