La personne handicapée est un individu qui occupe une position socialement reconnue comme extérieure, différente voire inférieure par rapport à celle des autres membres de la collectivité. En fait, elle subit un phénomène d'exclusion sociale. Considérant l'ambiguïté et l'indétermination dans lesquelles se trouve placée la question de l'intégration des personnes handicapées " entre inclusion souhaitée et pratiquée et exclusion (mise à l'écart), constatée, rédhibitoire " et à partir de nos expériences d'accompagnement sportif, l'ambition de cet ouvrage est de penser une meilleure approche de différentes notions telles que l'exclusion, le territoire. Cet ouvrage se propose d'établir des constats sur la réalité de l'intégration par le sport, à travers les politiques et les dispositifs mis en place pour favoriser ce phénomène. Ce sont ces aspects particuliers pris en compte dans la loi du 11 février 2005 que nous abordons dans une première partie. La virtualisation des corps aujourd'hui est une nouvelle étape dans la fin du concept de handicap. En devenant hybride, le corps du sujet se libère de la contrainte naturelle en intégrant la communauté des corps métissés. Le concept d'hybride ne se réfère plus au monstre, à l'handicapé, à l'infirme car il intègre le fauteuil, la greffe ou la technologie dans le fonctionnement même du corps. Le schéma corporel de l'hybride constitue une expérience propre, efficace et fonctionnelle qui doit être décrite en première personne afin de comprendre les modifications de l'image du corps, de l'estime de soi, des performances du corps hybride. De nouveaux enjeux se dessinent alors, c'est tout l'enjeu de la deuxième partie de cet ouvrage.

Book excerpt: Defending ethics in sport is vital in order to combat the problems of corruption, violence, drugs, extremism and other forms of discrimination it is currently facing. Sport reflects nothing more and nothing less than the societies in which it takes place. However, if sport is to continue to bring benefits for individuals and societies, it cannot afford to neglect its ethical values or ignore these scourges. The major role of the Council of Europe and the Enlarged Partial Agreement on Sport (EPAS) in addressing the new challenges to sports ethics was confirmed by the 11th Council of Europe Conference of Ministers responsible for Sport, held in Athens on 11 and 12 December 2008. A political impetus was given on 16 June 2010 by the Committee of Ministers, with the adoption of an updated version of the Code of Sports Ethics (Recommendation CM/Rec(2010)9), emphasising the requisite co-ordination between governments and sports organisations. The EPAS prepared the ministerial conference and stepped up its work in an international conference organised with the University of Rennes, which was attended by political leaders, athletes, researchers and officials from the voluntary sector. The key experiences described in the conference and the thoughts that it prompted are described in this publication. All the writers share the concern that the end result should be practical action - particularly in terms of the setting of standards - that falls within the remit of the EPAS and promotes the Council of Europe's core values.

Il faut cependant garder à l'esprit qu'au-delà de ce qui peut apparaitre comme approches discordantes des missionnaires chrétiens en situation coloniale, catholiques, protestants et autres presbytériens semblent avoir été toujours d'accord sur la nature sacrée de leur mission de conversion et de diffusion de la civilisation occidentale en pays de mission. Dommage que les dirigeants camerounais n'aient jamais réussi à s'inspirer de la démarche ci-dessus et à adopter une ligne de conduite un tant soit peu patriotique. Les politiciens postcoloniaux ont constamment fait montre d'un déconcertant opportunisme. Il peut certes leur arriver de solliciter publiquement ou officieusement l'Eglise à travers ses princes locaux pour accompagner les pouvoirs publics dans la résolution des conflits sociopolitiques. Mais par moments, ils n'hésiteront pas à leur rappeler que l'Eglise ne doit pas se mêler de politique. Elle doit se cantonner dans les affaires spirituelles, oubliant l'un des enseignements les plus mémorables de Mgr Ndongmo, à savoir qu' on ne peut pas conduire les hommes au ciel comme si la terre n'existait pas.

The target of a raft of health and social policies, older people are often identified as a specific, and vulnerable, population. At the same time, ageing has become a specialisation in many disciplines - medicine, sociology, psychology, to name but three – and a discipline of its own: gerontology. This book questions the framing of old age by focusing on the relationships between policy making and the production of knowledge. The first part explores how the meeting of scientific expertise and the politics of old age anchors the construction of both individual and collective relationships to the future. Part II brings to light the many ways in which issues relating to ageing can be instrumentalised and ideologised in several public debate arenas. Part III argues that scientific knowledge itself composes with objectivity, bringing ideologies of its own to the table, and looks at how this impacts discourse about ageing.
