Download or read book Post Archean Granitic Rocks written by V. Janoušek and published by Geological Society of London. This book was released on 2020-07-02 with total page 298 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Granites (sensu lato) represent the dominant rock-type forming the upper–middle continental crust but their origin remains a matter of long-standing controversy. The granites may result from fractionation of mantle-derived basaltic magmas, or partial melting of different crustal protoliths at contrasting P–T conditions, either water-fluxed or fluid-absent. Consequently, many different mechanisms have been proposed to explain the compositional variability of granites ranging from whole igneous suites down to mineral scale. This book presents an overview of the state of the art, and envisages future avenues towards a better understanding of granite petrogenesis. Particular emphasis of this Volume is on the following topics: Compositional variability of granitic rocks generated in contrasting geodynamic settings during Proterozoic to Phanerozoic Periods, Main permissible mechanisms producing subduction-related granites, Crustal anatexis of different protoliths, and the role of water in granite petrogenesis, New theoretical and analytical tools available for modelling whole-rock geochemistry, in order to decipher the sources and evolution of granitic suites.

Book Inheritance and Variation of Traits

Download or read book Inheritance and Variation of Traits written by Rose Pemberton and published by The Rosen Publishing Group, Inc. This book was released on 2016-12-15 with total page 24 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: If two dogs have spots, will their offspring have spots, too? Can a tall plant be the offspring of two short plants? This book examines how traits are passed from one generation to the next in a variety of plant and animal species. Readers will also learn about variations in traits and how plants and animals adapt over time for survival. This important elementary science subject is explained in rich detail, and full-color images add depth to the text. STEM concepts addressed in the Next Generation Science Standards are also included.

Book Coefficient of Variation and Machine Learning Applications

Download or read book Coefficient of Variation and Machine Learning Applications written by K. Hima Bindu and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2019-11-20 with total page 103 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Coefficient of Variation (CV) is a unit free index indicating the consistency of the data associated with a real-world process and is simple to mold into computational paradigms. This book provides necessary exposure of computational strategies, properties of CV and extracting the metadata leading to efficient knowledge representation. It also compiles representational and classification strategies based on the CV through illustrative explanations. The potential nature of CV in the context of contemporary Machine Learning strategies and the Big Data paradigms is demonstrated through selected applications. Overall, this book explains statistical parameters and knowledge representation models.

Book Classification of Genetic Variation in Animals

Download or read book Classification of Genetic Variation in Animals written by Dominic Fasso and published by . This book was released on 2015-01-07 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is a compilation of various researches conducted by experts which focus on the genetic variation in animals. It discusses the scale of genetic variation present in animals. The genetic diversity exhibited by molecular markers gets extensive interest because of the utility of this information in breeding and conservation programs. In this theory, molecular markers give important data. The increasing availability of highly sophisticated molecular markers produces a detailed analysis and evaluation of genetic diversity in animals, and recognition of genes influencing reasonably significant qualities. The objective of the book is to offer a glance into the dynamic procedure of genetic variation in animals by presenting the opinion of experts who are engaged in the generation of new initiatives and techniques employed for the assessment of genetic diversity. The book should prove helpful for students and experts in the field of genetic protection.

Book Taxonomy The Classification of Biological Organisms

Download or read book Taxonomy The Classification of Biological Organisms written by Kristi Lew and published by Enslow Publishing, LLC. This book was released on 2018-07-15 with total page 82 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Through simple yet engaging language and detailed images and charts, readers will explore the work of Aristotle, Linnaeus, Darwin, and other well-known, and some not so well-known, figures throughout history who tried to make sense of the natural world, as well as the breakthroughs and technologies that allow scientists to study organisms down to the genetic level. This book supports the Next Generation Science Standards on heredity and biological evolution by helping students understand how mutations lead to genetic variation, which in turn leads to natural selection. In addition, informative sidebars, a bibliography, and a Further Reading section with current books and educational websites will allow inquisitive minds to dive deeper into the evolutionary relationships among organisms.

Book Living Processes Animal Variation and Classification

Download or read book Living Processes Animal Variation and Classification written by Carol Ballard and published by Wayland. This book was released on 2017-03-14 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Find out how our classification system helps us make sense of the natural world. This book explains how our animal classification system works and how scientists use it to identify and group animal species. It explores evolution, mutation and the variation between and within animal species and discusses how and why such variations have occurred. Includes fieldwork investigations that show how to classify animals using various keys and fascinating fact boxes that offer in-depth information on topics such as breeding. An activity project shows students at Key Stage 3 how to classify the birds in their area. The six books in the Living Processes series look at the processes all living organisms must carry out in order to stay alive. From feeding and drinking through to breathing and reproducing, it explores the differing ways in which organisms carry them out.
