Book Summary of Recent Work on Variables Acceptance Sampling with Emphasis on Non normality

Download or read book Summary of Recent Work on Variables Acceptance Sampling with Emphasis on Non normality written by Donald B. Owen and published by . This book was released on 1968 with total page 14 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Acceptance sampling plans based on the normal distribution have been available since 1955 and before. Yet reports of potential users indicate a general lack of enthusiasm for their application. There is the uncertainty of the assumption of the normal distribution, but the difficulties users have encountered are attributable more to the translation from the standardized deviate to proportion defective than with the probabilities involved. Some possible ways of adjusting for this are discussed. Sampling plans for truncated life tests based on the exponential, normal, lognormal, gamma, Weibull, etc., distributions are also available, as are distribution-free life test plans based on increasing or decreasing failure rate distributions. These are extremely useful and further extensions of these ideas are in the offing. For the normal distribution, plans have been devised which control each tail of the distribution to separate levels. These plans are useful in the very common situation where defectiveness measured on the high side has one kind of effect while defectiveness on the low side has another kind of effect. Again questions on the appropriateness of the normality assumption are raised. A discussion of various ways of meeting this assumption is given. (Author).

Book A Variable Acceptance Sampling Plan under Neutrosophic Statistical Interval Method

Download or read book A Variable Acceptance Sampling Plan under Neutrosophic Statistical Interval Method written by Muhammad Aslam and published by Infinite Study. This book was released on with total page 7 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The acceptance sampling plan plays an important role in maintaining the high quality of a product. The variable control chart, using classical statistics, helps in making acceptance or rejection decisions about the submitted lot of the product. Furthermore, the sampling plan, using classical statistics, assumes the complete or determinate information available about a lot of product. However, in some situations, data may be ambiguous, vague, imprecise, and incomplete or indeterminate. In this case, the use of neutrosophic statistics can be applied to guide the experimenters. In this paper, we originally proposed a new variable sampling plan using the neutrosophic interval statistical method.

Book Testing and Inspection Using Acceptance Sampling Plans

Download or read book Testing and Inspection Using Acceptance Sampling Plans written by Muhammad Aslam and published by Springer. This book was released on 2019-07-19 with total page 288 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book introduces a number of new sampling plans, such as time truncated life tests, skip sampling plans, resubmitted plans, mixed sampling plans, sampling plans based on the process capability index and plans for big data, which can be used for testing and inspecting products, from the raw-materials stage to the final product, in every industry using statistical process control techniques. It also presents the statistical theory, methodology and applications of acceptance sampling from truncated life tests. Further, it discusses the latest reliability, quality and risk analysis methods based on acceptance sampling from truncated life, which engineering and statisticians require in order to make decisions, and which are also useful for researchers in the areas of quality control, lifetime analysis, censored data analysis, goodness-of-fit and statistical software applications. In its nine chapters, the book addresses a wide range of testing/inspection sampling schemes for discrete and continuous data collected in various production processes. It includes a chapter on sampling plans for big data and offers several illustrative examples of the procedures presented. Requiring a basic knowledge of probability distributions, inference and estimation, and lifetime and quality analysis, it is a valuable resource for graduate and senior undergraduate engineering students, and practicing engineers, more specifically it is useful for quality engineers, reliability engineers, consultants, black belts, master black belts, students and researchers interested in applying reliability and risk and quality methods.

Book Uncertainty based sampling plans for various statistical distributions

Download or read book Uncertainty based sampling plans for various statistical distributions written by Nasrullah Khan and published by Infinite Study. This book was released on 2023-01-01 with total page 14 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This research work appertains to the acceptance sampling plan under the neutrosophic statistical interval method (ASP-NSIM) based on gamma distribution (GD), Burr type XII distribution (BXIID) and the Birnbaum-Saunders distribution (BSD). The plan parameters will be determined using the neutrosophic non-linear optimization problem. We will provide numerous tables for the three distributions using various values of shape parameters and degree of indeterminacy. The efficiency of the proposed ASP-NSIM will be discussed over the existing sampling plan in terms of sample size. The application of the proposed ASP-NSIM will be given with the aid of industrial data.

The book is organized into four thematic parts, with Part I addressing statistical process control. Part II is devoted to acceptance sampling. Part III covers the design of experiments, while Part IV discusses related fields. The twenty-three papers in this volume stem from The 11th International Workshop on Intelligent Statistical Quality Control, which was held in Sydney, Australia from August 20 to August 23, 2013. The event was hosted by Professor Ross Sparks, CSIRO Mathematics, Informatics and Statistics, North Ryde, Australia and was jointly organized by Professors S. Knoth, W. Schmid and Ross Sparks. The papers presented here were carefully selected and reviewed by the scientific program committee, before being revised and adapted for this volume.

Book Design of Sampling Plan for Exponential Distribution under Neutrosophic Statistical Interval Method

Download or read book Design of Sampling Plan for Exponential Distribution under Neutrosophic Statistical Interval Method written by Muhammad Aslam and published by Infinite Study. This book was released on with total page 9 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The sampling plan using the classical statistics under the exponential distribution can be applied only when there are certainty and clearness and in observations and parameters. But, in practice, it is not necessary that under some circumstances all the observations/parameters are determined. So, we cannot analyze them using the classical statistics which provides results in the determined values.
