Book History of Ancient India Revisited A Vedic Puranic View

Download or read book History of Ancient India Revisited A Vedic Puranic View written by Omesh K. Chopra and published by BlueRose Publishers. This book was released on 2020-03-02 with total page 484 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Vedic-Puranic literature as well as archaeological, geological, historical, linguistic, and literary accounts have been reviewed to establish the various cultures that evolved in ancient India from about 3500 BCE to the Mahabharata War (1450 BCE). The book describes various misconceptions, e.g., the myth about an Aryan invasion. The following markers are used to establish the dates and geographical locations of various cultures: (i) The rise in sea levels due to melting of land-based snow after the last Ice Age. (ii) Migration of the Dravidian people from the lost continent of Kumari Kandam that submerged under the Indian Ocean. (iii) The dates for the start of farming, use of kiln-baked bricks, domestication of horses, and metal working in the Indian subcontinent. (iv) The dates when Sarasvati River dried up and the Mahabharata War occurred. The book notes that asva-containing or rath-containing names could not have existed before horses were domesticated or chariots were in use. The book also notes that Mathura Krsna is different from Dwarka Krsna; the two are separated by more then 1000 years. During Mathura Krsna’s time, conflicts were settled by hand-to-hand combat or with the use of a mace. In contrast, during Dwarka Krsna’s time, metal arms were used.

Book excerpt: About the Book EXAMINING THE DIFFERENT MYTHS AND RITUALS ABOUT LORD VISHNU AND HIS AVATARS, THIS BOOK UNCOVERS THE ANCIENT WISDOM INHERITED OVER GENERATIONS WHICH STILL HOLD RELEVANCE TODAY. For Hindus, Vishnu is God who inspires man to discover humanity by engaging with the world. Artists have visualized him with as curly-haired, dark complexioned man with a smile on his lips and a sparkle in his eyes. Draped in yellow silk, garlanded with forest flowers, bedecked with dolphin-shaped earrings, anointed with sandal paste, he reclines on a thousand-hooded serpent that floats on the ocean of milk and rides a golden hawk bearing in his arms a conch-shell, a wheel, a mace and a lotus. Poets say that when he is awake, the world takes shape; when he is asleep, the world ceases to be. Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth, follows him wherever he goes. To him is made offerings of rich creamy butter. Sometimes, the upright Ram, he is worshipped across India as Balaji, Shreenathji, Jagannath, Ranganath and Badrinath. Locked in the stories, symbols and rituals of Vishnu is the wisdom of the ancestors, transmitted over hundreds of years. This book attempts to unlock seven secrets that are relevant even in modern times.

Download or read book Cause and Effect Philosophy of Existence of Non Existence Tatvabodh of Bhramgyan from Vedant Upanishads written by S. Prakash and published by Notion Press. This book was released on 2023-12-06 with total page 216 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is about “Cause (kaaran) and Effect (karya),” philosophy which says that one event (kaaran) gives rise to something else (the effect). In this book, the author has explained soul (Atma/Atman/Consciousness), God (Ishwar/Bhram/Brahm), world (Jagat/Universe), happiness and sorrow, life and death, bondage and salvation (Moksha), life (Praan), inanimate (Jad) things, self-knowledge and ignorance (avidhya/agyaan), truth (Sat/Eternal Truth) and untruth (Asat), mind (Chitta), senses (Indriyaan) and Jiva through different Darshan Shastra. This short, concise book gives a general idea of Jiva, Jagat, and Brahm. The author has tried his best to explain this concept with different stories so that the core concept can be understood better. This does not claim to cover any course or exam curriculum; it is instead a motivational book. However, it might help build the foundation of students who are studying philosophy and motivate them to do something good for society and carry forward the legacy of THE SANATAN SATYA.
