This book was released on 2021-06-08 with total page 466 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Innovation, in economic activity, in managerial concepts and in engineering design, results from creative activities, entrepreneurial strategies and the business climate. Innovation leads to technological, organizational and commercial changes, due to the relationships between enterprises, public institutions and civil society organizations. These innovation networks create new knowledge and contribute to the dissemination of new socio-economic and technological models, through new production and marketing methods. Innovation Economics, Engineering and Management Handbook 1 is the first of the two volumes that comprise this book. The main objectives across both volumes are to study the innovation processes in todays information and knowledge society; to analyze how links between research and business have intensified; and to discuss the methods by which innovation emerges and is managed by firms, not only from a local perspective but also a global one. The studies presented in these two volumes contribute toward an understanding of the systemic nature of innovations and enable reflection on their potential applications, in order to think about the meaning of growth and prosperity.

Download or read book Socio Economic Approach to Management Treatise written by Henri Savall and published by IAP. This book was released on 2023-05-01 with total page 1100 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The result of half a century of research and experimentation in economics and management, this Treatise is intended for management practitioners. Socio-economic management (SEAM) makes the demands of humanism in professional life and sustainable economic prosperity compatible. It is illustrated with numerous cases from 2,150 companies and organizations from a wide variety of sectors and presents observed and measured results. Most of these chapters are written jointly by managers or executives of companies and organizations, and scholars or consultants involved in the pilot actions. This book is the work of 193 authors, from 16 countries and 4 continents, practitioners or academics in management sciences and management. This reflects the diversity of national and sectoral contexts of SEAM applications. Some chapters situate this concept in relation to the major currents of current thought. Each chapter is preceded by abstracts in French, English and Spanish. The prefaces, signed by Herman Aguinis and Rene Ricol, show the scope of socio-economic theory and management beyond the borders of the company. The book illustrates the international influence (48 countries) of the innovative and robust methods created and developed by the ISEOR team. Socio-economic theory constitutes a "breakthrough innovation", both in terms of its conceptual contribution and the practical methods and tools of its applications. This holistic approach touches on the different functions of the company and its multiple problems. It provides a structured change management method, focused on stimulating Human Potential and on self-financing the development of the company or organization, through the periodic recycling of hidden costs.

This book was released on 2024-08-05 with total page 310 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book Forest Values and Management Preferences of Two Stakeholder Groups in the Foothills Model Forest written by Bonita Lynn McFarlane and published by . This book was released on 1999 with total page 32 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This report provides a descriptive analysis of forest values, attitudes toward forest management, knowledge of basic forest-related facts, and socioeconomic characteristics of two stakeholder groups of the Foothills Model Forest in Alberta: campers and hunters. Data were collected by mail surveys in 1997. Results show that campers and hunters were more bio-centered than human-centered in their forest value orientations. A minority of respondents agreed with attitude statements that reflect successful sustainable forest management in Alberta, a minority agreed with most economic development and timber-oriented forest management objectives, and a majority agreed with most protection-oriented management strategies. A cluster analysis, based on forest values, identified three segments: Bio-centered, Human-centered, and Moderates. The Bio-centered Group differed from the others on socioeconomic characteristics and management preferences. Generally campers and hunters were found to support a holistic approach to natural resource management that considers multiple values, suggesting that a sustainable forest management philosophy is consistent with these stakeholders' values and preferences.

Download or read book Futures written by Carine Dartiguepeyrou and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2023-07-12 with total page 228 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the same way as there are many futures, not just one, there are many ways to conceive and practice foresight. The challenge of the great turning point of our civilization is to free ourselves from our prejudices in order to imagine and build desirable futures. The process is, by nature, ethical and prospective. In a complex, uncertain and geopolitically transforming world, we must be open to the diversity of cultures and the different perceptions of the future. This requires us to reflect on the purpose and means of our societies. Futures proposes different cultural and ethical views on civilizational transformation by offering a rare, transnational panorama of the visions of the future in a European, American and Chinese context. Through numerous examples, this book illustrates how foresight is practiced and what this can achieve in strategic terms.
