Book Molecular Dynamics in the Vacuum Ultraviolet

Download or read book Molecular Dynamics in the Vacuum Ultraviolet written by Paul L. Houston and published by . This book was released on 1989 with total page 8 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The photodissociation of OCS at 222-nm has been examined by using tunable vacuum ultraviolet laser radiation to probe the Carbon monoxide and Sulfur products. Products of both the monomer and polymer dissociation have been identified and characterized, with particular emphasis on vector correlations. The vacuum ultraviolet radiation used to probe the CO and S products is generated by four-wave mixing in magnesium vapor. The photodissociation of OCS at 157 nm and of Carbon dioxide at the same wavelength have also been investigated. Energy transfer between hot hydrogen atoms and CO(v=O, J=O) has been investigated by dissociating Hydrogen sulfide in a molecular beam containing CO and probing the CO product by VUV laser-induced fluorescence. Book Chemical Dynamics In Extreme Environments

Download or read book Chemical Dynamics In Extreme Environments written by Rainer A Dressler and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2001-03-05 with total page 631 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As computing power increases, a growing number of macroscopic phenomena are modeled at the molecular level. Consequently, new requirements are generated for the understanding of molecular dynamics in exotic conditions. This book illustrates the importance of detailed chemical dynamics and the role it plays in the phenomenology of a number of extreme environments. Each chapter addresses one or more extreme environments, outlines the associated chemical mechanisms of relevance, and then covers the leading edge science that elucidates the chemical coupling. The chapters exhibit a balance between theory and experiment, gas phase, solid state, and surface dynamics, and geophysical and technical environments.

Book The Chemical Dynamics and Kinetics of Small Radicals

Download or read book The Chemical Dynamics and Kinetics of Small Radicals written by Ketian Liu and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 1996-01-19 with total page 616 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book highlights recent progress in the chemistry of radicals. Developments include the growing use of lasers to generate radicals, the application of lasers to provide state, angular, polarization, energy and real-time resolution in kinetics and dynamics experiments, the development of theories for handling the reactions of radicals, and the simulation of the reaction dynamics of increasingly larger systems for direct comparison to experimental results. The book emphasizes the increasing interaction between experimental dynamics, kinetics and theory. It is appropriate for chemistry graduate students and researchers about to enter the field. However, the discussions of some topics progress to a more advanced level so that even an expert will find the book useful.

Book Vacuum Ultraviolet Photoionization and Photodissociation of Molecules and Clusters

Download or read book Vacuum Ultraviolet Photoionization and Photodissociation of Molecules and Clusters written by Cheuk-Yiu Ng and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 1991 with total page 590 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This monograph reviews the recent progress in vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) photoionization and photodissociation processes. Photoionization, photoelectron, and fluorescence spectroscopic techniques have played an important role in revealing the photoionization and photodissociation dynamics of molecules in the vacuum ultraviolet region and in providing accurate energetic and spectroscopic information of ions as well as neutral molecules. The book represents the first detailed review of major experimental developments in the studies of single vacuum ultraviolet photon ionization and dissociation processes of gaseous molecules and clusters.

Book Vacuum Ultraviolet Spectroscopy

Download or read book Vacuum Ultraviolet Spectroscopy written by James A. Samson and published by Academic Press. This book was released on 2000-12-21 with total page 317 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Techniques of Vacuum Ultraviolet Spectroscopy was first published in 1967. In the three decades since, the techniques associated with vacuum ultraviolet spectroscopy have been greatly expanded. Originally published as two volumes in the serial "Experimental Methods in the Physical Sciences," Vacuum Ultraviolet Spectroscopy combines in one paperback volume information on the many advances in vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) research. In addition, the book provides students and researchers with concise reviews of the important aspects of designing experiments in the VUV region. This is the only comprehensive treatise describing the use of synchrotron and other light sources for research, along with the new technologies in optical elements, multilayers, mirror coatings, soft x-ray zone plates, VUV detectors, interferometric spectrometers, and subjects such as spectromicroscopy, lithography, and photon-induced fluorescence. Vacuum Ultraviolet Spectroscopy is an ideal handbook both for the beginner and for the experienced researcher in any field requiring the use of VUV radiation. Key Features* Detailed review of synchrotron radiation sources including undulators and wigglers* Comprehensive outline of monochromator design* Concise review of optics theory for multilayers, spectrometers, and zone plates* Information about other important VUV sources such as laser produced plasmas and Electron Beam Ion Trap (EBIT) sources* Applications such as spectromicroscopy, lithography, and fluorescence
