Book Use of Fluorothene in Infrared and Raman Spectroscopy

Download or read book Use of Fluorothene in Infrared and Raman Spectroscopy written by J. S. Kirby-Smith and published by . This book was released on 1949 with total page 8 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The recent development of fluorothene plastic now makes available a new material for absorption and scattering cells of superior chemical resistance. The advantages of this material over the fully fluorinated compound (Teflon) are optical transparency, availability of a chemically resistant sealing wax and the thermoplastic properties of the material which allow it to be welded. Raman and infrared spectra of many fluorine compounds that have been impossible to handle in the past may now be successfully studied.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Practical Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy: Industrial and Laboratory Chemical Analysis presents the Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR) as a valuable analytic tool in solving industrial and laboratory chemical problems. The text provides chapters that deal with the various applications of FT-IR such as the characterization of organic and inorganic superconductors; the study of forensic materials such as controlled drug particles, fragments of polymers, textile fibers, and explosives; identification and quantification of impurities and measurement of epitaxial thickness in silicon; bulk and surface studies and microanalyses of industrial materials; and the identification or determination of unknown compounds. Chemists, industrial researchers, and product engineers will find the book useful.

Book Handbook of Fourier Transform Raman and Infrared Spectra of Polymers

Download or read book Handbook of Fourier Transform Raman and Infrared Spectra of Polymers written by A.H. Kuptsov and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 1998-10-29 with total page 571 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A collection of infrared and Raman spectra of 500 natural and synthetic polymers of industrial importance is presented in this book. A large variety of compounds are included, starting with linear polyolefins and finishing with complex biopolymers and related compounds. The spectra were registered using Infrared Fourier Transform Spectrometers in the laboratory of the All-Russia Institute of Forensic Sciences. The IR and Raman spectra are presented together on the same sheet. The accompanying data include general and structure formulae, CAS register numbers, and sample preparation conditions. Features of this book: • Continues the long tradition of publishing specific and standard data of new chemical compounds. • For low-molecular weight substances, complementary IR and Raman spectra are featured on the same sample and printed on the same page. This "fingerprint" data allows the substance of the sample to be identified without doubt. • An important feature of this unique collection of data is the increase in the identification precision of unknown substances. • Peak tables are available in digital (ASCII) format, on a diskette delivered with the book. This allows the user to search for unknowns. • All the spectra in the collection are base-line corrected. This book will be of interest to scientists involved in the synthesis of new polymeric materials, polymer identification, and quality control. Libraries of scientific institutes, research centers, and universities involved in vibrational spectroscopy will also find this collection invaluable.

Book Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy

Download or read book Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy written by T. Theophanides and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 192 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume is a collection of contributions to the FT-IR Workshop held under the auspices of the Spectroscopy Society of Canada and organ ized by Professor Theophile Theophanides, Director of the Workshop. The gathering of leading spectroscopists and researchers at Gray Rocks to discuss .Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy was the occasion of the 29th Annual Conference of the Spectroscopy Society of Canada. The plea sant surroundings of Gray Rocks, St-Jovite, Quebec, Canada contributed most positively to the success of the two-day Workshop held September 30, October 1, 1982. The preliminary program and the proceedings were distributed at the Workshop by Multiscience Publications Ltd. The publication of this volume provides the occasion to thank all the contributors for kindly accepting to lecture at the Workshop and for their collaboration. I thank Mr. AI. Dufresne for accepting to act as manager of the Workshop and Mrs. Susane Dufresne secretary of the Work shop for patiently contacting all the participants and for making the necessary arrangements of registration and accomodation.

Book Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometry

Download or read book Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometry written by Peter R. Griffiths and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2007-03-16 with total page 556 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A bestselling classic reference, now expanded and updated to cover the latest instrumentation, methods, and applications The Second Edition of Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometry brings this core reference up to date on the uses of FT-IR spectrometers today. The book starts with an in-depth description of the theory and current instrumentation of FT-IR spectrometry, with full chapters devoted to signal-to-noise ratio and photometric accuracy. Many diverse types of sampling techniques and data processing routines, most of which can be performed on even the less expensive instruments, are then described. Extensively updated, the Second Edition: * Discusses improvements in optical components * Features a full chapter on FT Raman Spectrometry * Contains new chapters that focus on different ways of measuring spectra by FT-IR spectrometry, including fourteen chapters on such techniques as microspectroscopy, internal and external reflection, and emission and photoacoustic spectrometry * Includes a new chapter introducing the theory of vibrational spectrometry * Organizes material according to sampling techniques Designed to help practitioners using FT-IR capitalize on the plethora of techniques for modern FT-IR spectrometry and plan their experimental procedures correctly, this is a practical, hands-on reference for chemists and analysts. It's also a great resource for students who need to understand the theory, instrumentation, and applications of FT-IR.

Book Analytical Applications of FT IR to Molecular and Biological Systems

Download or read book Analytical Applications of FT IR to Molecular and Biological Systems written by J.R. Durig and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 605 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the past few years it has become apparent that Fourier Trans form infrared spectroscopy is developing into an excellent technique for solving some of the very difficult problems encountered in analytical chemistry. The applications of FT-IR include the detec tion and identification of chemical components separated by gas chromatography techniques, determination of low concentration com ponents in a mixture, and problems which have energy limitations such as water samples, opaque samples and biological systems. The lectures presented in this volume will be utilized at the NATO Advanced Study Institute in Florence, Italy from August 31 to September 12, 1980. These lectures are divided into three main sections: Instrumentation and Theory, Techniques, and Applications. The first section includes a basic introduction to interferometry and the operating parameters. The Techniques section consists of several lectures on accessories used in FT-IR, software and data systems, and special handling techniqucs. The third section con tains an abundance of information on the applications of the FT-IR technique to inorganic and organic molecules, polymers, biological systems, solids and to the determination of molecular structures and conformational analyses. The contents of this volume should provide the reader with the present applications in this field as well as an indication of possible future trends. In gcneral the lectures are of a pedagogical nature and are not to be considered as review articles.
