Book Three dimensional Inviscid Flow about Supersonic Blunt Cones at Angle of Attack

Download or read book Three dimensional Inviscid Flow about Supersonic Blunt Cones at Angle of Attack written by M. J. Abbett and published by . This book was released on 1968 with total page 126 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The solution for the steady three-dimensional inviscid flow about supersonic blunt cones at angle of attack is obtained by coupling a direct time-dependent solution for the subsonic portion of the shock layer with steady state numerical afterbody solution. An outline is given covering the coupling scheme and the use of the resulting Fortran computer code.

Book Three dimensional Inviscid Flow about Supersonic Blunt Cones at Angle of Attack

Download or read book Three dimensional Inviscid Flow about Supersonic Blunt Cones at Angle of Attack written by G. Moretti and published by . This book was released on 1968 with total page 36 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Comparisons are made between the cylindrical and polar coordinate system used in determining the three-dimensional shock layer flow over the nose region of a blunted supersonic vehicle. Jusfification for the development of a polar coordinate system is given and an outline for such development is presented. Results from the polar coordinate system are given as is the limiting useful range.

Book Tables for Supersonic Flow of Helium Around Right Circular Cones at Zero Angle of Attack

Download or read book Tables for Supersonic Flow of Helium Around Right Circular Cones at Zero Angle of Attack written by Joseph L. Sims and published by . This book was released on 1973 with total page 38 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The results of the calculation of supersonic flow of helium about right circular cones at zero angle of attack are presented in tabular form. The calculations were performed using the Taylor-Maccoll theory. Numerical integrations were performed using a Runge-Kutta method for second-order differential equations. Results were obtained for cone angles from 2.5 to 30 degrees in regular increments of 2.5 degrees. In all calculations the desired free-stream Mach number was obtained to five or more significant figures.

Book Calculation of Linearized Supersonic Flow Over Slender Cones of Arbitrary Cross Section

Download or read book Calculation of Linearized Supersonic Flow Over Slender Cones of Arbitrary Cross Section written by Vincent Robert Mascitti and published by . This book was released on 1972 with total page 52 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Supersonic linearized conical-flow theory is used to determine the flow over slender pointed cones having horizontal and vertical planes of symmetry. The geometry of the cone cross sections and surface velocities are expanded in Fourier series. The symmetry condition permits the uncoupling of lifting and nonlifting solutions. The present method reduces to Ward's theory for flow over a cone of elliptic cross section. Results are also presented for other shapes. Results by this method diverge for cross-sectional shapes where the maximum thickness is large compared with the minimum thickness. However, even for these slender-body shapes, lower order solutions are good approximations to the complete solution.

Book Influence of the Laminar Boundary Layer in the Flow Past a Thin Blunted Cone at High Supersonic Velocities

Download or read book Influence of the Laminar Boundary Layer in the Flow Past a Thin Blunted Cone at High Supersonic Velocities written by I. N. Murzinov and published by . This book was released on 1966 with total page 9 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the flight of thin blunted bodies in the atmosphere at great altitudes, an influence on the distribution of the pressure over the generatrices is exerted by the blunting and also by the thickened boundary layer. This influence is examined by the method of small disturbances with high flight Mach numbers.
