Book Universal Cycle Theory

Download or read book Universal Cycle Theory written by Stephen J. Puetz and published by . This book was released on 2011 with total page 626 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: These simple statements hold huge implications about how the universe must operate if it was truly infinite rather than finite, as is commonly thought. In one sense, this book, Universal Cycle Theory, may seem radical because it postulates that the universe operates in ways that are dramatically different from what we are taught. Yet, this new theory is conventional in the sense that it closely conforms to virtually all existing laws, equations, and observations. There are only two elements that make the Universal Cycle Theory radical cycles and infinity. Other than that, much of what you read in this book will seem familiar and conventional. Cycles are crucial because they are reflections of how matter behaves in an infinite universe: as vortices and waves. A vortex forms when matter rotates, producing circular cycles. A wave forms when colliding matter compresses and decompresses, producing linear cycles. Infinity is crucial because it explains the extent and structure of the universe. We assume that matter is infinitely divisible in the microscopic direction and infinitely integrable in the macroscopic direction. We assume that time was infinite in the past and will be infinite in the future. This concept of infinity is unique, having never been employed in a model of the universe before. It resolves many of the paradoxes and contradictions currently riddling physics and cosmology.

Book The Unified Cycle Theory

Download or read book The Unified Cycle Theory written by Stephen J. Puetz and published by . This book was released on 2009 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We are an integral part of this giant universe. As energies are released in space, they create measurable impacts on galaxies and solar systems as well as on our small planet. Cycles upon cycles of energy impact our lives, and although we may not be able to see them, they do affect us. They cause us to react in ways that, for millennia, influenced the course of our history, economics, and even our psychology. When author Steve Puetz worked as a market analyst, he became interested in cyclic analysis and began a search for a plausible explanation of cyclic behavior in the markets. As the database grew and his research progressed, he began to see that all cycles-whether financial, sociological, gravitational, geomagnetic, or geophysical-had a correlation, and from this realization evolved the Unified Cycle Theory. The Unified Cycle Theory not only organizes, unifies, explains, and clarifies the many cycles already discovered by a variety of scientists, researchers, and analysts, but is one that also predicts important turning points in mankinds social and economic future. Most surprisingly of all, it has uncovered a set of cycles that come from a mysterious source.

Book Crisis and Opportunity

Download or read book Crisis and Opportunity written by John E. Ikerd and published by U of Nebraska Press. This book was released on 2008 with total page 342 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: With the decline of family farms and rural communities and the rise of corporate farming and the resulting environmental degradation, American agriculture is in crisis. But this crisis offers the opportunity to rethink agriculture in sustainable terms. Here one of the most eloquent and influential proponents of sustainable agriculture explains what this means. These engaging essays describe what sustainable agriculture is, why it began, and how it can succeed. Together they constitute a clear and compelling vision for rebalancing the ecological, economic, and social dimensions of agriculture to meet the needs of the present without compromising the future. In Crisis and Opportunity, John E. Ikerd outlines the consequences of agricultural industrialization, then details the methods that can restore economic viability, ecological soundness, and social responsibility to our agricultural system and thus ensure sustainable agriculture as the foundation of a sustainable food system and a sustainable society.

Download or read book Cycles of Time written by Roger Penrose and published by Vintage. This book was released on 2011-09-06 with total page 307 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: From Nobel prize-winner Roger Penrose, this groundbreaking book is for anyone "who is interested in the world, how it works, and how it got here" (New York Journal of Books). Penrose presents a new perspective on three of cosmology’s essential questions: What came before the Big Bang? What is the source of order in our universe? And what cosmic future awaits us? He shows how the expected fate of our ever-accelerating and expanding universe—heat death or ultimate entropy—can actually be reinterpreted as the conditions that will begin a new “Big Bang.” He details the basic principles beneath our universe, explaining various standard and non-standard cosmological models, the fundamental role of the cosmic microwave background, the paramount significance of black holes, and other basic building blocks of contemporary physics. Intellectually thrilling and widely accessible, Cycles of Time is a welcome new contribution to our understanding of the universe from one of our greatest mathematicians and thinkers.

Book Living at Nature s Pace

Download or read book Living at Nature s Pace written by Gene Logsdon and published by Chelsea Green Publishing. This book was released on 2000-02-01 with total page 274 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For decades, Logsdon and his family have run a viable family farm. Along the way, he has become a widely influential journalist and social critic, documenting in hundreds of essays for national and regional magazines the crisis in conventional agri-business and the boundless potential for new forms of farming that reconcile tradition with ecology. Logsdon reminds us that healthy and economical agriculture must work "at nature's pace," instead of trying to impose an industrial order on the natural world. Foreseeing a future with "more farmers, not fewer," he looks for workable models among the Amish, among his lifelong neighbors in Ohio, and among resourceful urban gardeners and a new generation of defiantly unorthodox organic growers creating an innovative farmers-market economy in every region of the country. Nature knows how to grow plants and raise animals; it is human beings who are in danger of losing this age-old expertise, substituting chemical additives and artificial technologies for the traditional virtues of fertility, artistry, and knowledge of natural processes. This new edition of Logsdon's important collection of essays and articles (first published by Pantheon in 1993) contains six new chapters taking stock of American farm life at this turn of the century.

Book Exotic Visions in Marketing Theory and Practice

Download or read book Exotic Visions in Marketing Theory and Practice written by Alf H. Walle and published by Bloomsbury Publishing USA. This book was released on 2001-12-30 with total page 262 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An anthropologist, folklorist, and literary critic besides being a marketing professor, Alf H. Walle takes a refreshingly interdisciplinary look at the impact of modern social thought upon marketing and social research. Tracing key ideas back to their intellectual roots, Walle shows how the evolution of social theory, and the controversies it has engendered, can and should transform the way marketers approach consumers. He provides a theoretic underpinning for qualitative consumer research and presents a lucid theoretical and methodological overview for qualitative methods in marketing, research that parallels what others, such as Shelby Hunt, have provided for scientific methods in marketing. His book is a provocative, thoughtful, and probing study of qualitative social theory and its important contributions to marketing and consumer research. It is of value to both practitioners and academics. Arguing that the social structural methods have been largely ignored, Walle rehabilitates this general method and compares it to poststructural alternatives. Walle shows that to understand the evolution of modern social theory, one must come to grips with the work of three towering pioneers: Immanuel Kant, Friedrich Hegel, and Karl Marx, and that researchers must understand and appreciate the contributions and influence of pioneers in order to avoid the myopic vision of our own time. Praising Hegel's metaphor of cultures as living organisms and his forging of the concept we now call National Character, Walle points to Hegel as the pioneering social structuralist and as the man who, as a negative example, inspired the poststructuralists to action. Walle ends with a well reasoned analysis of poststructural thought in marketing-consumer research, and suggests that conflict theory--an alternative to poststructural methods that evolved from social structural roots--is often more appropriate than poststructural analysis in marketing and consumer research. Relating both conflict theory and poststructural analysis to the actual needs of marketing consumer researchers, Exotic Visions in Marketing Theory and Practice provides unique, practical insights for those who teach market research as well as practitioners who pursue it for a living.

Book 19th Natural Philosophy Alliance Proceedings

Download or read book 19th Natural Philosophy Alliance Proceedings written by Greg Volk and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2012-07-14 with total page 686 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Natural Philosophy Alliance (NPA) sponsors regular international conferences for presenting high-quality papers discussing aspects of philosophy in the sciences. Many papers offer challenges to accepted orthodoxy in the sciences, especially in physics. Everything from the micro-physics of quantum mechanics to the macro-physics of cosmology is entertained.Though the main interest of the NPA is in challenging orthodoxy in the sciences, it will also feature papers defending such orthodoxy. Our ultimate propose is to enable participants to articulate their own understanding of the truth. All papers are reviewed by society officers, and sometimes by other members, before presentation in conferences and they are edit, sometimes very significantly prior to publication in the Proceedings of the NPA.
