This book was released on 2013-01-21 with total page 382 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book Journal of Fourier Analysis and Applications Special Issue written by John J. Benedetto and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2020-03-10 with total page 668 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Journal of Fourier Analysis and Applications is a journal of the mathematical sciences devoted to Fourier analysis and its applications. The subject of Fourier analysis has had a major impact on the development of mathematics, on the understanding of many engineering and scientific phenomena, and on the solution of some of the most important problems in mathematics and the sciences. At the end of June 1993, a large Conference in Harmonic Analysis was held at the University of Paris-Sud at Orsay to celebrate the prominent role played by Jean-Pierre Kahane and his numerous achievements in this field. The large variety of topics discussed in this meeting, ranging from classical Harmonic Analysis to Probability Theory, reflects the intense mathematical curiosity and the broad mathematical interest of Jean-Pierre Kahane. Indeed, all of them are connected to his work. The mornings were devoted to plenary addresses while up to four parallel sessions took place in the afternoons. Altogether, there were about eighty speakers. This wide range of subjects appears in these proceedings which include thirty six articles.
Download or read book Alg bre lin aire dans Rn th orie algorithmes et complexit written by HADDADI Salim and published by Lavoisier. This book was released on 2012-09-24 with total page 306 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book Algebraic Topology written by J. F. Adams and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 1972-04-27 with total page 309 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This set of notes, for graduate students who are specializing in algebraic topology, adopts a novel approach to the teaching of the subject. It begins with a survey of the most beneficial areas for study, with recommendations regarding the best written accounts of each topic. Because a number of the sources are rather inaccessible to students, the second part of the book comprises a collection of some of these classic expositions, from journals, lecture notes, theses and conference proceedings. They are connected by short explanatory passages written by Professor Adams, whose own contributions to this branch of mathematics are represented in the reprinted articles.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume presents the proceedings of a conference on Harmonic Analysis and Number Theory held at McGill University (Montreal) in April 1996. The papers are dedicated to the memory of Carl Herz, who had deep interests in both harmonic analysis and number theory. These two disciplines have a symbiotic relationship that is reflected in the papers in this book.

Download or read book Number Theory Analysis and Geometry written by Dorian Goldfeld and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2011-12-21 with total page 715 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Serge Lang was an iconic figure in mathematics, both for his own important work and for the indelible impact he left on the field of mathematics, on his students, and on his colleagues. Over the course of his career, Lang traversed a tremendous amount of mathematical ground. As he moved from subject to subject, he found analogies that led to important questions in such areas as number theory, arithmetic geometry, and the theory of negatively curved spaces. Lang's conjectures will keep many mathematicians occupied far into the future. In the spirit of Lang’s vast contribution to mathematics, this memorial volume contains articles by prominent mathematicians in a variety of areas of the field, namely Number Theory, Analysis, and Geometry, representing Lang’s own breadth of interest and impact. A special introduction by John Tate includes a brief and fascinating account of the Serge Lang’s life. This volume's group of 6 editors are also highly prominent mathematicians and were close to Serge Lang, both academically and personally. The volume is suitable to research mathematicians in the areas of Number Theory, Analysis, and Geometry.

Download or read book Automorphic Forms and Galois Representations Volume 1 written by Fred Diamond and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 2014-10-16 with total page 385 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Automorphic forms and Galois representations have played a central role in the development of modern number theory, with the former coming to prominence via the celebrated Langlands program and Wiles' proof of Fermat's Last Theorem. This two-volume collection arose from the 94th LMS-EPSRC Durham Symposium on 'Automorphic Forms and Galois Representations' in July 2011, the aim of which was to explore recent developments in this area. The expository articles and research papers across the two volumes reflect recent interest in p-adic methods in number theory and representation theory, as well as recent progress on topics from anabelian geometry to p-adic Hodge theory and the Langlands program. The topics covered in volume one include the Shafarevich Conjecture, effective local Langlands correspondence, p-adic L-functions, the fundamental lemma, and other topics of contemporary interest.
