Book excerpt: The pernicious teaching of evolution in our schools and colleges, and the higher criticism of our modern pulpits, are responsible for the fatal drift from the avowed faith of our forefathers. This alarming condition calls for new methods of presentation of the truths of God's Written Word.Experience has demonstrated the wisdom of teaching the fundamentals from the biological standpoint, thereby counteracting in a logical, convincing manner the destructive work of infidel teachers, and saving the young from their subtle snares. The desirability of presenting these vital truths in a comprehensive manner, with due regard to the unity and correlation of subjects, has also been considered in the preparation of this course of Bible Study; but the treatment of the various subjects does not claim to be exhaustive.Further study of each subject will repay the Bible student and is strongly advised.Suggestions in reference to such study will be found throughout this course. It will be observed throughout these studies, that Eternal Life is presented from the biological standpoint instead of the etymological. While the best authorities agree that aionios may be used with reference to the past as well as to the future, yet this word does not clearly reveal the nature of the Life that is bestowed at the instant of regeneration. The term Uncreated Life actually defines the Life of God in Christ Jesus, that is shared by the believer. A careful reading of John 1:1 and 1 John 1:1-2 corroborates this statement by declaring Eternal Life to be the Uncreated Word who was with God the Father, and who was God.

Book excerpt: The main reason people don't act like Jesus is because they don't think like Jesus. Discover the seven core questions that Christians must be able to answer biblically in order to live a transformed life. The latest data from researcher George Barna’s polls across America shows that we are confused by the issues that confront us today. We find ourselves wrestling with what is right and wrong. Some of us cut ethical corners and don’t even know it. We often base our actions on what feels right or keeps people happy rather than on what is best or true. All because, Barna concludes, we lack an active, clear belief system based on solid, scriptural principles. Now more than ever, we need a way of life that brings us clarity in chaos, peace in the problems, and boldness in the bad times. We need a new way of seeing—a biblical perspective that guides our every thought and action. What is a biblical perspective on life? To put it simply, Barna says, it is a "way of dealing with the world so that we act like Jesus, twenty-four hours a day, because we think like Jesus. It’s like wearing a pair of eyeglasses that enable us to see things differently, to see things from God’s point of view, and to respond to these perceptions in the way He prescribes.” Think Like Jesus: Uncovers the seven core beliefs of Christianity necessary for developing a strong Christian worldview Provides a firm explanation of why Christians believe what we believe Includes detailed statistics and polls on where Americans agree with the Bible on key topics Exposes causes of concern in modern Christianity through the misalignment of key beliefs Would you like to simplify your life, shore up your moral foundations, and strengthen your Christian witness? Think Like Jesus can help you chart a path that will allow you to make a difference for eternity in your home, your job, your church, and your community.

Download or read book The History of Redemption written by Richard Samuel Collins and published by Independently Published. This book was released on 2017-01-23 with total page 160 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: If I were to ask you about the history of redemption, you would most likely begin by thinking back to the cross and what was accomplished there by Christ From there, you would then move forward. However, in God's mind or from His perspective it began before the foundation of the world. Ephesians 1:4 says, "...even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him in love..." Before Genesis 1, God had the plan of redemption already formulated. This means that God planned this in eternity past. Before "in the beginning," God existed and planned our redemption. So when God was all that there was, the history of redemption began. That may be hard for us to fathom because we cannot think in terms of eternity. Unlike God, we are constrained by time. The fact remains that God planned our redemption through His Son Jesus Christ before the world was even created. It was not a second option; it was the original plan from the start. We may not understand it all, but we can gain glimpses of it throughout the revealed Word of God, which is itself a "story of redemption that spans from creation to re-creation" (i.e., Genesis 1-2 to Revelation 21-22). Some of you may already be jumping ahead of me and asking, "Why would God create the world if He knew that one day He would have to redeem it? Could He not foresee what would go wrong and prevent that from happening so that creation would remain 'good' and not need to be redeemed?" Those questions are very important. In our study of the history of redemption, these questions will only be dealt with briefly, and they will have to wait until later. There is no need to get ahead of ourselves just yet. But to satisfy the question for the time being, I will give you the main reason, which will be the only reason addressed in this particular study, that God chose to create a world that He knew would fall into sin and need to be redeemed from it. It is for His glory, and I hope as we progress in our study that you will see how that statement is definitely true. The study of the history of redemption has interested me for a long time now. I have preached on the subject as an overview and taught on it in detail. But I wanted more. I wanted to go even more in depth on this subject, and that is what I intend to do here. Before we begin, I want to explain what we will be doing. We are not going to cover every aspect of redemption in Scripture, because that would cover the whole Bible. For instance, the Book of Hosea is full of rich illustrations of redemption, but we will not cover it in this study. So this is not an all-inclusive look at redemption; it is a study of the highlights. It would take a volume much larger than this, probably multiple volumes, to truly give the history of redemption the study it deserves. We will start with the creation account. Since God's plan came to fruition before the foundation of the world, then it makes sense that we start at the creation event in our study of the history of redemption. We will end with Christ, who is the completion of God's plan for redemption. I hope you enjoy this study, and I pray that God uses it to draw you closer to Him.

Book Creation from the Lens of redemption

Download or read book Creation from the Lens of redemption written by Lee Kah Wor and published by Lee Kah Wor. This book was released on 2021-01-04 with total page 72 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The redemption plan preceded creation. It is stated in Isaiah 46:10 that God declares the end from the beginning. God has declared our victory in Christ Jesus at the end of the Bible as recorded in Revelation 22:3-5. We know that this victory has been wrought by Christ crucified. In other words, God has already declared our victory in Christ Jesus right from the very outset. The record of the beginning of all things is not to be read in a linear or chronological fashion. We have to bear in mind that God has declared the end from the beginning. In other words, there are nuggets of redemption truth that can be unearthed when we read the account of beginnings as prophetic in nature. Our loving Father God would not have proceeded with creation if He did not first put in place the redemption plan. It speaks of God's omniscience. Nothing catches Him by surprise. Redemption was a forethought and not an afterthought. The redemption plan that will give us the victory in the end has been declared right from the beginning. This book was written to substantiate the notion with scriptural backing. In the process, we will get to see Jesus, our Redeemer, hidden in the very beginning of the Holy Bible.

Book God s Plan for all Mankind

Download or read book God s Plan for all Mankind written by Louis Brent Roberts and published by Gatekeeper Press. This book was released on 2021-06-12 with total page 42 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This first eBook will go a long way to giving us a better understanding of where we came from and of what we already pretty much know by instinct. That is, we have been given life by a supreme creator. We know the three pillars of eternity are: the creation, the fall of Adam and Eve and the atonement of Jesus Christ. We will learn of the creation, the fall, the location of the garden of Eden and the atonement of Jesus Christ for all. All are born into this life with the spirit or the light of Christ in them. It follows then that if we but follow and listen to that spirit it will lead us back to Christ. All are loved by Him and it is His work and glory to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of all mankind. It is the object and purpose of this series of eBooks to add to our knowledge of the life of Jesus Christ. We are told that a man can be saved no faster than he gains knowledge of Jesus Christ, His commandments and lives them. When the Lord speaks of being saved, He means to be worthy of returning to and living with Him. The natural man within us all, is an enemy to God and wants to move us away from this light of Christ. Satan is real and his influence on us is strong. We must seek out true knowledge from all who know truths and learn from them. God has a plan and He told and taught us about this plan in a pre-existent time before we were born. We used our eternal agency to decide if we wanted to believe and follow Him or not, in that pre-existent time. All who used that agency and chose to follow the plan were chosen to be born on this earth and receive a mortal body. Those who chose to not accept were denied a mortal body and were cast out. We will learn more about all of this as we go along. This first eBook “The Pre-existence” is to give us a better understanding of where we came from and the overall plan that has been established by God to allow us to be tested and move us ever closer to our goal of exaltation.

Book The Paradigm of the Kingdom of God

Download or read book The Paradigm of the Kingdom of God written by Dan Westerfield and published by Covenant Books, Inc.. This book was released on 2023-04-11 with total page 491 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Paradigm of the Kingdom of God This book traces redemptive history, from the Garden of Eden to the New Heaven and Earth, through the paradigm of the kingdom of God. Jesus Christ's saving work is the supreme event in all history, but it takes place within the context of the kingdom. When we follow God's plan of salvation through the kingdom's progress, the events unfold like an immense novel because we see God's divine providence revealed through both biblical and secular accounts. God initiates the kingdom paradigm when he tells Adam and Eve to be "fruitful and multiply . . . and rule" (Gen. 1:28). This is a mandate to establish God's righteous kingdom on the earth, and it is repeated to Noah and then Israel. But the story of the Old Testament is that Adam and Eve, Noah and his family, and Israel, all sin and rebel and cannot establish God's kingdom. The New Testament tells us about Jesus Christ, the Son of God, coming to earth to become one of us. He begins His ministry by proclaiming, "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel" (Mark 1:15). Jesus begins to fulfill the kingdom mandate. He is fruitful and multiplies through spiritual children. And Jesus begins to rule: He teaches, casts out demons, calms storms, heals the sick, raises the dead, and feeds the hungry. He establishes a kingdom of His faithful followers. But Jesus must also die for their sins, and rise again, so that they can be declared righteous, fit for God's kingdom. After Jesus ascends to heaven and establishes the Church, the kingdom advances through the Church's ministry. Understanding redemptive history through the kingdom paradigm differs from the long standing interpretations of Dispensationalism and Covenantalism. These views are considered in this book, but the focus is on how the kingdom is central to God's design for history. Following its progress helps us see our location and roles in the fulfillment of God's divine plan. This can inform our faith and increase Church unity as we glorify God through His amazing plan of redemption.
