Book Understanding the Kingdom Message A Journey to Rediscover the Singular Message of Jesus Foreword by Wolfgang Simson

Download or read book Understanding the Kingdom Message A Journey to Rediscover the Singular Message of Jesus Foreword by Wolfgang Simson written by Temidayo Adeyemo and published by Niu Nation Publishers. This book was released on 2021-03-09 with total page 238 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book chronicles the writer's personal rediscovery on the subject of the Kingdom of God over a 12-year period. It starts by pointing out the Kingdom as the central theme of the entire Bible. It then probes quite intensely Matthew 24:14 which then throws up some thought-provoking insights especially in relation to how the Gospel is a unifier of the two great divides: The Jews and the Gentiles. Furthermore, it goes into much details, using contemporary scenarios, to explain what the Gospel of the Kingdom is as well as the non-negotiable requirements for becoming a citizen of the glorious Kingdom which the Gospel heralds. Its objective is to revolutionize the reader's understanding of the subject and subsequently usher them into an entirely new experience in their journey of possessing the Kingdom. Be assured, this is a must-read for every serious-minded student of the Bible and follower of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We are not only members of the Church, but also of the Kingdom of God. When Jesus came, He told us that the Kingdom of God was at hand, upon us, and is coming. If He made so many references to the Kingdom of God, it is then our responsibility to learn how to live in the Kingdom of God. It is the only way we can prosper and live in victory; for the Scriptures say that our citizenship is in heaven (Philippians 3:20). In this publication, we will explore five foundational concepts concerning the Christian life as citizens of God’s kingdom. In understanding these concepts, one will live a successful life on the Christian journey.

Book The Kingdom of God

Download or read book The Kingdom of God written by John Fuellenbach and published by . This book was released on 1995 with total page 360 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "The fruit of many decades of study and teaching, The Kingdom of God provides an impressive, systematic treatment of the doctrine of the Kingdom of God. It is a comprehensive review of this crucial symbol, as well as a careful analysis of its meaning, and a creative intepretation of the Kingdom motif for the church and Christians in our age. The Kingdom of God begins by analyzing the background of this idea in Hebrew scripture and tradition, and in the preaching of Jesus. Fuellenbach explores how this elusive phrase presents a specific, comprehensive view of reality, and a goal for transforming the world. In Fuellenbach's reading, the Kingdom forms the core of Christian faith and the reference point of all theology, spirituality, and apostolic activity. Fuellenbach pays special attention to the relationships among Kingdom, Church, and World, arguing that with the Kingdom, Jesus proclaimed a vision that embraces God, humankind, and the whole of creation in the single most comprehensive vision of reality imaginable. The Kingdom of God is balanced and nuanced in its scholarship, but also vigorous and courageous in taking positions sure to provoke debate. For example, Fuellenbach argues that the word 'Kingdom' is to be preferred over the word 'Reign', despite critiques that find the word problematic in its patriarchial connotations. Designed for and tested in classrooms worldwide, The Kingdom of God will be particularly useful in both scripture and theology courses. It holds much food for thought for religious educators, pastoral workers, clergy and others who wish a clear, systematic understanding of Jesus' vision of the Kingdom now and to come"--Page 4 of cover

Book It s All About The Kingdom Volume One

Download or read book It s All About The Kingdom Volume One written by Rev. Larry A. Brookins and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2010 with total page 115 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This Book embodies the expectations and aspirations of 'Kingdom people' as expounded in a series of 10 sermons, through which the inspiration of the Holy Spirit conveyed unto me to share with you. The topics are: Kingdom Commitment, Kingdom Greatness, Kingdom Priorities, Kingdom Investments, Kingdom Focus, Kingdom Economics, Kingdom Purpose, Kingdom Attitudes, Kingdom Characteristics and Kingdom Privilege. Throughout the teachings of New Testament Scripture the theme of the Kingdom is central. John the Baptist preached the Kingdom and Jesus Himself commenced His earthly ministry on the same topic: "Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand" (Matt 4:17). At a matter of fact, at the heart of Jesus' commandments for His followers is the decree of Matthew 6:33, "But seek ye first the Kingdom of God." As disciples of Christ, we are encouraged to walk in the footsteps of Jesus (1 Peter 2:2 & 1 John 2:6) and to take on the very mindset of Christ (Philippians 2:5). In this we are called "Christians," and in this, we showcase to the world from generation to generation that "It's all about the Kingdom!"

There are few dreams more spiritually intoxicating than the dream of being used by God to start a new community of Christ that skillfully brings the restorative gospel to a lost and broken city. Something which feels like a spiritual landslide that starts with lostness and ends in an avalanche of new congregations multiplying and transforming community after community into which they unmistakably seep. Authors Jeff Christopherson and Mac Lake call readers to imagine a movement that vividly remembers the insubstantial days of a mustard seed with a sense of awe and wonder when looking at the indescribable harvest that stands all around. Though the kingdom of God can't be forced by superficial methods, the good news is that when you move past the threshold of your competency and comfort, you find yourself in the very spot where God can use you like no other. What wouldn’t you sacrifice to be a part of something that only could be described as a God-honoring gospel movement?

This creates a lot of confusion as to where the believer and the church fit into this changing culture. How do we maintain our Christian identity in such a world that requires us to compromise our most cherished beliefs? This book offers an old solution that has stood the test of time, but has eluded many present-day believers. The original message of Jesus is no longer considered relevant in our culture by many today. This book challenges that idea by making Jesus' message about the kingdom of heaven not only relevant, but also necessary. It is time that we listen again to the underlying message of the greatest prophet and teacher who has ever lived and not only make his teaching relevant, but the teacher as well.

Download or read book Thy Kingdom Come written by Dr Bola Akin-John and published by Church Growth Service. This book was released on 2014-12-15 with total page 184 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The doctrine of the kingdom of God is the heart of the earthly ministry of our Lord Jesus. He introduced it, emphasized it, preached and taught it, lived it and demonstrated it for all to see. He commissioned His disciples to go and preach the gospel of the kingdom. Yet the right understanding of the kingdom initially eluded the disciples. While Jesus was talking about the kingdom, the disciples were asking questions about political power. The same dilemma we see largely in the church of today. Too many church leaders are doing ministry without proper knowledge of the kingdom of God and they only understand it in the context of political power. The message and gospel of the kingdom is very scarce in our pulpits today. The more reason the church is floundering and true disciples are hard to come by in our society. Until every believer and church leader is soundly knowledgeable about the kingdom, many things will keep on going wrong in our lives and the church will become a laughing stock in our world. It is this knowledge that the author, Dr. Francis Bola Akin-John aims to disseminate to the body of Christ in this book. We must know that the kingdom has come and is still coming. Our heart cry everyday must be, LORD, let your kingdom come into our hearts, communities, nations and churches.

Book The Kingdom Reformation

  • Pages : 580 pages

Download or read book The Kingdom Reformation written by Derek Morphew and published by . This book was released on 2020-11-16 with total page 580 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Kingdom Reformation is the third in a trilogy on the kingdom of God: the mission and message of Jesus. The other two publications are Breakthrough: Discovering the Kingdom (a biblical theology) and Demonstrating the Kingdom (a practical theology). The trilogy forms the core of a larger project on kingdom theology which Derek Morphew has been developing over decades. It traces the roots of kingdom theology to four key factors that have emerged in the post Second World War era. They are, 1. The discovery and availability of the literature of Second Temple Judaism (the Dead Sea Scrolls, 1947).2. The post holocaust review of Protestantism and the emergence of a Jewish-Christian dialogue.3. The shift from modernism to postmodernism, leading to a review of the historical method as applied to the New Testament.4. The consensus position of inaugurated eschatology, namely that Jesus taught that the kingdom of God was both future (apocalyptic, or end of the age) and present in his ministry. These four factors have led to the emergence of a fresh departure in the long history of Christian theology, which is so fundamental (like a Reformation) that everything must be reviewed. To rediscover Jesus is to review the entire history of theology, including orthodoxy and the Reformation, without rejecting either of them. While this fresh departure is growing and widely represented today, applying kingdom theology to mission and praxis has taken place particularly in the post-Wimber charismatic or "third wave" tradition, in a number of young and growing missional and church planting movement.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "What good news do we have for the poor?" "Have I misunderstood the Gospel?" These were burning questions for the author as he was repeatedly confronted with extreme poverty in his work of bringing relief supplies to the poor in crisis prone nations around the world. Those questions started him off on a re-reading of the Bible that "rocked and overturned his boat" and led to a massive paradigm shift in his understanding of the Gospel - from the Gospel of salvation as most Christians know it, to the Gospel of the Kingdom. From that shift, came a fresh "out of the box" understanding of church, of spirituality, of ministry and of the role and mission God intends for His church to the world. Although written in simple narrative style and kept short and concise for the ordinary church-goer, this book may yet challenge some theological minds on the most basic questions of why God created us and put us on this planet. It may possibly even question your salvation too! Get ready to be rocked or overturned as you are invited to recapture a vision of God's Kingdom on earth and discover the end goal of the Gospel.
