Download or read book Robust Industrial Control Systems written by Michael J. Grimble and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2006-05-01 with total page 698 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Robust Industrial Control Systems: Optimal Design Approach for Polynomial Systems presents a comprehensive introduction to the use of frequency domain and polynomial system design techniques for a range of industrial control and signal processing applications. The solution of stochastic and robust optimal control problems is considered, building up from single-input problems and gradually developing the results for multivariable design of the later chapters. Providing a range of solutions to control and signal processing problems, this book: * Presents a comprehensive introduction to the polynomial systems approach for the solution of H_2 and H_infinity optimal control problems. * Develops robust control design procedures using frequency domain methods. * Demonstrates design examples for gas turbines, marine systems, metal processing, flight control, wind turbines, process control and manufacturing systems. * Includes the analysis of multi-degrees of freedom controllers and the computation of restricted structure controllers that are simple to implement. * Considers time-varying control and signal processing problems. * Addresses the control of non-linear processes using both multiple model concepts and new optimal control solutions. Robust Industrial Control Systems: Optimal Design Approach for Polynomial Systems is essential reading for professional engineers requiring an introduction to optimal control theory and insights into its use in the design of real industrial processes. Students and researchers in the field will also find it an excellent reference tool.

Download or read book Robustness of Dynamic Systems with Parameter Uncertainties written by Mohamed Mansour and published by Birkhäuser. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 307 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Robust Control is one of the fastest growing and promising areas of research today. In many practical systems there exist uncertainties which have to be considered in the analysis and design of control systems. In the last decade methods were developed for dealing with dynamic systems with unstructured uncertainties such as HOO_ and £I-optimal control. For systems with parameter uncertainties, the seminal paper of V. L. Kharitonov has triggered a large amount of very promising research. An international workshop dealing with all aspects of robust control was successfully organized by S. P. Bhattacharyya and L. H. Keel in San Antonio, Texas, USA in March 1991. We organized the second international workshop in this area in Ascona, Switzer land in April 1992. However, this second workshop was restricted to robust control of dynamic systems with parameter uncertainties with the objective to concentrate on some aspects of robust control. This book contains a collection of papers presented at the International Workshop on Robust Control held at the Centro Stefano Franscini, Monte Verita, Ascona, Switzer land on April 12-17, 1992 as well as a list of open problems presented during a dis cussion session at the workshop. Thirtyfive leading researchers from all over the world working in the area of robust control of dynamic systems with parameter uncertainties were invited to present their recent results and to discuss with their colleagues the recent advances in this field.
Download or read book Nonrecursive Control Design for Nonlinear Systems written by Chuanlin Zhang and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2023-06-20 with total page 344 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Based on the authors’ recent advances, this book focuses on a class of nonlinear systems with mismatched uncertainties/disturbances and discusses their typical control problems. It aims to provide a comprehensive view of the nonrecursive control theory and application guidelines. Various applications on the nonrecursive synthesis of complex nonlinear systems not only greatly simplify the control design process, weaken the system assumptions, and reduce the conservatism of gain selection, but also realize the essential detachment of control law design and Lyapunov function-based stability analysis. Therefore, different from the classical recursive control design methods, it is of significance to study the synthesis of nonlinear systems from the perspective of a new nonrecursive control framework. This book discusses the following typical control problems: theoretical background, homogeneous systems theory review, nonrecursive robust control design, nonrecursive adaptive control design, nonrecursive general dynamic predictive control, disturbance estimation and attenuation, nonrecursive stability analysis, implementation theory and real-life applications to series elastic actuators, DC microgrids, and permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) systems under the proposed nonrecursive synthesis framework. This book will be a great reference for scholars and students in the field of automation and control. It will also be a useful source for control engineers and those working on anti-disturbance control, nonlinear output regulation, nonsmooth control, and other related topics.

Download or read book Adaptive Systems in Control and Signal Processing 1989 written by T.S. Durrani and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2014-06-28 with total page 629 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Symposium covered three major areas: adaptive control, identification and signal processing. In all three, new developments were discussed covering both theoretical and applications research. Within the subject area of adaptive control the discussion centred around the challenges of robust control design to unmodelled dynamics, robust parameter estimation and enhanced performance from the estimator, while the papers on identification took the theme of it being a bridge between adaptive control and signal processing. The final area looked at two aspects of signal processing: recursive estimation and adaptive filters.

Download or read book Linear Control Theory written by Shankar P. Bhattacharyya and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2018-10-03 with total page 679 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Successfully classroom-tested at the graduate level, Linear Control Theory: Structure, Robustness, and Optimization covers three major areas of control engineering (PID control, robust control, and optimal control). It provides balanced coverage of elegant mathematical theory and useful engineering-oriented results. The first part of the book develops results relating to the design of PID and first-order controllers for continuous and discrete-time linear systems with possible delays. The second section deals with the robust stability and performance of systems under parametric and unstructured uncertainty. This section describes several elegant and sharp results, such as Kharitonov’s theorem and its extensions, the edge theorem, and the mapping theorem. Focusing on the optimal control of linear systems, the third part discusses the standard theories of the linear quadratic regulator, Hinfinity and l1 optimal control, and associated results. Written by recognized leaders in the field, this book explains how control theory can be applied to the design of real-world systems. It shows that the techniques of three term controllers, along with the results on robust and optimal control, are invaluable to developing and solving research problems in many areas of engineering.
