Book Practical Electronic Fault Finding and Troubleshooting

Download or read book Practical Electronic Fault Finding and Troubleshooting written by ROBIN PAIN and published by Newnes. This book was released on 1996-05-23 with total page 286 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Seasoned professional designers have that peculiar knowledge of their own work and specialized knowledge of its components to allow them to analyse and remove faults quickly on the spot (design errors take a little longer!). Fault finders can never have this depth of specialization: commercial pressures demand a minimum knowledge-to-do-the-job approach. Practical Electronic Fault Finding and Troubleshooting describes the fundamental principles of analogue and digital fault finding (although of course there is no such thing as a 'digital fault' - all faults are by nature analogue). This book is written entirely for a fault finder using only the basic fault-finding equipment: a digital multimeter and an oscilloscope. The treatment is non-mathematical (apart from Ohm's law) and all jargon is strictly avoided.

Book VCR Troubleshooting and Repair

Download or read book VCR Troubleshooting and Repair written by Robert Brenner and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 1998-08-26 with total page 453 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The labor costs of even a minor VCR repair are very high, and warranties typically only cover the first 90 days of ownership. The first four chapters of this practical guide allow do-it-yourselfers to take charge of maintaining and repairing their own VCRs for optimum performance. Basic VCR and recording principles are explained so you can gain a better understanding of how your machine operates. Advanced troubleshooting techniques covered in the later chapters allow technicians and advanced hobbyists to make more complex repairs and adjustments. Basic troubleshooting guidelines and flow charts aid in diagnosis, including chassis and mechanical failures. VCR Troubleshooting & Repair, focuses on preventative maintenance. Basic electronics principles are presented as they relate to VCR performance. THE AUTHORSGregory R. Capelo is the owner of a VCR and VTR repair facility in El Cajon, California. He has serviced broadcast, consumer, and industrial video equipment for more than 14 years. He has taught numerous technical courses to private, government, and industrial technicians on the theory and maintenance of video and television equipment. Currently a trainer for Panasonic, he has been an expert witness in VCR patent infringement cases.Robert C. Brenner is an engineer and lecturer with extensive experience in microcomputers and system repair. He has written several successful books, including earlier editions of VCR Troubleshooting and Repair. Revised with technical input from major VCR manufacturers Step-by-step details to maximize performance How to avoid breakdowns

Book Adhesion Problems in the Recycling of Concrete

Download or read book Adhesion Problems in the Recycling of Concrete written by Pieter C. Kreijger and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-03-09 with total page 396 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The building explosion during the years 1945-1960 will inevitably lead to increased demolition in the next decades since the lifetime distribution of structures no longer fulfills its functional social requirements in an acceptable way. In the building period mentioned there was a great increase in reinforced and prestressed concrete construction. Consequently there is now more and more concrete to be demolished. Increasingly severe demands will be made upon demolition technology, including the demand for human- and environment-friendly techniques. On the other hand, the possibility of disposing of debris by dumping is steadily diminishing, especially close to major cities and generally in countries with a high population density. At the same time in such countries and in such urban areas a shortage of aggregates for making concrete will develop as a result of restrictions on aggregate working because of its effect on the environment and because of the unavailability of aggregate deposits due to urban development. From the foregoing it follows that recycling and re-use of environment- and human-friendly demolished and fragmented building rubble should be considered. The translation of this general problem into terms of materials science is possible by forming clear ideas of adhesion and cohesion: the whole process of demolition, fragmentation, and recycling or re-use of concrete is to break the bonding forces between atoms and molecules and to form new bonds across the interfaces of various particles of either the same nature or a different nature.
