Book Treatment of Malocclusion of the Teeth and Fractures of the Maxill

Download or read book Treatment of Malocclusion of the Teeth and Fractures of the Maxill written by Edward H. Angle and published by . This book was released on 2015-08-05 with total page 330 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Treatment of Malocclusion of the Teeth and Fractures of the Maxillae: Angle's System The issuance of this sixth edition of this work in its enlarged form, intended by the author as a culmination of his labor in this line, is inspired by various considerations. The system of appliances and methods of treatment introduced in the former editions have been well received, as is evidenced by the number of editions issued and by their translation into the French, German, Dutch, Scandinavian, and Spanish languages by writers in the countries where these languages prevail. As a result of busy years devoted to teaching and the exclusive practice of orthodontia, during which the science has been an absorbing study and the subject of most painstaking investigation, the author has been more and more impressed with its far-reaching importance and possibilities. He is actuated in the present instance not alone by the earnest solicitation of teachers, students, and practitioners, but also by an appreciation of the necessities of this science and the hope that the principles herein recorded may be instrumental in promoting its advancement. The subject is treated far more comprehensively in this edition than in those which have preceded it, they having been limited to the mechanical phases of the subject. Much of this early matter has been rewritten, some of it being eliminated - superseded by better methods, the object always being to keep simplicity and efficiency foremost. There has been a studied effort for condensation and systematic arrangement. It is believed that lumbering volumes, like multiplicity of appliances and methods, serve rather to leave the student in hazy bewilderment than to equip him for useful practice. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Open-Bite Malocclusion: Treatment and Stability presents the etiology, treatment, and its stability of anterior open bite malocclusion in the early, mixed, and permanent dentitions. Special emphasis is devoted to orthodontic treatment and its stability in the permanent dentition because this is the time when treatment of open bite presents greater relapse. Appropriate for clinicians, orthodontic residents, and dental students, Open-Bite Malocclusion covers the most simple treatment approaches to the most complex, from orthodontic devices to tooth extraction to surgery. Unique to this book is the discussion of post-treatment stability. Drs. Janson and Valarelli highlight the post-treatment changes and presents strategies to increase treatment stability. This allows the clinician to be able to predict the stability probabilities when treating anterior open bite malocclusions in the permanent dentition either with or without extraction, orthodontic-surgical therapy, or with occlusal adjustment.

Book Malocclusion

  • Pages : 0 pages

Download or read book Malocclusion written by Mohammad Khursheed Alam and published by . This book was released on 2018 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Most people have some degree of malocclusion. Malocclusions have a strong hereditary component as an etiologic factor, both in families and in ethnic and racial groups. This phenotype can be recognized at an early age and becomes progressively more evident with growth, appearing as one of the main factors that force patients to seek orthodontic treatment. The goal of orthodontic treatment is not only ensuring the alignment of the teeth, jaw relationship, function and aesthetic but also improving self-esteem and quality of life. This e-book about orthodontics will describe such information and knowledge concerning malocclusion in a logical way that can generate better knowledge regarding the treatment effectiveness of malocclusion, facilitate assessment and provide the momentum needed for a sustained upgrade in the standards of care of patients in daily orthodontics. The authors of this book have worked hard to manifest their ideas scientifically. Reading the works of all of these authors has been educating and has exposed the depth of their understanding and abilities. Though this book is anticipated for general dental practitioners and undergraduate students in the field, it will also act as a convenient compendium for postgraduates as well. There may be errors of omission and commission. Any comments and suggestions for improvement are cordially welcome.

Book Orthodontic Diagnosis and Treatment of Malocclusion

Download or read book Orthodontic Diagnosis and Treatment of Malocclusion written by Philip Chiders and published by American Medical Publishers. This book was released on 2021-11-16 with total page 218 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Malocclusion is a condition that results in a misalignment between the teeth and the two dental arches when they approach each other when the jaw closes. Malocclusion can be divided into three types - class 1 is netrocclussion, class 2 is distocclussion and class 3 is mesiocclusion. Class 1 netrocclussion is a condition where the molar relationship of the occlusion is normal but the other teeth have problems like spacing, crowding and under eruption. Class 2 distocclussion is a condition where the mesiobuccal cusp of the upper first molar is anterior with the mesiobuccal groove of the lower first molar. Class 3 mesiocclusion is a condition where the upper molars are placed posteriorly to it and not in the mesiobuccal groove. Some common causes of malocclusion are extra teeth, impacted teeth, lost teeth and abnormally shaped teeth. It can be treated with the help of orthodontics which includes tooth extraction, dental braces and clear aligners. This book provides comprehensive insights into the field of malocclusion. It presents researches and studies performed by experts across the globe. This book is a resource guide for experts as well as students.
