Download or read book What Is Saving Faith written by John Piper and published by Crossway. This book was released on 2022-02-02 with total page 277 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Bestselling Author and Pastor John Piper Reflects on the Relationship between Treasuring Christ and Saving Faith What happens in the heart when it experiences real saving faith? John Piper argues that faith in Christ is not saving unless it includes an "affectional dimension of treasuring Christ." Nor is God glorified as he ought to be unless he is treasured in being trusted. Saving faith in Jesus Christ welcomes him forever as our supreme and inexhaustible pleasure. What Is Saving Faith? explains that a Savior who is treasured for his all-satisfying worth is more glorified than a Savior who is only trusted for his all-forgiving competence. In this way, saving faith reaches its God-appointed goal: the perfections of Christ glorified by our being satisfied in him forever. Written by Best-Selling Author and Pastor John Piper: Explores a critical and misunderstood element of the Christian faith, urging believers to ask the unsettling question, Do I have saving faith? Theologically Robust: Studies respected theologians' work regarding salvation, including John Calvin, Jonathan Edwards, Henry Scougal, John Owen, Wayne Grudem, and J. I. Packer Accessible: Written for students, nominal or thoughtful Christians, and church leaders of all levels, as well as anyone interested in the nature of faith and the essential relationship between faith and feeling

Download or read book Birthing Forth the Treasures of the Father s Heart written by Terika Green and published by . This book was released on 2020-01-19 with total page 272 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Crystals are the vital missing link to the full armor of God. Crystals are the Father's gift healing, health, energy, wholeness, fruitfulness, grace, and protection. Jesus is restoring his name as the Rock and why he is "the Rock." The Lord wants to restore the truth about crystals and their original intent to bring forth healing, physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. There are so many truths and hidden treasure in the Word of God that people have overlooked in the Church, because they have not read the word for themselves, or just innocently forgot some of the things written in the bible, and just have been told stay away from crystals because it is witchcraft. Crystals are the vital missing link to the armor of God. We must remember that whenever Jesus or the Father compares themselves to something, it is better to research it. Do not just stay at the mindset that they are higher than these things. Recognize they are saying even what they do, or their benefits cannot compare unto them. There is much treasure to be revealed and hidden truths in the bible. The Lord gave me and my husband a prophecy that he was going to call us out of the Church to birth something new if we would let him, little did I know he was going to download to me the hidden treasures about crystals hidden in the bible and the revelation on how they fight for us and keeps us protected. Over the years, I kept asking the Lord, "Something is missing, why aren't my gifts flowing as they should, why are people getting delivered and then having to get delivered again." I remember I was going through a tough time, I was going through frustration, anger issues, bills were due, I was frustrated at myself and others while sitting down at Church, I recognized the anger and frustration I had and I was tired of it. I had a vision right before they called people to the altar. I had seen all these pretty gemstones and crystals on an ice cream cone. I said, "Father, I want to birth forth the treasures of your heart, but what I was saying was, "Father, I want to have the beauty of your gemstones and crystals." They were beautiful, and I recognized, me being angry and frustrated, made me look and feel ugly and dark on the inside. When I went to the altar for the altar call, the pastor said, "I see a rainbow of colors surrounding you and squeezing you like a mummy." I knew it represented the seven spirits of God, but little did I know he was birthing forth the different colors of the treasures (Crystals and gemstones) of his heart. I didn't realize the crystals help fight off negative energy (demons), I didn't think they help you physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually, and at the same time protect you depending on their function. When he told me to leave the Church I was at, during that time, he downloaded revelation in the scriptures about crystals and their benefits in the bible that has been in the word of God, that we overlooked. The bible talks about them even protecting us, you might ask, "Where are these scriptures at in the bible?" I'm glad you asked, it's within this book. In this book, you will see and know what the Lord was prophesying to the people in the word of God using the crystals in different scriptures. People are reminded of the rainbow is not only the promise that the Father won't flood the earth again, but also the rainbow releases the promises of God through covenant with the Father. People look up at the rainbow and question why their blessings and promises have not become manifested yet. In this book, you will find out why most people don't receive their full inheritances, covenant blessings, that the Lord releases through the rainbow. It will be shown and explained how to unlock and receive your full, inheritance, and blessings, and prayers through the rainbow with the use of crystals. I go over a few of my experiences with crystals through the Father through Christ the Living Rock. One thing for sure Jesus Rocks!
Download or read book A Searcher s Treasures written by Paul M Sivey and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2019-04-26 with total page 728 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “A Searcher’s Treasures” An Independent Study of God’s Word This book presents interpretations both old and new, both from the writer’s own studies and from the learned works of others. It is intended to help get Bible reading and study above the horizon and into view so that society can realize the greatness of God and better understand Him. The book challenges common beliefs to a degree, but to a greater degree it builds upon the foundations laid by the Church of which Jesus Christ is the Chief Cornerstone. The writer’s hope is that the more we know about God, the less we will question His ways and the more we will want to love, serve, and obey Him. The author feels that the greatest goal is to be precious in the Lord’s eyes, and there is no better way to do that than to introduce souls to His kingdom. The book delves into the realms of questions long-begging for answers, such as the role of evil spirits, their potential purposes, and how they can be accepted as real but yet responsive to mental health treatments. The book also searches out such things as the beginning of man in God’s image, the age of the earth, and an intriguing study of how God may have always had specific time intervals in the working of His will.
Download or read book Hidden Treasures in the Book of Job Reasons to Believe written by Hugh Ross and published by Baker Books. This book was released on 2011-10-01 with total page 277 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Arguably the oldest book in the Bible, the book of Job has a surprising amount to say about some of the newest scientific discoveries and controversies. Far from a book that is just about suffering, Job is filled with rich insight into both ancient and modern questions about the formation of the world the difference between animals and humans cosmology dinosaurs and the fossil record how to care for creation and more With careful consideration and exegesis, internationally known astrophysicist and Christian apologist Hugh Ross adds yet another compelling argument to the case for the veracity of the biblical commentary on the history of the universe, Earth, life, and humanity. Hidden Treasures in the Book of Job shows that the Bible is an accurate predictor of scientific discoveries and a trustworthy source of scientific information, and that both the book of Scripture and the book of nature are consistent both internally and externally.
Download or read book Treasure in the Field written by Robert A. Krieg and published by Liturgical Press. This book was released on 2013-02-01 with total page 201 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What does it mean to say that God offers salvation to humanity? What is this salvation, and how can we become more conscious of it in our lives? These are the questions that Robert Krieg faces in Treasure in the Field. While his intent is certainly to impart information and ideas found in Scripture, church teaching, and theology, it is also to illumine our own experiences. Krieg retrieves the Bible's teaching on salvation and expresses it in contemporary terms. Drawing deeply from Scripture, he defines salvation as God's gift of personal identity, of wholeness. In this perspective, God calls us not to invent ourselves but to discover ourselves as God intends us to be. Those who gradually make this discovery become grateful recipients who give themselves and their talents for the well-being of other people and creation. Robert A. Krieg is professor of theology at the University of Notre Dame. He is the editor and translator of Romano Guardini: Spiritual Writings, as well as the author of Romano Guardini: A Precursor of Vatican II; Karl Adam: Catholicism in German Culture; and Story-Shaped Christology. His work has also appeared in America, Theological Studies, Worship, and many other journals.
Download or read book Apocalypse of Moses written by Scriptural Research Institute and published by Scriptural Research Institute. This book was released on 2019-10-10 with total page 62 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Apocalypse of Moses is the Greek version of the Life of Adam and Eve. The original version is believed to have been written in a Semitic language, as there as terms transliterated into Greek from a Semitic language, however, it is not known positively which language, as the original text is lost, and so far, no fragments have been found among the Dead Sea Scrolls that can be firmly linked to it. The closest text discovered to date among the Dead Sea Scrolls would be the Genesis Apocryphon scroll, written in Aramaic and generally dated to between 37 BC to 50 AD. The original language of the Apocalypse of Moses was likely also Aramaic, as demonstrated by the use of the name Iah (Jah), which is found more commonly in Aramaic language books, like Tobit. A number of references circumstantially date the original work to the era when the Greeks ruled Judea, between 330 and 140 BC. The reference to Iah is itself evidence of a pre-Hasmonean origin, as the Hasmoneans’ authorized’ version of the Hebrew texts appear to have redacted Iah (יה) to Yahweh (יהוה) when they converted the Jews from the Canaanite (Samaritan/Paleo-Hebrew) script to the Assyrian (Hebrew) script. The name Iah (Jah) does show up in many ancient names, such as Josiah, and phrases such as Hallelujah, implying it was once widely accepted as the name of (a) God, however, virtually disappeared from the Hebrew scriptures at some point, likely during the Hasmonean redaction and standardization circa 140 BC. The reference to Lord Sabaoth (κυρίῳ σαβαωθ) is another indicator of a pre-Hasmonean origin for the text. Lord Sabaoth was the Major-General of the Lord God’s army that helped Joshua destroy the walls of Jericho in the Septuagint’s Book of Joshua. There are many references to Lord Sabaoth, the ‘Lord of War’ in the Greek era, however, during the early Hasmonean era, he became an epitaph of Iaw (Yahweh) the national God of Hasmonean Judea: Iaw Sabaoth (יהוה צבאות). The Hasmoneans redacted Lord Sabaoth from the Book of Joshua, replacing him with Yahweh (יהוה), meaning that Yahweh was the Major-General of his own army in the Masoretic version of Joshua. According to later-Hasmonean records, Yahweh Sabaoth became the Jewish version of Dionysus or Bacchus, a god of war, wine, and lust, before he was abandoned during the formation of the Pharisee sect, who rejected the pronunciation of any of the names of God.

Download or read book The Treasure Principle Revised and Updated written by Randy Alcorn and published by Multnomah. This book was released on 2012-04-11 with total page 162 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Discover how the joy of giving can make your life richer, starting today. Bestselling author Randy Alcorn introduced readers to a revolution in material freedom and radical generosity with the release of the original The Treasure Principle in 2001. Now the revision to the compact, perennial bestseller includes a provocative new concluding chapter depicting God asking a believer questions about his stewardship over material resources. Jesus spent more time talking about money and possessions than about heaven and hell combined. But too often we’ve overlooked or misunderstood his most profound teaching on this topic, from his words in Matthew 6. Jesus offers us life-changing investment advice. He actually wants us to store up treasures for ourselves—just not here on earth. Instead, he urges us to store our treasure in heaven, where they will await us, and last forever. We can’t take it with us—but we can send it on ahead! Readers are moved from the realms of thoughtful Bible exposition into the highly personal arena of everyday life. Because when Jesus told His followers to “lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven,” He intended that they discover an astounding secret: how joyful giving brings God maximum glory and His children maximum pleasure. In The Treasure Principle, you’ll unearth a radical teaching of Jesus—a secret wrapped up in giving. Once you discover this secret, life will never look the same. And you won’t want it to be. “Supercharged with stunning, divine truth! Lightning struck over and over as I read it.” - John Piper, Senior Pastor, Bethlehem Baptist Church, Minneapolis
Download or read book The Holy Spirit written by John Owen and published by Banner of Truth. This book was released on 1998 with total page 208 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: 'Owen on the Holy Spirit', as this work has been known to generations of Christians, was written by the greatest theologian of the Puritan era. It is, without question, one of the truly great Christian books. Originally published in 1674 as Pneumatologia, or A Discourse concerning the Holy Spirit, it is a massive work, taking up 650 pages in the Banner of Truth edition of Owen's Works (Volume 3). It deals with the name, nature, personality and operations of the Spirit, and urges the necessity of gospel holiness as distinct from mere human morality. The work is both doctrinal and pastoral in character. The very length and exhaustiveness of the original book could easily deter us from attempting to read it, but this abridged and modernized version prepared, like the earlier volumes in the series, (Apostasy from the Gospel, Communion with God and The Glory of Christ), by Dr. R. J. K. Law will make Owen's teaching more accessible to modern readers.
