Book Digital Transformation in Financial Services

Download or read book Digital Transformation in Financial Services written by Claudio Scardovi and published by Springer. This book was released on 2017-09-04 with total page 236 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book analyzes the set of forces driving the global financial system toward a period of radical transformation and explores the transformational challenges that lie ahead for global and regional or local banks and other financial intermediaries. It is explained how these challenges derive from the newly emerging post-crisis structure of the market and from shadow and digital players across all banking operations. Detailed attention is focused on the impacts of digitalization on the main functions of the financial system, and particularly the banking sector. The author elaborates how an alternative model of banking will enable banks to predict, understand, navigate, and change the external ecosystem in which they compete. The five critical components of this model are data and information mastering; effective use of applied analytics; interconnectivity and “junction playing”; development of new business solutions; and trust and credibility assurance. The analysis is supported by a number of informative case studies. The book will be of interest especially to top and middle managers and employees of banks and financial institutions but also to FinTech players and their advisers and others.

Book Disruptive Technology and Digital Transformation for Business and Government

Download or read book Disruptive Technology and Digital Transformation for Business and Government written by Sandhu, Kamaljeet and published by IGI Global. This book was released on 2021-05-07 with total page 410 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: With the far-reaching global impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the demand and the necessity for digital enterprise transformation have accelerated exponentially. Management and strategies for the adoption and wider usage of newer digital technologies for the transformation of an enterprise through digital tools such as real-time video communications have shown that people no longer need to be required to be physically present in the same place; rather, they can be geographically dispersed. Technologies such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing, digital banking, and cloud data have taken over tasks that were initially done by human hands and have increased both the automation and efficiency of tasks and the accessibility of information and services. Inclusion of all these newer technologies has shown the fast pace at which the digital enterprise transformation is rapidly evolving and how new ecosystems are reshaping the digital enterprise model. Disruptive Technology and Digital Transformation for Business and Government presents interesting research on digital enterprise transformation at different stages and across different settings within government and industry, along with key issues and deeper insights on the core problems and developing solutions and recommendations for digital enterprise transformation. The chapters examine the three core leaders of transformation: the people such as managers, employees, and customers; the digital technology such as artificial intelligence and robotics; and the digital enterprise, including the products and services being transformed. They unravel the underlying process for management and strategies to fully incorporate new digital tools and technologies across all aspects of an enterprise undergoing transformation. This book is ideally intended for managers, executives, IT consultants, business professionals, government officials, researchers, students, practitioners, stakeholders, academicians, and anyone else looking to learn about new developments in digital enterprise transformation of business systems from a global perspective.

Book Stay Competitive in the Digital Age The Future of Banks

Download or read book Stay Competitive in the Digital Age The Future of Banks written by MissEstelle X Liu and published by International Monetary Fund. This book was released on 2021-02-19 with total page 42 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The latest advancement in financial technology has posed unprecedented challenges for incumbent banks. This paper analyzes the implications of these challenges on bank competitveness, and explores the factors that could support digital advancement in banks. The analysis shows that the traditionally leading role of banks in advancing financial technology has diminished in recent years, and suggests that onoing efforts to catch up to the digital frontier could lead to a more concentrated banking industry, as smaller and less tech-savvy banks struggle to survive. Cross-country evidence has suggested that banks in high-income economies appear to have been the digital leaders, likely benefiting from a sound digital infrastructure, a strong legal and business environment, and healthy competition. Nonetheless, some digital leaders may fall behind in the coming years in adopting newer technologies due to entrenched consumer behavior favoring older technologies, less active fintech and bigtech companies, and weak bank balance sheets.

Book E Banking in India

Download or read book E Banking in India written by Rimpi Jatana and published by . This book was released on 2007 with total page 284 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: ABOUT THE BOOK Finland was the first country in the world to have taken a lead in E-banking. In India, it was ICICI Bank which initiated E-banking as early as 1997 under the brand name Infinity. Electronic banking (E-banking) is a generic term encompassing internet banking, telephone banking, mobile banking etc. In other words, it is a process of delivery of banking services and products through electronic channels such as telephone, internet, cell phone etc. The concept and scope of E-banking is still evolving. E-banking facilitates an effective payment and accounting system thereby enhancing the speed of delivery of banking services considerably. While E-banking has improved efficiency and convenience, it has also posed several challenges to the regulators and supervisors. Several initiatives taken by the Government of India as well as the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) have facilitated the development of E-banking in India. The Government of India enacted the IT Act, 2000 with effect from October 17, 2000, which provides legal recognition to electronic transactions and other means of electronic commerce. The RBI has been gearing up to upgrading itself as a regulator and supervisor of the technologically dominated financial system. It issued guidelines on risks and control in computer and telecommunication system in February 1998 to all the banks advising them to evaluate the risks inherent in the systems and put in place adequate control mechanisms to address these risks, which can be broadly put under three heads, viz. IT environment risks, IT operations risks and product risks. The existing regulatory framework over banks has also been extended to E-banking. It covers various issues that fall within the framework of technology, security standards and legal and regulatory issues. This book contains 12 articles by scholars specialising in the area of banking. It will be useful for all those who want to understand recent technological developments in Indian banking.

Book The Digital Banking Revolution

Download or read book The Digital Banking Revolution written by Luigi Wewege and published by Scribl. This book was released on 2017-02-14 with total page 108 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Over the past decade financial service innovations have contributed to a completely new way in which customers can bank, threatening the status quo of traditional retail banks, and redefining a banking model which has been in place for generations. These new technological advancements have facilitated the rapid emergence of digital banking firms and FinTech companies, leading to established banks being forced to swiftly increase their pace of digital adoption to stay relevant and stop mass client attrition to these agile financial start-ups. These threats come at an inopportune time for banks due to mature markets currently experiencing stagnant growth. This coupled with decreasing profit margins due to the competitive pricing of new entrants, and financial customer loyalty becoming ever increasingly more tenuous.

Book Marketing and Mobile Financial Services

Download or read book Marketing and Mobile Financial Services written by Aijaz A. Shaikh and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2018-12-21 with total page 286 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Mobile financial services (MFS) are of major interest and importance to both researchers and practitioners. The role played by nonbanking actors including telecoms and FinTech firms as well as other participants, such as PayPal and Amazon, in developing and deploying innovative financial and payment services is undeniable. Peer2peer (P2P) payments from nonbank services are becoming increasingly commonplace and will shortly be codified by EC (EU?) regulations requiring banks to provide access to consumer data for third-party app developers and service providers. Three major mobile financial systems—mobile banking, mobile payments, and branchless banking—currently dominate the electronic retail banking sector. Although interconnected and interrelated, their business models, regulatory frameworks, and target markets are distinct. This book provides a unified perspective on MFS and discusses its evolution, growth, and future, as well as identifying the frameworks, stakeholders, and technologies used in financial information systems in general and MFS in particular. Academics and researchers in digital and financial marketing will find this book an invaluable resource, as will bank executives, regulators, policy makers, FinTech professionals, and anyone interested in how mobile technology, social media and financial services will increasingly intersect.
