Download or read book Training Believers in Personal Evangelism at Grace Baptist Church Ridgeway Virginia written by Dennis Edgar Wingate and published by . This book was released on 2013 with total page 272 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This project presents an experimental methodology for training believers in personal evangelism within the local church. Chapter 1 lays the foundation for the research project. It identifies purpose and establishes the critical goals for the work. The ministry context of Grace Baptist Church in Ridgeway, Virginia is also highlighted. Chapter 2 gives the project its biblical roots. Exegeses of an Old Testament (Gen 12:1-9) and five New Testament texts (Matt 28:18-20, Luke 8:4-15, Acts 2:14-47, Acts 22:1-16, and Col 1:3-8) yield rich biblical insights and remind the Christian that the Old Testament mission of redemption continues into the New Testament age. Chapter 3 is multi-faceted, taking a mosaic approach by tackling several theoretical and practice issues in personal evangelism. It addresses historical wisdom, spiritual warfare, witnessing obstacles, evangelism models, accountability issues, and statistical realities. Of particular interest is the coupling of personal evangelism with the doctrines of the application of redemption. Chapter 4 provides the fifteen-week research grid for training believers in personal evangelism. The project seeks five goals believed to fortify the evangelistic thrust of the church: (1) increase biblical knowledge, (2) improve evangelistic skill, (3) initiate personal accountability, (4) proclaim the gospel, and (5) strengthen pastoral leadership in the area of evangelism and church growth. Chapter 5 provides a rigorous examination of the research project. It offers analyses in a number of areas, striving always to gauge the value of the work.

Book The Believer s Guide on Personal Evangelism

Download or read book The Believer s Guide on Personal Evangelism written by Dr. John Thomas Wylie and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2019-05-22 with total page 78 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: One needs to go to the New Testament, and the Gospels specifically, to truly observe the evangelistic plan of Jesus. After all, they are the main eye-witness accounts that we have of the Savior, Jesus, at work (Luke 1:2–3; John 20:30, 21:24; 1 John 1:1). Certainly, the Gospels were composed fundamentally to indicate to us Jesus Christ, the Son of God, and that by faith we can have life in his name (John 20:31). Be that as it may, what we neglect to acknowledge once in a while is that the revelation of that life in Christ incorporates the manner in which he lived and trained others to live. We should remember that the witnesses who composed the books were not just witnesses to the truth; they were changed by it. The task of The Believer’s Guide On Personal Evangelism is to bring people to faith in Jesus Christ. An individual should unmistakably and coherently present the need for Jesus Christ and the provision God has made to address that issue. While there are numerous approaches, this book puts forward the plain facts and the directness of the straightforwardness (simplicity) of the gospel of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Book Holiness for Growing Christians

Download or read book Holiness for Growing Christians written by Allan Brown and published by . This book was released on 2019-09-15 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Do you long to be more like Jesus? Do you desire to live a holy life? Do you seek to answer the Spirit's call: "But as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, 'Be holy, for I am holy'" (1 Peter 1:15- 16)? If so, this book was written for you. Unfortunately, many Christians are confused about what the Bible teaches about living a holy life. I've had students who came from good Gospel-preaching churches who were not sure they even believed in what they heard called "holiness." Either their church did not speak much about it or what they heard seemed legalistic or unattainable. It is sad that there is so much careless and sometimes contradictory teaching about this vital subject. The aim of this book is to be as biblically and contextually accurate as possible in the use of words and phrases such as "holy, holiness, sanctify, the Spirit-filled life, and entire sanctification." Further, I seek to limit my comments to what the Scriptures actually affirm. I do not attempt to answer every question that can be raised when talking about the biblical doctrine of sanctification. Rather, I seek to affirm what Scriptures affirm and leave unsaid what Scriptures do not say. I think any reader of Scripture will agree that God does command Christians to be holy. The burning question is: "What does God mean when He commands us to be holy?" This book is an attempt to answer that question.

Book excerpt: How did the apostle John know that, two thousand years after he lived, your life would need a fresh touch from God? How did John know that, at the beginning of a new millennium, our lives would be so busy, our focus so divided, our bodies so tired, our minds so bombarded, our families so attacked, our relationships so strained, our churches so programmed . . . that we would be desperate for the simplicity and the purity, the freedom and the fulfillment of a life lived in Jesus’ name? John probably didn’t know. But God did. That’s why He gives us Jesus! Book What Is the Gospel

  • Author : Greg Gilbert
  • Publisher : Crossway
  • Release : 2010-03-09
  • ISBN : 1433524600
  • Pages : 88 pages

Download or read book What Is the Gospel written by Greg Gilbert and published by Crossway. This book was released on 2010-03-09 with total page 88 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What is the gospel? It seems like a simple question, yet it has been known to incite some heated responses, even in the church. How are we to formulate a clear, biblical understanding of the gospel? Tradition, reason, and experience all leave us ultimately disappointed. If we want answers, we must turn to the Word of God. Greg Gilbert does so in What Is the Gospel? Beginning with Paul's systematic presentation of the gospel in Romans and moving through the sermons in Acts, Gilbert argues that the central structure of the gospel consists of four main subjects: God, man, Christ, and a response. The book carefully examines each and then explores the effects the gospel can have in individuals, churches, and the world. Both Christian and non-Christian readers will gain a clearer understanding of the gospel in this valuable resource.
