I just kept writing it’s how I express my feelings. I have tons of poems from over the years.. You will find a few short stories in: Touched By Time, I write on many different topics. About: Love, Romance, Loss, Nature if it inspires me. I also get poems when I am listening to music or watching something on tv. Or from a friend or a family member might say. My love for poetry comes from my grandfathers side of the family. They were musicians and loved playing for the people in Belgium, France.

Book Touched By Grace

Download or read book Touched By Grace written by Gary Lucas and published by Jawbone Press. This book was released on 2013-09-01 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Suddenly, this skinny, longhaired kid who had been lounging against the wall inside sprang forward to confront me, rolling and popping his eyes, intensely vibing me with his own personal voodoo. He looked electric, on fire--as if he was about to jump out of his own skin. He was the very image of the young Tim Buckley--same sensual, red-lipped mouth, same sensitive, haunted, blazing eyes. He was a beautiful boy: so charismatic, so handsome, his chiseled face both angelic and demonic. This was obviously Jeff Buckley." Touched By Grace is a revealing account of the time Gary spent working with Jeff Buckley during Jeff's early days in New York City. It describes their magical first performance together at the Greetings From Tim Buckley concert in 1991, the creation of their landmark songs 'Grace' and 'Mojo Pin,' their plan to take on the world together in Gary's band Gods and Monsters--and then the moment when Jeff pulled the plug, opting instead to pursue a solo deal with Columbia Records, the very label that had recently cut short its contract with the original incarnation Gods and Monsters. In this fascinating and revelatory book, Gary writes with heartfelt honesty about the highs and lows of this unique creative collaboration, providing an eye-opening insight into a world of music, passion, betrayal, and more.

Book Touch in the Time of Corona

Download or read book Touch in the Time of Corona written by Henriette Steiner and published by Walter de Gruyter GmbH & Co KG. This book was released on 2021-09-20 with total page 191 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A chronicle, a memoir, a reflection on the pandemic, and a cultural analysis of the new spatial, social, and epistemological forms that have arisen with it, this volume weaves together cultural history, aesthetics, and urban and digital studies. It looks at the particular ways in which the possibilities for touch, touching and being touched, both physically and affectively, are reconfigured by the pandemic. How are love, care, and humanity’s complex relationships with technology and nature played out in the interval between abandoned city centres and digitally mediated gatherings? How can we comprehend the reconfiguration of relationships through the human response to the pandemic as an experience that concerns us all but affects each of us in different ways? How do we think through the technological and material dependencies that the pandemic situation establishes? And how does this allow us to imagine the world beyond the pandemic—both utopian and dystopian? The essays in this book explore the new forms of intimacy and distance that are developing in the wake of COVID-19, offering a distinctive, topical analysis in the fields of urban and digital studies.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Whitney: His touch... I can't shake it from my memory. The way he looked at me was like he couldn't believe his eyes. And I definitely couldn't believe mine. God, he was so handsome and strong. Not like soft-handed city boys. I wish he didn't live so far away. Up there in the hills, it was so quiet, so peaceful. I'd like to settle down there one day, leave this city and start over. But those are just dreams. Or at least, I thought they were. And then one day he came down to the city and looked me up... One thing led to another, and before I knew it, I found myself falling head over heels for this country boy. Dalton: I can't sleep. I can't get her out of my head. That curvy cutie just won't leave my mind. That face, that curvy frame, that shy little laugh. She's everything I've ever wanted, and then some. But she's a city girl, and I'm a country boy, living up here in the hills getting my hands dirty day in and day out with my job. I'm a lumberjack, and she's a secretary. Our way of life couldn't be much more different than it already is. But I'm willing to bet she wouldn't mind coming up here to the mountains with me and seeing how life is outside of the city... Whatever it takes, that's what I'm going to do to make this woman my forever. Dalton's Touch is an over the top romance story in the Mountain Man's BBW series by Amber Branley. The book is a standalone, and the series can be read in any order you like. Each book features a new alpha male as well as a new curvy girl as they fall head over heels in instant love.

Book A Touch of Jen

Download or read book A Touch of Jen written by Beth Morgan and published by Little, Brown. This book was released on 2021-07-13 with total page 290 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A young couple's toxic Instagram crush spins out of control and unleashes a sinister creature in this twisted, viciously funny, "bananas good" story (Carmen Maria Machado). "Um, holy shit...This novel will be the most fun you'll have this summer." —Emily Temple, Literary Hub Remy and Alicia, a couple of insecure service workers, are not particularly happy together. But they are bound by a shared obsession with Jen, a beautiful former co-worker of Remy’s who now seems to be following her bliss as a globe-trotting jewelry designer. In and outside the bedroom, Remy and Alicia's entire relationship revolves around fantasies of Jen, whose every Instagram caption, outfit, and new age mantra they know by heart. Imagine their confused excitement when they run into Jen, in the flesh, and she invites them on a surfing trip to the Hamptons with her wealthy boyfriend and their group. Once there, Remy and Alicia try (a little too hard) to fit into Jen’s exalted social circle, but violent desire and class resentment bubble beneath the surface of this beachside paradise, threatening to erupt. As small disturbances escalate into outright horror, we find ourselves tumbling with Remy and Alicia into an uncanny alternate reality, one shaped by their most unspeakable, deviant, and intoxicating fantasies. Is this what “self-actualization” looks like? Part millennial social comedy, part psychedelic horror, and all wildly entertaining, A Touch of Jen is a sly, unflinching examination of the hidden drives that lurk just outside the frame of our carefully curated selves.

Book The Book of Unconformities

Download or read book The Book of Unconformities written by Hugh Raffles and published by Verse Chorus Press. This book was released on 2022-04-18 with total page 415 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: From the author of lnsectopedia, a powerful exploration of loss, grief, endurance, and the absences that permeate the present. Unconformities are gaps in the geological record, physical evidence of breaks in time. For Hugh Raffles, these holes in history are also fissures in feeling, knowledge, memory, and understanding. In this endlessly inventive, riveting book, Raffles enters these gaps, drawing together threads of geology, history, literature, philosophy, and ethnography to trace the intimate connections between personal loss and world historical events, and to reveal the force of absence at the core of contemporary life. Through deeply researched explorations of Neolithic stone circles, Icelandic lava, mica from a Nazi concentration camp, petrified whale blubber in Svalbard, the marble prized by Manhattan's Lenape, and a huge Greenlandic meteorite that arrived in New York City along with six Inuit adventurers in 1897, Raffles shows how unconformities unceasingly incite human imagination and investigation yet refuse to conform, heal, or disappear. A journey across eons and continents, The Book of Unconformities is also a journey through stone: this most solid, ancient, and enigmatic of materials, it turns out, is as lively, capricious, willful, and indifferent as time itself.
