Book If I Could Just Touch the Hem of His Garment

Download or read book If I Could Just Touch the Hem of His Garment written by Sylvia Black and published by . This book was released on 2015-02-03 with total page 444 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Just like the women with the issue of blood she believed in her heart that if she could just touch the hem of His garment, she would be made whole and it was made so. Jesus felt the virtue go out of Him when she touched and Him and asked; who touched me? He looked at her and said your faith has made you whole. You and I can be made whole today just this woman did. The Bible says in Hebrews 11:1; 6 (KJV) says "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report. Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him." "Stand up and go. Your faith has healed you." these are the words Jesus spoke when he healed those that were afflicted and diseased, those that were broken and down trodden, those that were not a productive member of society. But when Jesus came to town everything changed. How many of yaw'll know that one touch, one word from God and everything is going to be alright. I'm not offering you a magic formula, but I am offering you knowledge and understanding about how to get what we need and want from God according to the scripture. There are rules, regulations, ordinances, laws, and so on that must be followed to maintain order. It's not about disfiguring your face in church to make people think you're holy, or wearing dresses down to your knees, or trying to talk eloquent so people will think you are holy. But it's truly about getting cleansed and set free. It's about being healed and made whole and staying that way. "Stand up and go. Your faith has healed you." Read this book and be healed and made whole today!

And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years, but no one could heal her. She came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak, and immediately her bleeding stopped. Who touched me? Jesus asked. When they all denied it, Peter said, Master, the people are crowding and pressing against you. But Jesus said, Someone touched me; I know that power has gone out from me. Then the woman, seeing that she could not go unnoticed, came trembling and fell at his feet. In the presence of all the people she told why she had touched him and how she had been instantly healed. Then he said to her Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace (Luke 8:4048 NIV). How wonderful it is to touch the very hem of His garment each time we open His words of truth in the Biblehidden treasures revealed through the presence of His Holy Spirit.

  • Pages : 730 pages

Download or read book Mark written by Adrienne Von Speyr and published by Ignatius Press. This book was released on 2012-01-01 with total page 730 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: These meditations on the Gospel of Mark, with the exception of the second part on the Passion, were given by Adrienne von Speyr between 1945 and 1958 to members of the Community of St. John, which she founded with the renowned theologian, Fr. Hans Urs von Balthasar. Adrienne is speaking to young adults who have decided to live the state of the evangelical counsels in a secular profession, as part of a recently established secular institute. Nevertheless this contemplative commentary can be very useful for all who seek to meditate on Holy Scripture. As always, Adrienne here draws from the abundance of her own contemplation which keeps continually in view the harmonious unity of Christian dogmatic truth; she gives to others what has been offered to her in contemplation, without exegetical notes or any attempt at scholarship. Since she is speaking to novices, the train of thought is simple and practical, yet rich in depth. The points for meditation are not primarily for spiritual reading, but an introduction to personal prayer. They are meant only to point out a path, because it is the Holy Spirit who directs contemplative prayer in all liberty. As one reads through this book, he will find in it a kind of synthesis of Adrienne von Speyrs spirituality. This work will also be very useful to preachers, catechists, pastors, communities and institutes who have understood with Pope Benedict XVI that It is time to reaffirm the importance of prayer in the face of the activism and the growing secularism of many Christians engaged in charitable work.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book shows Gods awesome power in todays chaotic world. Power is strength, strong natural or moral abilities, potency, possessing or exerting with great force, or an inward, God-given gift. At the end of The Wizard of Oz, we learn that Dorothy possesses the power to reach her happy destination, but didnt know how to use it! Such is the life of many Christians today. After the resurrection, Jesus said the following to His disciples: And Jesus came and spoke unto them, saying, all power is given unto me in heaven and in earth (Matthew 28:18). This book tells how we can effectively use the power that Jesus died and rose from the dead to give us. In order to live a victorious, abundant life, we must first be plugged in to the power source. This comes by receiving Jesus as our personal Lord and Savior (being born again), being baptized in water and of the Spirit, and be directed by Gods Holy Spirit through the awesome power of prayer! When Dorothy finds herself in the Land of Oz, she follows the instructions of the Good Witch, uses the power she already possesses, and finds her way home. Likewise, we can exercise the power we already possess by following the commandments of the Good Shepherd (John 10:11)! Strangely, we can learn a lot from a fairy tale, cant we?

Book excerpt: Scripture reveals a God who meets us where we are, not where we pretend to be. No More Faking Fine is your invitation to get honest with God through the life-giving language of lament. If you've ever been given empty clichés during challenging times, you know how painful it is to be misunderstood by well-meaning people. When life hurts, we often feel pressure--from others and ourselves--to keep it together, suck it up, or pray it away. But Scripture reveals a God who lovingly invites us to give honest voice to our emotions when life hits hard. For most of her life, Esther Fleece Allen believed she could bypass the painful emotions of her broken past by shutting them down altogether. She was known as an achiever and an overcomer on the fast track to success. But in silencing her pain, she robbed herself of the opportunity to be healed. Maybe you've done the same. Esther's journey into healing began when she discovered that God has given us a real-world way to deal with raw emotions and an alternative to the coping mechanisms that end up causing more pain. It's called lament--the gut-level, honest prayer that God never ignores, never silences, and never wastes. No More Faking Fine is your permission to lament, taking you on a journey down the unexpected pathway to true intimacy with God. Drawing from careful biblical study and hard-won insight, Esther reveals how to use God's own language to come closer to him as he leads us through our pain to the light on the other side, teaching you that: We are robbing ourselves of a divine mystery and a divine intimacy when we pretend to have it all together God does not expect us to be perfect; instead, he meets us where we are There is hope beyond your heartache, disappointment, and grief Like Esther, you'll soon find that when one person stops faking fine, it gives everyone else permission to do the same.
