Book excerpt: Excerpt from Inscriptions From the Two Ancient Cemeteries of Palmer, Mass With thy rude ploughshare, Death turn up the sod, And spread the furrow for the seed we sow; This is the field and acre of our God, This is the place where human harvests grow. One of the sad necessities connected with the settling of every town is the earlv setting apart of the sacred acre, where, cooner or later, the great majority must find rest after the work of life is done. And so it happened here, for on the'26th of April, 1729, death claimed Moses, the son of the pioneer John King, who first consecrated the ground set apart by the free con sent of those who settled early in the precincts of our village, as we find no account of any action on the part Olf the town con nected with it. No stone marks the place of the first burial, not of many others who soon followed. The oldest headstone in the cemetery bears this inscription: Here lies the body of Jerusha, (laughter of Capt. Nathaniel Vose of Milton, and wife of Andrew Mackee, who died Mav 22, 1732, 30 years of age. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. Book A Record of the Inscriptions on the Tablets and Grave Stones in the Burial Grounds of Christ Church Philadelphia

Download or read book A Record of the Inscriptions on the Tablets and Grave Stones in the Burial Grounds of Christ Church Philadelphia written by Edward L. Clark and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2018-02-05 with total page 696 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from A Record of the Inscriptions on the Tablets and Grave-Stones in the Burial-Grounds of Christ Church, Philadelphia: Compiled and Arranged at the Request of Vestry The design of this work is to preserve a record of the inscriptions on the tombstones in and around Christ Church and in the burial-ground at Fifth and Arch Streets. Time has made such inroads on these monu ments that many of the words are now difficult to de cipher, and on some of the stones no names are legible to tell of the remains that rest beneath; and as so many associations cluster around these monuments, it would prove a source of regret in after years that any now legible should pass into oblivion. These inscriptions, therefore, have been carefully co pied, and are presented to the reader in the following pages precisely as they appear on the tablets, so that when the hand of time may have washed away the memorial as now seen, these words, endeared to so many family circles, will remain, and the position of the graves kept in remembrance. Book excerpt: MOTHER'S MILK? What happens when the rules of boundaries and limitations do not govern our decisions? What happens when we do not receive the love, protection and guidance that we should have as children? Will we neglect our children also? What kind of people are we likely to become? Whether innocent or guilty, we must realize that all People (both good and bad, regardless of race, gender, economic status, or religious beliefs) have one commonality that makes them the same. All people began in the womb. Thus begins LaTesha Michelle's in-depth exploration of God's revelation to her of how the state of the world is directly related to the womb. In her new book, Mother's Milk, LaTesha Michelle plainly breaks down God's system for raising children, leaving no stone unturned from the pit to the pulpit, by combining Scripture along with practical instruction on how to be the mother/father and child God intends for you to be. Using real life illustrations she shows the benefits of raising children God's way as well as the consequences of not. As the world moves rapidly toward more increasingly shameful, and perilous times, it is imperative that we understand how we've come to this unfortunate state we're in, as well as learning how to be a part of the healing process one seed at a time. Mother's Milk is not just for mothers, but it is an absolute "must-read" for anyone who desires to know why they are who they are, good or bad, from the very beginning. Enlighten your knowledge, heighten your awareness and be transformed in your thinking, thus finding the true meaning of success. We must go back to the womb to go forward in life, and truly become born again!
