Book Good Morning Message

Download or read book Good Morning Message written by Peggy Edwards and published by Xulon Press. This book was released on 2010-08 with total page 388 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This daily devotional book has been a God-led inspiration from its very start-up; from its original Bible verse and note of encouragement to some coworkers and family members to people around the world via my email network. Our God is so awesome! I've had people return emails to me or speak to me and ask, "How did you know that I needed that today?" or "How did you know I was going through this?" That is when I thankfully remind them that God inspired each and every one of these devotionals. I am just being faithful and following His directions. Now I'm led to put them into a year of daily devotions book to reach others. Occasionally, my emailed devotionals have colored photographs that I take as God inspired message for the day. Unfortunately, I couldn't include those in this book. I did include a photo in grayscale at the beginning of each month; the cover photo is a God-blessed look at an Alaskan sunset. I am so thankful that God is working in my life. I want to encourage each of you to grasp hold of whatever gift He has blessed you with and step out in trust and faith to go forth and to share it with others. When you feel down, just start counting each of the blessings God has touched you with in your life; and you will feel His Presence and comfort to encourage you. We are never alone; He is just a prayer away; nothing is impossible for our God. He is not done with us yet. He is asking us to be obedient in our service to Him, and He will help us grow in our faith. Trust in Him, and you will be astounded at what He has in store for you.

Book excerpt: Amoral, cunning, ruthless, and instructive, this multi-million-copy New York Times bestseller is the definitive manual for anyone interested in gaining, observing, or defending against ultimate control – from the author of The Laws of Human Nature. In the book that People magazine proclaimed “beguiling” and “fascinating,” Robert Greene and Joost Elffers have distilled three thousand years of the history of power into 48 essential laws by drawing from the philosophies of Machiavelli, Sun Tzu, and Carl Von Clausewitz and also from the lives of figures ranging from Henry Kissinger to P.T. Barnum. Some laws teach the need for prudence (“Law 1: Never Outshine the Master”), others teach the value of confidence (“Law 28: Enter Action with Boldness”), and many recommend absolute self-preservation (“Law 15: Crush Your Enemy Totally”). Every law, though, has one thing in common: an interest in total domination. In a bold and arresting two-color package, The 48 Laws of Power is ideal whether your aim is conquest, self-defense, or simply to understand the rules of the game.

Book How the Talmud Can Change Your Life Surprisingly Modern Advice from a Very Old Book

Download or read book How the Talmud Can Change Your Life Surprisingly Modern Advice from a Very Old Book written by Liel Leibovitz and published by W. W. Norton & Company. This book was released on 2023-10-10 with total page 135 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A witty and wide-ranging exploration of a book that has perplexed and delighted people for centuries: the Talmud. For numerous centuries, the Talmud—an extraordinary work of Jewish ethics, law, and tradition—has compelled readers to grapple with how to live a good life. Full of folk legends, bawdy tales, and rabbinical repartee, it is inspiring, demanding, confounding, and thousands of pages long. As Liel Leibovitz enthusiastically explores the Talmud, what has sometimes been misunderstood as a dusty and arcane volume becomes humanity’s first self-help book. How the Talmud Can Change Your Life contains sage advice on an unparalleled scope of topics, which includes communicating with your partner, dealing with grief, and being a friend. Leibovitz guides readers through the sprawling text with all its humor, rich insights, compulsively readable stories, and multilayered conversations. Contemporary discussions framed by Talmudic philosophy and psychology draw on subjects ranging from Weight Watchers and the Dewey decimal system to the lives of Billie Holiday and C. S. Lewis. Chapters focus on fundamental human experiences—the mind-body problem, the power of community, the challenges of love—to illuminate how the Talmud speaks to our daily existence. As Leibovitz explores some of life’s greatest questions, he also delivers a concise history of the Talmud itself, explaining the process of its lengthy compilation and organization. With infectious passion and candor, Leibovitz brilliantly displays how the Talmud’s wisdom reverberates for the modern age and how it can, indeed, change your life.

Book You Can Master Your Fear

Download or read book You Can Master Your Fear written by Magdalena Scopelitis and published by BalboaPress. This book was released on 2012-06-26 with total page 396 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Be the master of your fear and you can rule over your life. Fear is the only obstacle between you and your dreams, between you and what you most love. So says Archangel Raphael, who, in this series of channelings, unravels the mysteries of fear and, through its darkest paths, guides you step by step up to the glade of love. He helps you tear away fears masks one by one till you come to know its real face; only then does he teach you the ways to transmute it into love, thus eliminating its disastrous implications. According to Archangel Raphael, fear shows that somewhere in the deepest part of your being, you have chosen hatred versus love, and your life cannot have real meaning. Only when your fear is transformed can real life happen to you. The end of your fear will signal the beginning of your life. Until that day comes, you will have just lived in a lie, in an illusion. I am only asking you to give me your fear, Archangel Raphael adds, and I will give back to you your love, the most precious gift you ever had.
