Book Semiconducting Metal Oxides for Gas Sensing

Download or read book Semiconducting Metal Oxides for Gas Sensing written by Yonghui Deng and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2023-08-23 with total page 402 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The second edition of this book focuses on the synthesis, design, and application of semiconducting metal oxides as gas sensing materials, including the gas sensing mechanism, and modification methods for sensing materials, while also providing a comprehensive introduction to semiconductor gas sensing devices. As an essential part of IoT (Internet of things), gas sensors have shown great significance and promising prospects. Therefore, studies on functional mesoporous metal oxides, one of the most important gas sensing materials based on their unique Knudsen diffusion behavior and tailored pore structure, have increasingly attracted attention from various disciplines. The book offers a valuable reference guide to metal oxide gas sensing materials for undergraduate and graduate students alike. It will also benefit all researchers who are involved in synthesis and gas sensing of metal oxides nanomaterials with relevant frontier theories and concepts. Engineers working on research and development of semiconductor gas sensors will also find some new ideas for sensor design.

Book Gas Sensors Based on Conducting Metal Oxides

Download or read book Gas Sensors Based on Conducting Metal Oxides written by Nicolae Barsan and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2018-10-17 with total page 295 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Gas Sensors Based on Conducting Metal Oxides: Basic Understanding, Technology and Applications focuses on two distinct types of gas sensors based on conducting metal oxides. Ion conduction, applied in so-called solid-state electrolytic sensors for one, and electronic conduction used in semiconductivity gas sensors for the other. The well-known ?–probe, a key component to optimize combustion in car engines, is an example of the former type, and the in-cabin car air-quality control SnO2 and WO2 sensor array stands for the semiconductivity type. Chapters cover basic aspects of functioning principles and describe the technologies and challenges of present and future sensors. - Provides reader background and context on sensors, principles, fabrication and applications - Includes chapters on specific technological applications, such as exhaust sensors, environmental sensors, explosive gases alarms and more - Presents a structured presentation that allows for quick reference of vital information

Book Tin IV Oxide based Materials Surface Chemistry Catalysis and Gas Sensing

Download or read book Tin IV Oxide based Materials Surface Chemistry Catalysis and Gas Sensing written by P. G. Harrison and published by . This book was released on 1989 with total page 29 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The advantageous semi-conducting electrical properties coupled with high activity as an oxidation catalyst renders tin(IV) oxide an excellent material for sensing very low levels of oxidizable gases such as carbon monoxide. In this application, the fundamental operation is dependent on the subtle relationship between surface adsorption phenomena and the electrical changes thereby induced in the bulk.

Download or read book Doped Tin Oxide Gas Sensors written by Shriram Patil and published by LAP Lambert Academic Publishing. This book was released on 2013 with total page 116 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Our society requires gas sensors for domestic, automotive, industrial applications due to the implication of gases in environmental control or dangerous emissions. Metal oxide resistive gas sensors are used in monitoring toxic gases as they offer very high sensitivity and relatively long-term stability. To enhance the sensor behavior doped semiconductor oxides material is used. In this context the author's contribution was to use the dopant like cobalt and molybdenum in noble material SnO2, which is the most extensively studied oxide for the sensor application. Its objectives were to develop a smart, mobile gas sensor system with low power consumption. For the synthesis spray Pyrolysis system has been used.To study the sensing characteristics towards detection of different gases and vapors, in air, compatible gas sensing systems were used. The author has investigated the influence of synthesis temperature, concentrations of precursor and dopant materials on gas sensing behavior in terms of the sensitivity, selectivity, response and recovery times. This book will help, who work on synthesis of thin films, especially using spray pyrolysis technique and the gas sensing characteristics.
