Book Three Dimensional Grain Stress Analysis Based on the Boundary Integral Equation Method Volume I Analytical Formulation

Download or read book Three Dimensional Grain Stress Analysis Based on the Boundary Integral Equation Method Volume I Analytical Formulation written by Alexander L. Deak and published by . This book was released on 1975 with total page 107 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This report presents the theory of the three-dimensional grain stress analysis program based on the boundary integral equation method, which is based on a surface integral representation of the theory of elasticity for isotropic and linearly elastic solids. The boundary integral equation method is also extended to include body forces which are derivable from a potential function. Particular boundary solutions are generated within the strain potential approach which are combined with the prescribed boundary conditions to define a homogeneous problem. This problem is then solved by the boundary integral equation method. Cyclic symmetry considerations are also included in the analysis. The numerical results are compared with those of the finite element analysis for typical solid propellant grain configurations. Volume I is devoted to theoretical and numerical formulations.

Book Stress Analysis by Boundary Element Methods

Download or read book Stress Analysis by Boundary Element Methods written by J. Balaš and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2013-10-22 with total page 699 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The boundary element method is an extremely versatile and powerful tool of computational mechanics which has already become a popular alternative to the well established finite element method. This book presents a comprehensive and up-to-date treatise on the boundary element method (BEM) in its applications to various fields of continuum mechanics such as: elastostatics, elastodynamics, thermoelasticity, micropolar elasticity, elastoplasticity, viscoelasticity, theory of plates and stress analysis by hybrid methods. The fundamental solution of governing differential equations, integral representations of the displacement and temperature fields, regularized integral representations of the stress field and heat flux, boundary integral equations and boundary integro-differential equations are derived. Besides the mathematical foundations of the boundary integral method, the book deals with practical applications of this method. Most of the applications concentrate mainly on the computational problems of fracture mechanics. The method has been found to be very efficient in stress-intensity factor computations. Also included are developments made by the authors in the boundary integral formulation of thermoelasticity, micropolar elasticity, viscoelasticity, plate theory, hybrid method in elasticity and solution of crack problems. The solution of boundary-value problems of thermoelasticity and micropolar thermoelasticity is formulated for the first time as the solution of pure boundary problems. A new unified formulation of general crack problems is presented by integro-differential equations.

Book Finite Element Bibliography

Download or read book Finite Element Bibliography written by Gerard De Vries and published by Springer. This book was released on 1976-12 with total page 706 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Thjs bibliography had its inception in 1967, when the compilers first attempted a comprehensive cov erage of the finite element literature using both manual and computer-based retrieval. Initially, the data base was stored on a card index, but this was subsequently transferred to punched cards and magnetic tape. Computer processing was adopted at an early stage to derive the three index formats from the data base. Over the subsequent years, several versions of the bibliography were produced, with two of these being made available in a report form to other researchers. From the widespread interest in these documents, it became evident that there was a need for a commercially-available comprehensive bibliography in this area. A major effort was undertaken to revise, update, and extend the data base, resulting in this present volume. The bibliography covers the period 1956-1975 primarily, although some earlier publications of histori cal interest are included. The citations are not restricted to the English language and documents are listed in many languages and from diverse places of origin. All publication formats were accepted, so that references will be found to books, monographs, journal papers and articles, theses, dissertations, reports, surveys, and the like.
