Book excerpt: How do we hear from God and discern His will when it’s time to make big decisions? Terry Looper shares a four-step process for doing just that - a process he has learned and refined over thirty years as a Christian entrepreneur and founder of a multi-billion dollar company. At just thirty-six years old, Terry Looper was a successful Christian businessman who thought he had it all—until managing all he had led to a devastating burnout. Wealthy beyond his wildest dreams but miserable beyond belief, Terry experienced a radical transformation when he discovered how to align himself with God’s will in the years following his crash and burn. Sacred Pace is a four-step process that helps Christians in all walks of life learn how to slow down their decision-making under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, sift through their surface desires and sinful patterns in order to receive clear, peace-filled answers from the Lord, gain the confident assurance that God’s answers are His way of fulfilling the true desires he has placed in their hearts, and grow closer to the One who loves them most and knows them best. Sacred Pace is not another example of name-it-and-claim-it materialism in disguise. Instead, it walks Christians through the sometimes-painful process of “dying to self” in their decisions, both big and small, so that they desire God’s will more than their own.

Book The Purpose Driven Life

Download or read book The Purpose Driven Life written by Rick Warren and published by Zondervan. This book was released on 2009-03-17 with total page 361 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Another Landmark Book by Rick Warren. You are not an accident. Even before the universe was created, God had you in mind, and he planned you for his purposes. These purposes will extend far beyond the few years you will spend on earth. You were made to last forever! Self-help books often suggest that you try to discover the meaning and purpose of your life by looking within yourself, but Rick Warren says that is the wrong place to start. You must begin with God, your Creator, and his reasons for creating you. You were made by God and for God, and until you understand that, life will never make sense. This book will help you understand why you are alive and God's amazing plan for you---both here and now, and for eternity. Rick Warren will guide you through a personal 40-day spiritual journey that will transform your answer to life's most important question: What on earth am I here for? Knowing God's purpose for creating you will reduce your stress, focus your energy, simplify your decisions, give meaning to your life, and, most importantly, prepare you for eternity. The Purpose Driven Life is a blueprint for Christian living in the 21st century---a lifestyle based on God's eternal purposes, not cultural values. Using over 1,200 scriptural quotes and references, it challenges the conventional definitions of worship, fellowship, discipleship, ministry, and evangelism. In the tradition of Oswald Chambers, Rick Warren offers distilled wisdom on the essence of what life is all about. This is a book of hope and challenge that you will read and re-read, and it will be a classic treasured by generations to come.

Her experience showed her the missing component in treating depression. In Hope Prevails, Dr. Bengtson writes with deep compassion, blending her training and faith, to offer readers a hope grounded in God's love and grace. She helps readers understand what depression is, how it affects them spiritually, and what, by God's grace, it cannot do. For those who struggle with depression and those who want to help them, Hope Prevails offers hope for the future.

Book There Is Purpose In Pain And There Is Pain In Purpose

Download or read book There Is Purpose In Pain And There Is Pain In Purpose written by Xavier Jones and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2018-07-27 with total page 31 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Pain is something that is inevitable in the earthly realm. Some pain, we can manage through and eventually get over it, yet some pain that we endure causes lifelong battles and even weaknesses that we fight and struggle with every day. Some struggles causes us to think that God left us or that He would not even want us because of our weakness, but what if it was the opposite? It was Paul in his second letter to Corinth that detailed his conversation with the Heavenly Father. He stated that he possessed a thorn that he asked to be taken from him on three separate occasions, but God answered back and told him that His grace is all that Paul needed, and His strength was made perfect in Paul's weakness. So Paul decided that he would rejoice in everything that he had to go through, because when he was weak, God's strength was there to complete him. What God showed Paul, He also is trying to show us. Today's generation has many different struggles and weaknesses, and they have learned grown to mask themselves as anger, depression, which leads to many different sad situations that we see in everyday life, such as murder, suicide, violence, etc. This generation has ran from the church because instead of loving and instructing, the church has turned into a judgmental, self-righteous form of a god that does not exist. Once the true nature of God is revealed and the feel of his genuine love is found, one will see that there is truly a purpose for everything encountered up to this point. The pain was necessary for the birthing of your purpose! That is what this book is all about, reaching a generation to let them know that there is truly a purpose in every suffering and trial that we must go through. There is a cycle that many people are stuck in because they have no idea how to unlock the promise that God has for them, just like Xavier didn't. He thought God had left him, so in turn, he went in the opposite direction, drowning himself deeper and deeper in sorrow. But each and every word and idea in this book is for a specific purpose: to oppose every demonic spirit that tries to hold the mind captive through the hurt and pain we experience.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: While being a Christian, can I drown in pain? Yes, you can!!! Some may say I'm saved, and everything in my life is perfect; others may say I'm saved, but hurting from past or recent family hurt, relationship hurt, church hurt, loss of a loved one, molestation, rape, etc. This book is for you if you have experienced any hurt in your life. For some Christians, life isn't always about rainbows and butterflies. Sometimes, life just sucks, and we get hurt in the process. People leave you, you experience heartbreak, someone mistreats you, and you make mistakes you can't undo. Some may say, "What do I do when I wake up in the morning with this pain in my chest? What do I do when I feel like I'm drowning and can't breathe because it hurts so badly? What do I do when I feel like the only thing I can do is stay in bed for the rest of my life because of sadness? What do I do?" This book will remind you, as a Christian, to really understand how to truly be a Romans 8:28 Christian (and we know that in all things, God works for the good of those who love him).

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Discover the Divine Purpose for Your Pain Pain is an enigma—a haunting reality—we all face. Whether the pain you are experiencing is chronic or the result of a new injury or illness, you have no doubt asked the Lord, Why? Why must I suffer? Why must the pain be so intense or so never-ending? Elmer Towns confronted similar questions as he withstood the debilitating effects of cancer treatment. As he sought to find something precious in the enduring, Towns realized that pain can draw the mature believer into closer intimacy with God. Pain: The Divine Mystery will help you look at your own suffering through the eyes of the Master Sculptor—He who has the highest purpose in place for your life. You will be challenged to examine your deepest fears, to discover God’s part in your healing, and to pursue better overall health in the process. You will find, as Towns did, that even pain can be endured when you have a purpose to live through it. As you seek to understand the “why” behind your own suffering, God will reveal much more than you can imagine: He will reveal Himself.
