Book Mather S Theological Compendium

Download or read book Mather S Theological Compendium written by Dennis Mather and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2014-03-31 with total page 144 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: These are exciting times to be living in. It is just before Jesus Christ returns to be the King of kings and Lord of lords. There are many signs that point to this, and I discuss a few of them in this book. Im not going to tell you when this happens, because Jesus didn't know when he was here on earth. He said it was not for us to know. But Im sure He knows now, as He sits at the right hand of God the Father. One of the ways we know that the time is near is that knowledge has increased dramatically in the last fifty years. Ultimately it all points to God as the creator of the universe. We have the internet to dispense our knowledge, and it is pretty much worldwide. This is one of the ways that an imposter known as the Anti-Christ will take over a worldwide government that has been established and set up his own regime. Everyone will know this is their leader, because it will be broadcast by satellite. My advice is to read this book to decipher what the Bible says about these exciting times we are living in. As one of my favorite contemporary Christian music groups, Whiteheart, said in the title of one of their albums, Read the book, dont wait for the movie.

Book Compendium of the Study of Theology

Download or read book Compendium of the Study of Theology written by Rogerus Bacon and published by Brill Archive. This book was released on 1988 with total page 216 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In Part I the author draws on classical authors to illustrate three causes of error in his time and underscores the need for an integral understanding of the signification of terms. In Part II he proposes six themes: a new classification of signs; a theory that common terms signify principally objects, not concepts; connotation as natural signification; common terms signifying an entity and a nonentity are equivocal; terms can lose their signification; a non-Aristotelian classification of equivocation in six modes. Bacon was a very original semanticist and some of his theories helped pave the way for Ockham a few decades later. This treatise opens many windows on to the debate on semantics in the late 13th century.

Book Compendium of Theology By Thomas Aquinas

Download or read book Compendium of Theology By Thomas Aquinas written by Richard J Regan and published by Oxford University Press. This book was released on 2009-05-28 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Towards the end of his life, St. Thomas Aquinas produced a brief, non-technical work summarizing some of the main points of his massive Summa Theologiae. This 'compendium' was intended as an introductory handbook for students and scholars who might not have access to the larger work. It remains the best concise introduction to Aquinas's thought. Furthermore, it is extremely interesting to scholars because it represents Aquinas's last word on these topics. Aquinas does not break new ground or re-think earlier positions but often states them more directly and with greater precision than can be found elsewhere. There is only one available English translation of the Compendium (published as 'Aquinas's Shorter Summa: Saint Thomas's Own Concise Version of his Summa Theologiae,' by Sophia Institute Press). It is published by a very small Catholic publishing house, is marketed to the devotional readership, contains no scholarly apparatus. Richard Regan is a highly respected Aquinas translator, who here relies on the definitive Leonine edition of the Latin text. His work will be received as the premier English version of this important text.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is Book One of a six book series on Nazarene soteriology (salvation). This book applies the insights gained from studying 2,000 years of Christian salvation to our modern situation. It examines modern salvation experiences as interpreted by Scripture, Christian tradition, rational responses, and emotional encounters with God. The perspective comes from the Nazarene view of two works of grace as Christian Conversion and Holy Purpose. Holy Purpose always follows Christian Conversion. The other five books look at previous historical periods.

Book John Wesley s Teachings Volume 1

Download or read book John Wesley s Teachings Volume 1 written by Thomas C. Oden and published by Zondervan Academic. This book was released on 2012-08-07 with total page 240 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The first presentation of John Wesley's doctrinal teachings in a systematic form that is also faithful to Wesley's own writings in ebook format. Wesley was a prolific writer and commentator on Scripture, yet it is commonly held that he was not systematic or internally consistent in his theology and doctrinal teachings. On the contrary, Thomas C. Oden intends to demonstrate here that Wesley displayed a remarkable degree of consistency over sixty years of preaching and ministry. The book helps readers to grasp Wesley's essential teachings in an accessible form so that the person desiring to go directly to Wesley's own writings (which fill eighteen volumes) will know exactly where to turn. This volume focuses on Wesley's doctrinal teaching. Other volumes in this series deal with his ethical and pastoral care teachings.
