Book excerpt: Includes a sneak peek of Undoctored—the new book from Dr. Davis! In this #1 New York Times bestseller, a renowned cardiologist explains how eliminating wheat from our diets can prevent fat storage, shrink unsightly bulges, and reverse myriad health problems. Every day, over 200 million Americans consume food products made of wheat. As a result, over 100 million of them experience some form of adverse health effect, ranging from minor rashes and high blood sugar to the unattractive stomach bulges that preventive cardiologist William Davis calls "wheat bellies." According to Davis, that excess fat has nothing to do with gluttony, sloth, or too much butter: It's due to the whole grain wraps we eat for lunch. After witnessing over 2,000 patients regain their health after giving up wheat, Davis reached the disturbing conclusion that wheat is the single largest contributor to the nationwide obesity epidemic—and its elimination is key to dramatic weight loss and optimal health. In Wheat Belly, Davis exposes the harmful effects of what is actually a product of genetic tinkering and agribusiness being sold to the American public as "wheat"—and provides readers with a user-friendly, step-by-step plan to navigate a new, wheat-free lifestyle. Informed by cutting-edge science and nutrition, along with case studies from men and women who have experienced life-changing transformations in their health after waving goodbye to wheat, Wheat Belly is an illuminating look at what is truly making Americans sick and an action plan to clear our plates of this seemingly benign ingredient.

Book Becoming an Intentional Woman of God

Download or read book Becoming an Intentional Woman of God written by Nancy Wheat and published by . This book was released on 2021-03-19 with total page 102 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Why write a book about intentional women you ask? I have spent many hours listening to tearful, frustrated and discouraged preacher's wives pour their hearts out. Women who honestly want to serve God but have such a load on their shoulders they feel immobilized. These women bear a burden of unrealistic and even unbiblical expectations. I want this book to be one that will help lift that load. I hope to present a biblical "expectation"; I want to honor and praise these sisters for the hard role they fill so very well. Then, having been a preacher's wife for over thirty years, I hope to add some tips, stories and advice that will help them to be God's person in their unique spot. The struggle to find how God wants us to fit in the kingdom does not just occur with preacher's wives, however. I find that many women don't know what God has gifted them to do. So, this book is for all Christian women. I pray all women will find things in this book to enable them to shine for Jesus. I hope to talk about how we can strengthen ourselves spiritually so that we can take Satan on in life's spiritual battle. I will cover topics such as spiritual nutrition, marriage, parenting, mission work, hospitality, and how to remain content. I have also asked many female leaders to share with me their advice, their heartaches, their victories and their heroines' stories. These are women whose walk I admire and try to emulate - not perfect women but ones who know that the power is God's and that whatever we do we do only because He enables us.I pray that women will leave the reading of this book better prepared to keep on keeping on. I hope to do what Hebrews 10:24 tells us to: "Let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works." My prayer is that this book will help us all be the women God intended us to be. Becoming this woman doesn't just "happen." We won't drift into being godly women. It has to be intentional. And so I give you this book of what I have gleaned from 60 years of living, the wisdom of my heroines of faith and most importantly God's precious love letter to us in his word. There can be no better manual for the intentional Christian woman.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Spirit-led Christian is living in a world that is diametrically opposed to every value of God. The maturing believer is called by God Himself to jettison all values that are not His so the believer's character can become Christ-like. Possessing the Treasure looks closely at our "Spiritual Treasure." We are called to submit entirely to the regenerative process through which the Lord takes all of His true children. Those who endure the fires of sanctification will become the Christ-like believers who recognize their Treasure. The Christian walk of faith is accomplished successfully by those who understand they have entered into a blood covenant with their Savior. They value their citizenship in the Kingdom of God as their most valuable treasure.

Book excerpt: The summer of 1919 is over, and on the high prairie, a small army of men, women, and machines moves across the land, bringing in the wheat harvest. Custom threshers, steam engineers, bindlestiffs, cooks, camp followers, and hobos join the tide. Prosperous farmers proudly proclaim “Rain follows the plow,” meaning that the bounty of the land will never be exhausted. Everywhere, people gleefully embrace the gospels of progress and greed. The threshing season is on. But there is also an evil upon the land. A killer who calls himself the Windmill Man believes he has a holy calling to water the newly plucked earth with blood. For him, the moving harvest is a target-rich environment, an endless supply of ready victims. He has been killing for years now and intends to kill for many more. Who could stop him? Nobody even knew he existed. Until now. A young man named Charlie Krueger also follows the harvest. Jilted by his childhood sweetheart and estranged from his drunkard father, he hopes to find a new life as a steam engineer. But in a newly harvested field in the nearly black Dakota night, he has come upon a strange man digging a grave. And in that moment, he has become the only person who can stop the evil, if he lives long enough. For the killer knows his name and his wanderings, and he, too, is now a target. When next they meet, one of them will have to die.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is a lively exploration of the amazing revelation known to Mormons as the “Word of Wisdom.” It counsels us how and what we should eat to reach our highest potential, both physically and spiritually. New and surprising insights are presented through the perspective of what has been proven to be the healthiest human diet, a way of eating supported both by history and by science: a whole food, plant-based (WFPB) diet. WFPB vegetarian diets have been scientifically proven to both prevent and cure chronic disease, help you achieve your maximum physical potential, and make it easy to reach and maintain your ideal weight. In this book, you’ll find the stories of dozens of people who are enjoying the blessings of following a Word of Wisdom diet, and you’ll get concrete advice on how to get started! You will discover: What we should and should not eat to enjoy maximum physical health. How food is intimately connected to our spiritual well being. Why Latter-day Saints are succumbing to the same chronic diseases as the rest of the population, despite not smoking, drinking, or doing drugs. How the Word of Wisdom was designed specifically for our day. How you can receive the “hidden treasures” and other blessings promised in the Word of Wisdom. Why eating the foods God has ordained for our use is better not just for our bodies, but for the animals and for the earth. You may think you know what the Word of Wisdom says, but you’ll be amazed at what you have missed. Learn why Mormons all over the world are “waking up” to the Word of Wisdom!

Book The Mystery of God s Woman and Her Seed

Download or read book The Mystery of God s Woman and Her Seed written by Rev. Stanley Curby and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2009-02-28 with total page 194 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book demonstrates, through the full text of the scriptures, that women have the same God-given rights as men to preach, teach, and serve in the same offices of the church as men, doing everything spiritually that men do according to the leading of the Holy Spirit. The apostle Paul wrote, And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God who worketh in all But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as He will (1 Cor. 12:6, 11). It also shows that the opposition against the women that are called to preach and teach the word of God is a calculated plan that is instigated by Satan to prevent them from fulfilling the will of God.
