One day in May, Gracie, her dog, Sniggles, Bob the crow, Lucy the cat and Ziggy the squirrel, met a caterpillar named Mo. He wasn’t like the other insects, he felt different. He had feelings deep down inside that sometimes made him cry. All he could do was crawl, but that wasn’t all; he wanted to fly, but he didn’t know why. On that sunny day in May, after having a snack, Mo took a nap. Much to their surprise, when they checked on him, they couldn’t believe their eyes. Mo was in a different place, incased in a different space. They decided to take Mo to Mr. Finkelstein, who always knew what to do. “Mo needs to get to Cocoon Cove!” he exclaimed. Follow Gracie and Sniggles on this whimsical adventure through Willow Woods, across Rainbow Road, and onto Cocoon Cove.

They have moved out of the city and into the suburbs. When they arrive, they set out to explore their new surroundings. They meet a crow named Bob, Lucy the cat, Ziggy the squirrel, and Bumble a wee little bee who has somehow been painted blue. Bumble is sad because the queen bee will not allow him back into the hive because he is not yellow, like his fellows. The new friends set out together, following clues to figure out how Bumble was covered in blue goo, and what they can do to help him. Gracie and her friends remind us of the importance of kindness, acceptance and friendship. This beautifully illustrated children's book is timely, when our world seems so divided. Young readers will enjoy the fun that the new friends have together, and the characters they meet along the way. Parents will appreciate the valuable message it offers about tolerance and compassion. It's a fun read for adults and children alike.

This book was released on 2021-11-23 with total page 120 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book Using Japanese Paper for Digital Printing of Photographs

Download or read book Using Japanese Paper for Digital Printing of Photographs written by Carl-Evert Jonsson and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2021-05-17 with total page 72 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Using Japanese paper on digitally printing photos can yield tremendous results for photographers who are interested in experimenting with new methods. But beware: The common concept of how photographs should look will be challenged if you decide to use this technique. Carl-Evert Jonsson shares his experiences using the experimental technique in this book. After using Japanese papers (washi) for paintings and collages, he started to use the papers for his photos. This technique is not an alternative to classic film-based photography. Ink is injected from a cartridge in a printer connected to a computer then the image is reproduced on printable washi paper. Darkroom facilities are not needed. All you need is a computer, printer, washi, and photos. The liveliness of washi fibres gives a softer result, and washi is more absorbent than Western papers, with the ink appearing integrated rather than sitting on the printed surface. Find out how to use a method that will give new life to photos with the insights in this unique photography book.

Book Slaves of the One They Chose to Obey

Download or read book Slaves of the One They Chose to Obey written by Shinete Christina Maunze and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2021-01-28 with total page 198 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: About the Book When Amelia’s father died in 1977, her family lived in peace and unity. Her father, Johannes Macala, didn’t believe in diviners though he wasn’t a Christian. However, he occasionally visited mediums, attempting to find explanations for the sickness and misfortune that sometimes dogged the family. Each time he returned from these consultations, the result was the same: he assaulted the medium with his knobkerrie and refused to pay him his fee because he had lied. After Johannes’ death his children had more faith in witchdoctors and prophets than he did. Each sought out witchdoctors, while some consulted the Apostolic Church Prophets when confronted with family death or sickness. The result divided the once united and peaceful family into fragments that could take years to reunite. The shattered family graduated from hating each other to hiring hitmen to poison each other’s children, all on the advice of the prophets and witchdoctors. In Slaves of the One They Chose to Obey, Amelia, the youngest girl and first Christian in the family, shares her story, spreading the message about the dangers of false prophets and diviners.
