Download or read book The Wellness 8 written by Jeremy Reynolds and published by . This book was released on 2017-09-10 with total page 122 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Jeremy (Reynolds) has mastered habit two-he begins each endeavor with the end in mind. He has the ability to imagine himself having, being or doing something in the future and he sees that image so clearly that it becomes completely real to him as he moves closer toward it everyday. Intellectual creation always precedes physical creation. How different our lives are when we really know what is deeply important to us and we manage ourselves each day to be and do what matters most."--Stephen R. Covey from the book, The Seven Habits of Successful Network Marketing Professionals. In this book you'll discover the eight dimensions of total "wellness." Jeremy calls them "The Wellness 8." Wellness is more than just an absence of physical ailments. We can be physically healthy and still not be "well." If we are emotionally, socially, or spiritually sick, we are not "well." When people ask how we are doing, we want to be able to say, "I'm well!"- and mean it in every way. We want to be emotionally, financially, intellectually, socially, and spiritually well, in addition to being physically well.In this book you will learn:?A mindset of growth, possibility, and positivity? To let go of the "clutter" that holds you back? The value of, and the tools to achieve financial freedom?Leveraging the power of owning your own business? The advantage of nonstop learning and how you can take implement this powerful mindset with your current busy schedule? The power and value of kindness?Practical application guidance for Millennials, Gen Xers, and Baby Boomers for each of the 8 dimensions of wellness. In short, we will explore how you can grow personally beyond anything you've imagined if you'll make The Wellness 8 a focus in your life.

Book excerpt: From my own research and from my dad's precious teaching I've extracted eight basic dimensions of wellness: emotional, environmental, financial, intellectual, occupational, physical, social, and spiritual. I can almost hear my dad's voice teaching me correct principles in each of these dimensions. This book is about what I am learning. It's about eight things to do to get life right. It's like a wheel with eight spokes. If just one of the spokes is broken or missing, the whole ride is bumpy at best-and ruined at worst. I call them the Wellness 8. In life, wellness is more than just being healthy. It's about doing well and even more about being well. I could be physically toned and have lots of money and be the life of the party and still have a miserable life. Each of the Wellness 8 is about the kind of person I am, not just the stuff I do or the things I have. We begin down inside the human heart with Emotional Wellness. I believe that healthy living begins with the emotions. People who are sharing, contributing and making a difference are emotionally well. People in emotional turmoil can't get their lives right in any other dimension, but once they are at peace inside, they can move forward with greater ease. The environmental dimension is all about managing your personal surroundings to bypass the negative (people, thoughts, media, self-talk) and to increase the positive (serving and sharing with others). It necessarily follows emotional wellness. My emotional life is like a well of water. If it stagnates, I'll be a source of poison to the outside world. If I do the things that create good emotional health, like reading good books, exercising, meditating, doing regular deep breathing exercises, the water springs,

Book excerpt: With so much attention on becoming our "best self," a fragmented view of wellness has emerged. This perspective has us focused on diets, exercise programs, biometric screening numbers, stress levels, etc. More enlightened approaches have grown to include mental well-being and mindfulness, but few invite us to draw from the source, the Divine realm-the God realm. True holistic wellness can only be accessed in the place where we've done our part as successfully as we can, given our mental and physical abilities, then submitting the rest to God. There, God takes us to a new level of wellness where we have joy and fulfillment that is hard to describe. In this book, you will encounter the Well With God model placing God at the center-the source-and influencing these eight dimensions of wellness: Physical Wellness, Financial Wellness, Mental Wellness, Environmental Wellness, Occupational Wellness, Intellectual Wellness, Social Wellness, Spiritual Wellness

Book excerpt: Life-Altering Secrets from Today’s Cutting-Edge Doctors and the #1 New York Times Bestselling Author of Ageless Today’s most trusted advocate of antiaging medicine, Suzanne Somers, deepens her commitment to helping people lead healthier, happier lives by opening their eyes to cutting-edge, proven remedies and preventative care that most doctors just aren’t talking about with patients: longevity medicine and the more progressive study of bioidentical hormones. As we age, certain hormones diminish, creating an imbalance that can set off everything from perimenopause to cancer, beginning as early as our thirties. This hormonal imbalance is causing many to feel depressed, anxious, fatigued, sexless, sleepless, and ultimately ill, sometimes even terminally. What’s more, Somers and twenty doctors in the field of antiaging medicine argue that the processed chemicals in foods and pharmaceuticals we ply ourselves with are actually slowly eroding our bodies and minds. So we’re getting slammed twice. From estrogen dominance to deceptive thyroid problems, people are suffering, and most don’t have access to the treatment they truly need to get better and thrive . . . until now. Breakthrough explores cutting-edge science and delivers smart, proactive advice on the newest treatments for breakthrough health and longevity. In addition to being a pioneer in a rapidly growing health field, Somers is a passionate, caring individual whose own life was derailed by disease and brought back to unimaginable, feel good heights that she wants you, too, to experience.

Book Mental Wellness in Adults with Down Syndrome

Download or read book Mental Wellness in Adults with Down Syndrome written by Dennis McGuire and published by . This book was released on 2021 with total page 466 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This thoroughly updated second edition of MENTAL WELLNESS IN ADULTS WITH DOWN SYNDROME is upbeat and accessible in tone, yet encyclopedic in scope. The size of the book reflects both the breadth of the authors' knowledge--acquired as cofounders of the first medical clinic dedicated solely to the care of adults with Down syndrome--and the number of psychosocial issues and mental disorders that can affect people with Down syndrome. It's the go-to guide for parents, health practitioners, and caregivers who support teens and adults with Down syndrome. MENTAL WELLNESS emphasizes that understanding and appreciating both the strengths and challenges of people with Down syndrome is the key to promoting good mental health. It shows readers how to distinguish between bona fide mental health issues and common characteristics of Down syndrome--quirks or coping strategies. For example, although talking to oneself can be a sign of psychosis, many adults with Down syndrome use self-talk as an effective problem-solving strategy. The second edition includes new chapters on sensory issues (written by Dr. Katie Frank) and regression, expanded and now separate chapters on communication, concrete thinking, and visual memory, and an extensively updated chapter on Alzheimer's disease citing abundant new research. Other chapters cover a range of conditions and assessment and treatment options: What Is Normal? Self-Esteem & Self-Image Self-Talk Grooves & Flexibility Life-Span Issues Social Skills Mood & Anxiety Disorders Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder Psychotic Disorders Eating Refusal Challenging Behavior Self-Injurious Behavior Autism Tics, Tourette Syndrome & Stereotypies While it's not inevitable that people with Down syndrome will experience mental health problems, certain biological differences and environmental stressors can create greater susceptibility. Assessment and treatment options are detailed for each condition. With this guide, caregivers will be able to foster good mental health and troubleshoot challenging mental health issues.
