In second paper an exponential ratio-product type estimator in stratified random sampling is proposed and its properties are studied under second order approximation. In third paper some estimators are proposed in two-phase sampling and their properties are studied in the presence of non-response. In fourth chapter a family of median based estimator is proposed in simple random sampling. In fifth paper some difference type estimators are suggested in simple random sampling and stratified random sampling and their properties are studied in presence of measurement error.

Book Use of Auxiliary Information for Estimating Population Mean in Systematic Sampling under Non Response

Download or read book Use of Auxiliary Information for Estimating Population Mean in Systematic Sampling under Non Response written by Manoj K. Chaudhary and published by Infinite Study. This book was released on with total page 13 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this paper we have adapted Singh and Shukla (1987) estimator in systematic sampling using auxiliary information in the presence of non-response. The properties of the suggested family have been discussed. Expressions for the bias and mean square error (MSE) of the suggested family have been derived. The comparative study of the optimum estimator of the family with ratio, product, dual to ratio and sample mean estimators in systematic sampling under non-response has also been done. One numerical illustration is carried out to verify the theoretical results.

Book Some Improved Estimators of Population Mean Using Information on Two Auxiliary Attributes

Download or read book Some Improved Estimators of Population Mean Using Information on Two Auxiliary Attributes written by Hemant Verma and published by Infinite Study. This book was released on with total page 9 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this paper, we have studied the problem of estimating the finite population mean when information on two auxiliary attributes are available. Some improved estimators in simple random sampling without replacement have been suggested and their properties are studied. The expressions of mean squared error’s (MSE’s) up to the first order of approximation are derived. An empirical study is carried out to judge the best estimator out of the suggested estimators.

Book Role of Auxiliary Information in Estimation of Population Mean

Download or read book Role of Auxiliary Information in Estimation of Population Mean written by Manish Sharma and published by LAP Lambert Academic Publishing. This book was released on 2011-02 with total page 136 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In survey sampling we are often concerned with the estimation of population parameters with the use of auxiliary information, which may be available (or made available by diverting a part of the resources) in one form or the other. If used properly, this information may provide better estimates than those where such information is not used. In this context improved classes of estimators of population mean with the use of auxiliary information, improved ratio and product type of estimators have been developed for estimation of population mean of study variable .The families of estimators of mean have been proposed for various situations of auxiliary characters such as when variance is known and population mean unknown, when variance is unknown and population mean known and neither population mean nor variance is known. Further various classes of improved ratio type estimators and product type estimators have been developed. The large sample properties of the proposed estimators of mean, ratio and product type estimators have been compared with conventional and other estimators through empirical study for different sample sizes.

Book Improvement in Estimating The Population Mean Using Dual To Ratio Cum Product Estimator in Simple Random Sampling

Book A General Procedure of Estimating Population Mean Using Information on Auxiliary Attribute

Download or read book A General Procedure of Estimating Population Mean Using Information on Auxiliary Attribute written by Sachin Malik and published by Infinite Study. This book was released on with total page 11 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This paper deals with the problem of estimating the finite population mean when some information on auxiliary attribute is available. It is shown that the proposed estimator is more efficient than the usual mean estimator and other existing estimators. The results have been illustrated numerically by taking empirical population considered in the literature.

Book A General Class of Estimators of Population Median Using Two Auxiliary Variables in Double Sampling

This book was released on with total page 21 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this paper we have suggested two classes of estimators for population median MY of the study character Y using information on two auxiliary characters X and Z in double sampling. It has been shown that the suggested classes of estimators are more efficient than the one suggested by Singh et al (2001). Estimators based on estimated optimum values have been also considered with their properties. The optimum values of the first phase and second phase sample sizes are also obtained for the fixed cost of survey.

Book Auxiliary Information And Estimation Of Population Mean

Download or read book Auxiliary Information And Estimation Of Population Mean written by Subhash Kumar Yadav and published by LAP Lambert Academic Publishing. This book was released on 2014-01 with total page 64 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is very much fruitful for the researchers working in the field of sampling. In this book basically the estimation of population men of the main variable under study has been considered using auxiliary variable, which is highly correlated with the main variable. The use of auxiliary information increases the efficiency of the estimator of the population parameter under consideration. In this book different estimators have been considered for the estimation of population mean and their large sample properties have been discussed in detail.
