Download or read book The True Nectar written by Ibn Kathir and published by Independently Published. This book was released on 2019-04-27 with total page 350 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: O'God, hold me responsible for that which I say: Every dollar from the sale of this book goes to help God's poor and homeless creatures. Although there are many better biographies about the Noble Prophet (peace be upon him), they are not completely accurate. Who were the eyewitnesses to such events? Or did the authors purposely misled the readers to present a negative view of Islam and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). If you want an accurate history of Islam, read Ibn Kathir. He wrote over 48 books and over 60,000 pages. He lived in a time when people feared Allah far more and died in a righteous state. The Prophet (peace be upon him) was sent as a mercy NOT only to Mankind but to all the creations, and this includes all animals. His teachings further preserved the sanctity of animals and reinforced how people must honor and respect all of God's creation. Before you step on ant or harm a cat or dog, memorize the following Hadith: Allah's Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "An ant had bitten Prophet Uzair (peace be upon him), one of the Prophets sent to the Children of Israel. So he ordered that the colony of the ants be burnt. Then Allah revealed to him: "Because of an ant's bite you have burnt a community from amongst the communities which sings My Glory." When a writer, leader, or Imam purposely misleads his audience, that person will be held responsible in front of Allah for what an ignorant person does with such information. Take for example, the suicide bomber: he is ready to die, according to what? Allah has not given anyone the right to kill or to even kill oneself! Bukhari vol.5 book 59 no.515 p.364 and vol.5 book 59 no.518 p.376 tell of a Muslim warrior, who was wounded seriously, so he took some arrows out of his quiver and killed himself and went to Hell. Here is the quote: Bukhari vol.5 book 59 no.515 p.364. "Narrated Abu Huraira: We witnessed (the battle of) Khaibar. Allah's Prophet (peace be upon him) said about one of those who were with him and who claimed to be a Muslim, 'This (man) is from the dwellers of the Hell-Fire.' When the battle started, that fellow fought so violently and bravely that he received plenty of wounds. Some of the people were about to doubt ( the Prophet's statement ), but the man, feeling the pain of his wounds, put his hand into his quiver and took out of it, some arrows with which he slaughtered himself (i.e. committed suicide). Then some men amongst the Muslims came hurriedly and said, 'O Allah's Apostle! Allah has made your statement true; so-and-so has committed suicide.' The Prophet said, 'O so-and-so! Get up and make an announcement that none but a believer will enter Paradise and that Allah may support (this) religion with an unchaste (evil) wicked man.'"

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: With a reverence for the universality of all religions, SRV Associations, under the auspice of its Chosen Ideals, Sri Ramakrishna, Sri Sarada Devi, and Swami Vivekananda, offers its 29th issue of Nectar of Nondual Truth into the world-wide community of truth seekers everywhere. The purpose is twofold: first, that religion aligned with philosophy get disseminated and become available to humanity in this trouble-prone day and age; second, that through this divine dispensation, the principle of Universality — the truth of all religions — gets propagated as well. For, as we often say in SRV Loka, “There is no such thing as a foreign religion; all religions are indigenous to your soul.” To this fine end, then, we are to laud and applaud all Nectar contributors towards this singular principle, writers and spiritual leaders from both different walks of life, and from various traditions as well. They are fine examples of the potential of a people united in a world of beings and societies who only grant lip-service to such high-minded causes, but seldom follow through in action and in realization. As Swami Vivekananda has pleaded, “When will man finally be friend to man?”

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The current issue of Nectar of Nondual Truth starts our year off with profound thoughts of a religious and spiritual nature. There can be no better way to higher health than to purify the mind and intellect, daily, with words of a refined philosophical caliber. These are precious words indeed, coming as they do from a select group of serious individuals, all singularly dedicated to their chosen tradition and its dissemination. Herein, sandwiched between wise and heartfelt literary offerings by life-long dedicated writers and practitioners of the Vedanta, living and passed, lie complementary writings on some of the most respected spiritual traditions of the world, all in Nectar-like fashion. And, as usual with Nectar of Nondual Truth, the underlying theme which connects all of these beings and their mature perspectives together is that of Universality. Just as the Formless Reality called Brahman makes up the unseen but pervasive substratum for all that lies in the diverse realm of name and form, so does the eternal tenet of Universality support and weave together all religious traditions. When recognition of this great truth dawns on the human mind, it is immediately free, on so many levels.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The thousand-year-old Sanskrit classic the Bhagavatapurana, or "Stories of the Lord," is the foundational source of narratives concerning the beloved Hindu deity Krishna. For centuries pious individuals, families, and community groups have engaged specialist scholar-orators to give week-long oral performances based on this text. Seated on a dais in front of the audience, the orator intones selected Sanskrit verses from the text and narrates the story of Krishna in the local language. These sacred performances are thought to bring blessings and good fortune to those who sponsor, perform, or attend them. Devotees believe that the narratives of Krishna are like the nectar of immortality for those who can appreciate them. In recent years, these events have grown in number, scale, and popularity. Once confined to private homes or temple spaces, contemporary performances now fill vast public arenas such as sports stadiums, and attract live audiences in the tens of thousands while being simulcast around the world. In Seven Days of Nectar, McComas Taylor applies the tools of performance theory to uncover the factors that contribute to the explosive growth of this tradition. His innovative approach, which draws on close textual reading, philology, and ethnography, casts new light on the ways in which narratives are experienced as authentic and transformative and, more broadly, how texts shape societies.

Book excerpt: With the incomparable blessing of the principle of Universality as our underlying foundation and confirmed philosophical perspective, Nectar of Non-Dual Truth and its staff launches into its twenty-eighth issue, every one of them dedicated to the truth of Nonduality, or Advaita, as it appears in all of the religious traditions of the world. Like previous offerings, this issue of our one-of-a-kind religious magazine has a rich store of wisdom teachings contained within it. One only has to turn to any of its many pages to find a glowing testament to the Truth and its veracious expression through so many illumined vehicles. In this regard we humbly offer our gratitude to the enterprising writers, authors, teachers, and practitioners who generously contributed both time and wisdom towards this positive outcome. Though this work of religious and philosophical egalitarianism may not reflect it outwardly, it is quite a task to find even a small host of open-minded individuals to share essential parts of their respective traditions in a congenial manner in this day and age. That it has been accomplished, and will continue to be, is valid and substantial proof that the spirit of Universality is alive and well in the world. Both care and effort must be taken in the future to ensure that it will never die out.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As we take stock of all that this Winter issue of Nectar contains, it is the theme of suffering which stands out the most and begs for attention and inspection. Whether this suffering is of an emotional nature, a matter of physical ill-health, a case of mental unrest or of intellectual unsurety, it is a constant and nagging consideration on the minds of all beings in relativity. And it is just for this type of reason that teachings of the kind that appear in Nectar are so important and so necessary, for they are brought to bear upon the presence of suffering in healing fashion by the words of illumined souls such as Lord Buddha, Jesus Christ, Sri Sarada Devi, and others. It was this latter, the Holy Mother, who stated, “Misery, suffering, and pain — where will they go, my child? They are our companions in life.” Such admittances on the part of holy beings bring both relief and clarity to the situation, acting as a soothing lenitive to both body and mind. Moreover, the soul may also need amelioration at times, and teachings of a higher order are in store for that end. As one Christian mystic was reported to have said, “If you knew the purpose and benefit of your suffering, you would not ask that it be taken away,” leading us to conclude that suffering plays a role in both neutralizing the effects created by us on the field of action, and weaning us off of all of its causes so that we strive for higher existence.

Book excerpt: Nectar of Non-Dual Truth (and its dedicated staff) are both delighted and privileged to bring our revered readership a further offering of Nonduality and Universalism in the noble spirit of interreligious unity and harmony. This gift, a blessing from the Divine Mother of the Universe, presents ingenuous and inestimable installments of dharmic teachings from the sacred traditions of Buddhism, Jainism, Sufism, Taoism, and Vedanta, with additional articles, clips, and key quotes about other paths and ways of inner contemplation in accompaniment. Of the many and remarkable subjects, tenets, and axioms that grace the pages of this issue of Nectar, perhaps ahimsa, nonviolence, takes precedence, and vies for the lion’s share of our attentions and consideration. Another important philosophical facet, that of time, corresponds subsequentially, for humanity needs more of this graceful quality in order to work out its tendencies towards harmfulness and realize the utter and ultimate futility of all acts of aggression.

Book Nectar 30 The Desire for Freedom

Download or read book Nectar 30 The Desire for Freedom written by Babaji Bob Kindler and published by Sarada Ramakrishna Vivekananda Associations. This book was released on 2015-04-03 with total page 61 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Judaism, Jainism, Tibetan Buddhism, Zen Buddhism, Vedanta, and Advaita Vedanta, are all represented in full in this issue of Nectar of Nondual Truth, and if we had the available pages and writers we would certainly include all the rest of the world’s religious traditions herein as well. For, The Religion of the coming age, and of all ages — recognized as such or not — is Universality, and its underlying essence is Nonduality (advaita). Different liquids may be pleasing to the palate, but only water really slakes our thirst. Similarly, religion brings solace to embodied souls, but only nonduality slakes the inner thirst of the soul yearning to be free. Odors of cooked food wafting on the air bring children running for their meal, but only eating it truly satisfies their hunger. Like this, the inward fragrance of religion attracts the soul to perform worship and meditate, but only merging with Divine Reality fulfills all their aims and ends. The holy water and sacred food of the soul, then, is Universality based in Nonduality. Universality is beyond interreligious harmony and outstrips eclecticism. It breathes free, grows, and expands in the rare and exalted atmosphere of the open mind of the sincere and dedicated aspirant. Like the headiness of breathless heights one feels on pilgrimage in the Himalayan mountains, or the inspiration felt by taking pilgrimage to Jerusalem, or the power present when going on Hajj to Mecca, just so Universality verily transports the human mind to lofty experiences of Consciousness felt nowhere else — not even in the life heavens or the causal realms!

Book excerpt: A keenly vibrant and grateful world of conscious living beings who revere religion, philosophy, and spirituality, and who count themselves as lovers of Divine Reality on earth, has recently completed celebrating the 150th anniversary of the birth of that incomparable soul, Swami Vivekananda. And by the looks of it, it will take much more than another 150 years for the world to awaken to just who it was who came amongst them in that august form. Was it Buddha? Was it Lord Siva? Was it Jesus come again? Or was it an integrated combination of these great souls, including others, who graced this material loka – an atmic amalgam of earth-shaking proportions and ramifications? To answer more fully these intriguing questions, inquiry into the lives of a few of the Western women who met him in his recent incarnation as the Divine Lord coming into human form, attended by powerful incarnations of Shakti bent upon lifting up the very physical level of existence itself into transcendent spiritual dimensions, can be made. And that is also what Nectar of Nondual Truth aspires to in this issue, replete with articles by some of today’s followers of this exceptional personage, many of them women. The early herald of this Western contingent of fearless and faithful female followers was Sister Nivedita, whose own 150 year Sesquicentennial is upon us this year. By her given family title, Margaret Noble, she was well-named even in English, being of noble bearing and qualities, both.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It remains somewhat of a mystery, even after all the advantages of contemporary times have been lavishly bestowed upon present day humanity, that the ills of pervasive suffering still persist on the world scene. Of course, we know from the Buddha’s declaration of His Four Noble Truths, that suffering here on Earth will never go away entirely. Still, unnecessary suffering, a type of misery that has viable solutions, also remains constant — despite the fact that humanity has had plenty of time to apply these readily available stopgaps. When looking at this perplexing situation, the conscious observer cannot but notice, often painfully so, that narrowness of mind lies at the root of both the problem of suffering itself, and its tardy removal. In view of all this, when one considers ultimate solutions, there is nothing that compares with that of Universality. Universal religious outlook, universal philosophical perspective, universal compassion, universal service of mankind, a more universal mindset — even a more universally-based business and politics — all would be welcome alternatives to the ponderous and ineffective arsenal of methodical weapons that nations and peoples are presently utilizing to try to stem the tide of pervasive human suffering. True, religion nowadays has become an obvious caricature of itself, and philosophy has turned into a job and a career instead of a means for the revelation of truth. Even altruistic service, after the many attempts it has made towards drying up the ocean of human misery, has shown us its limitations and its downside.
