Book excerpt: I took a three-year break from work to explore the topic of peace, love, and success. I spent the time analyzing my thoughts and the effects my thoughts had on my emotional state of mind. The things I found out were quite intriguing. I came to the realization that many of us are not living to our full potential. We live with a measured joy. We keep our happiness in check. Our smiles are met with a restriction from our breath, which makes it short-lived. We seldom breathe fully because our breath is interrupted by the depth of our thoughts. We never really let go fully. We are bound by layers of chains that have entangled our thinkingchains from an uncertain future, chains of work, chains of relationships, chains of our finances, too many chains to mention. My time away from work gave me the opportunity to explore how to break the chains. I admit that even a broken chain is not permanently broken but can be easily reunited if old habits are not changed. My book focuses on the actions we can take to break chains and keep them broken. My book explores how our thoughts control our destiny. It teaches thought control and the importance of silence. It teaches how to overcome fear, anger, negative thoughts, stress, and hatred. You will learn how to nurture your emotions, embrace moments, and the importance of spiritual peace. I will teach you how to live in thankfulness, with compassion, while activating love.

Book excerpt: The Thoughts of an Unchained Mind is a documentation of the author's profound incite regarding Philosophy, History, Pan Africanism, Gender Relations, etc. Beginning with the topics of love and societal frailties, Mr. Graham examines and elucidates his own personal illustrations as to why people and society are in disarray. Arguments brought to the readers' attention in the opening two chapters are guaranteed to leave an indelible mark upon their lives. The book also offers several biographical and scientific sketches of the world in the past as well as present and evidence of future failures. In this inaugural publication, Mr. Graham relays to his audience the widely discussed topics in the social arena such as feminism, womanism, racism, classism, etc. He shows how historically people of African descent and other minority groups have been ravaged by social inequalities. Graham also analyzes the contemporary situation and the various groups that have claimed to be the leaders of the global struggle. Most importantly he supports his arguments with citations from various scholars from which he has studied. The conclusion that the reader may get from his book may differ amongst varying groups but one thing is for certain and that is Mr.Graham is only interested in speaking truth to power.

Book Mind Unchained Escaping the Overthinking Trap

Download or read book Mind Unchained Escaping the Overthinking Trap written by Gaurav Garg and published by Gaurav Garg. This book was released on 2024-08-02 with total page 175 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Welcome to " Mind Unchained: Escaping the Overthinking Trap." If you've picked up this book, chances are you're intimately familiar with the labyrinthine corridors of your own mind. Perhaps you've found yourself trapped in thought spirals that rival the complexity of a Rubik's Cube. Or maybe you've perfected the art of turning a molehill of worry into a mountain of anxiety. If so, congratulations! You're in good company. This book is for the overthinkers, the worriers, the what-if enthusiasts, and anyone who's ever lost sleep contemplating the potential ramifications of that slightly awkward thing they said at a party... three years ago. Full disclosure: I'm a card-carrying member of the Overthinkers Anonymous (we meet every Tuesday, unless we overthink it and reschedule). This book is as much a personal journey as it is a guide. Think of me as your slightly neurotic Sherpa on this expedition through the peaks and valleys of the overactive mind. Within these pages, you'll find a blend of science, humor, personal anecdotes, and practical strategies. We'll explore the neuroscience behind overthinking, delve into the art of mindfulness, and even dabble in the philosophy of present living. But don't worry, this isn't some dry academic tome. I promise there are jokes. Some of them are even funny (I think... I've been overthinking it). We'll journey together through topics like: Why your brain loves to play "What If?" on repeat (Spoiler: It thinks it's helping) How to make friends with uncertainty (It's not as scary as it sounds, promise) The art of mental decluttering (Marie Kondo for your mind, if you will) Strategies for taming the wild thought-beasts that roam your consciousness And much more! But here's the real kicker: this book isn't about eliminating overthinking entirely. Let's face it, that's about as likely as convincing a cat to bark. Instead, it's about developing a healthier relationship with your thoughts. It's about learning to dance with your mind rather than being dragged along by it. So, if you're ready to embark on this adventure of self-discovery, mental acrobatics, and occasional dad jokes, then fasten your seatbelt (or don't, I'm not here to tell you how to live your life... or am I overthinking this author-reader relationship?) Remember, the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. Or in our case, a single thought about taking that step, followed by several hours of contemplating the pros and cons of different walking shoes. Let's begin, shall we?

Book excerpt: The Unchained Life Manual is an illustrated holistic wellness guide, which examines sixteen alternative healing modalities to re-calibrate the body, mind, and spirit. The term "bio-hacking" means to alter our biology to achieve a greater level of performance. By incorporating techniques such as light therapy, sound therapy, aromatherapy, vitamin therapy, inversion, meditation, and others, IT IS POSSIBLE to re-balance the body and to live in a state of ease, versus dis-ease. With 78% of Americans overweight and an estimated 80 million people suffering from insomnia and depression, it is becoming more apparent that the majority of people go through their lives living in a state of fatigue, exhaustion, despair, stress, and "dis-ease." The Unchained Life Manual challenges generally accepted dogma concerning health, wellness, and recommended dietary allowances for vitamins and minerals, by presenting anecdotal, empirical, and clinical references that point towards a desperately needed collective paradigm shift. With multiple sources stating that medical mistakes are the third leading cause of death in America, maybe it is time for all of us to truly learn about our physiology and reclaim ownership over our personal health and wellness, so we can avoid unnecessary hospital visits?Disclaimer: The Unchained Life Manual is not medical advice. The information contained within is not designed to diagnose, treat, prevent, or cure any disease.

Download or read book The Living Mind written by Richard Dien Winfield and published by Rowman & Littlefield Publishers. This book was released on 2011-07-07 with total page 319 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As enthusiasm for computational models of the mind has waned and the revolution in neuroscience has progressed, attention in philosophy and cognitive science has shifted toward more biological approaches. The Living Mind establishes that mind cannot be immaterial or reduced to mechanistic or cybernetic processes, but must instead possess a subjectivity embodied in an animal organism. On this basis, the work proceeds to show why mind involves a pre-conscious psyche, a non-discursive consciousness and self-consciousness, and an intelligence overcoming the opposition of consciousness. In so doing, The Living Mind provides a detailed account of the psyche and consciousness, paving the way for conceiving the psychological enabling conditions of rational theory and practice.
