Book Revivals Visitations And Moves Of God

Download or read book Revivals Visitations And Moves Of God written by and published by All Peoples Church & World Outreach, Bangalore, India. This book was released on 2021-07-01 with total page 132 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Revival is bringing something that is dead back to life. Much of today’s Church needs reviving. When God comes in an unusual way, releasing His presence and power over and above what a church normally experiences, we call it a visitation of God. Every visitation of God should become a habitation of God and become a move of God, going beyond that local church into the community, city, and nation. The move of God results in evangelization, missions, and the fulfilling of the Great Commission. Starting in the book of Acts and down through the centuries, there have been numerous visitations and moves of God. We look at Church history. Understanding history helps us correctly interpret the present and prepare for the future. We draw inspiration, insight, and lessons from what God has done in the past, by reviewing stories, and asking relevant questions: What can we learn from Church history about revivals, visitations, and moves of God? What does it take for a visitation of God to become a move of God? What are signs of a genuine visitation of God? How do we steward a revival, a visitation, and a move of God? The “latter rain” falls just before harvest. “Therefore, be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter rain. You also be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand” (James 5:7-8). In biblical context, the early rains were showers that usually came during October-November and prepared the ground for the seed. The latter rain fell during March-April and was necessary for the ripening of the crops before harvest. If we believe God is preparing for a mighty endtime outpouring, a great visitation, and ingathering of harvest before His return, then we must get ourselves and our congregations ready for the latter rain of the Holy Spirit. Book What s Right with the Church

Download or read book What s Right with the Church written by Elmer L. Towns and published by Gospel Light Publications. This book was released on 2009-09-15 with total page 228 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The early believers of Jesus Christ knew that they were not just members of an organization, nor were they just an extension of Old Testament Judaism. They knew that they were followers of the living Lord Jesus Christ. They were members of a thing called the church. Through the centuries, the church has been the most powerful transforming force in history. Yet in America many observe it as anemic and powerless. Author Elmer Towns contends that there is good news; there are many things that are still right with the church. What Is Right With the Church affirms the positive things that are present in the church today, and what will carry it forward as a transforming force. This book is not a defense of the traditional church, nor does it run to embrace all new forms of worship. Rather this book examines the biblical nature of church allowing the best to come forth. It is not a book about old churches, new churches or home churches. It is a book about what is right about every true church, no matter the expression, history or culture. A growing number of people are not aware of the enduring strengths of the church. The author contends that if believers in Christ are to effectively move forward with healthy communities and a vibrant faith in this new century, they must be established on foundational, biblical truths and core values. And when this happens, the church thrives as a transforming force.

Book Revivals Awakening and Reform

Download or read book Revivals Awakening and Reform written by William G. McLoughlin and published by University of Chicago Press. This book was released on 2013-03-06 with total page 256 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In Revivals, Awakenings, and Reform, McLoughlin draws on psychohistory, sociology, and anthropology to examine the relationship between America's five great religious awakenings and their influence on five great movements for social reform in the United States. He finds that awakenings (and the revivals that are part of them) are periods of revitalization born in times of cultural stress and eventuating in drastic social reform. Awakenings are thus the means by which a people or nation creates and sustains its identity in a changing world. "This book is sensitive, thought-provoking and stimulating. It is 'must' reading for those interested in awakenings, and even though some may not revise their views as a result of McLoughlin's suggestive outline, none can remain unmoved by the insights he has provided on the subject."—Christian Century "This is one of the best books I have read all year. Professor McLoughlin has again given us a profound analysis of our culture in the midst of revivalistic trends."—Review and Expositor

Book The Charismatic Century

Download or read book The Charismatic Century written by Jack W. Hayford and published by FaithWords. This book was released on 2009-06-27 with total page 192 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The most profound event in modern church history took place not in a cathedral but in a clapboard church in Los Angeles. A small congregation of mostly African American worshipers embraced the concept that New Testament signs and wonders were still available in the early twentieth century. Their dramatic spiritual revival, which became known as the Azusa Street Revival, attracted believers worldwide and launched the modern Pentecostal and Charismatic movements. This event forever changed Christian worship, music, and expression. In commemoration of Azusa Street's 100th anniversary, Jack Hayford tells the story, revealing how Christians are still experiencing its impact.

Download or read book If My People written by Eric D. Hilton and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2020-07-17 with total page 133 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this day and age of hyperactivity it is easy for us to mistake action for anointing and volume for presence. However, a chicken with its head cut off has action, but it is not very healthy, you could say, “...thou hast a name that thou livest and art dead.” (Revelation 3:1) Revival is our answer to all that ails the church, but, have we been so long without revival that we no longer desire it? “If My People” is a book designed to open our hearts and minds to what the Psalmist meant when he said, “Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee? (Psalm 85:6) Our only hope is revival but, what is it? What does it look like? Why do we need it? and What can I do? This little book answers these questions and much more. This little book puts us on the right path for a full out bona fide revival.
