Book Synthesis and Characterization of Dicoumarol Based Cu Complexes

Download or read book Synthesis and Characterization of Dicoumarol Based Cu Complexes written by Hitesh R. Dholariya and published by LAP Lambert Academic Publishing. This book was released on 2014-11-28 with total page 68 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Our prime objective is to prepare a series of copper complex compounds which possess enhance biological activity by introducing 4-hydroxycoumarins and fluoroquinolones segments together. In the present article, we have synthesized twelve novel ligands and their Cu (II) complexes. We have focused much on antimicrobial activity, antioxidant and antitubarcular activity. Results from antimicrobial activity revealed that Cu (II) complexes were found biologically active as compared to its ligands. Few of the complexes have been found more potent antimicrobial agent against gram positive bacteria. Results obtained from the in vitro anti-tubercular activity of all Cu (II) complexes indicated that, few compounds have been found more potent than that of standard drugs Ethambutol and Streptomycin. One compound has been emerged as the promising anti-tubercular member due to better activity as compared to Streptomycin. In vitro antioxidant activity of all the complexes exposed moderate to good ferric reducing power. One of the compounds showed good anti oxidant power.

Book Copper I Chemistry of Phosphines Functionalized Phosphines and Phosphorus Heterocycles

Download or read book Copper I Chemistry of Phosphines Functionalized Phosphines and Phosphorus Heterocycles written by Maravanji S. Balakrishna and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2019-04-25 with total page 442 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Copper(I) Complexes of Phosphines, Functionalized Phosphines and Phosphorus Heterocycles is a comprehensive guide to one of the most widely used and extensively studied metals: copper. The numerous practical applications of copper compounds are discussed, including homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysis and their use as fungicides, pesticides, pigments for paints, resins and glasses, and in high-temperature superconductors. The remarkable structural flexibility of simple copper(I) complexes, such as cuprous halides is covered, including numerous structural motifs that, when combined with different ligand systems, exhibit linear, trigonal planar or tetrahedral geometries. This work is an essential reference for inorganic and coordination chemists, as well as researchers working on catalysis, anticancer reagents, luminescence, fluorescence and photophysical aspects. Discusses the properties of copper and similarities to noble metals, such as their corrosion resistance, high thermal and electrical conductivity and rich coordination chemistry Includes the copper(I) coordination chemistry of tertiary phosphines, bisphosphines and phosphines containing other donor atoms and their potential application in catalysis, biosystems and photochemical areas Features a discussion of the rich photochemistry exhibited by some mixed-ligand copper(I) complexes (phosphines with heteroaromatic ligands) which can exhibit coprophilic interactions, photoluminescence and thermochromic properties
