Would you go back and prevent past mistakes and wars? Or would you seek a ringside seat at key historical events? And what would your time machine look like? The eponymous time machine in H.G. Wells' novel had dials and a seat and physically disappeared when it traveled in time. In Jeff Layton's novel The Subjective Time Traveler, however, all that's required is a human mind modified to traverse the fourth dimension. In this work that I'd consider speculative fiction, Layton introduces himself as the channeling writer for the protagonist, Chrono. He embarks on his time travels after manifesting a master, a shaman named Kyodi, in a lucid dream. Chrono's first-time trip is to the ceremony where Kyodi's consciousness leaves his body. He feels the frozen tundra underfoot as he walks to a hut: the scene is rich in sensual details, exemplifying the vivid descriptions that are one of the most enjoyable aspects of this book. Another was the range of history and culture that it covered. It includes a long list of dates at one point, but the channeling writer reassures readers they need not be put off by this, and he pauses on events that left a noticeable mark on the space-time continuum. Some of these were connected with key religious figures. This book's spiritual content was inspiring, and its insights into the subjectivity of reality can support mental wellness and healing. In explaining the scientific basis for time travel using Einstein's theories, the channeling writer packed an amazing volume of ideas into a concise work. Don't we know that time travel will never be invented because if it had been, we'd have met time travelers already? In outlining the rules of subjective time travel, Layton shows why this is not necessarily the case. I'd encourage you to read this book to find out more. The system was partly based on the laws of karma; I was slightly missing a full explanation of those. Rather, the author seemed to assume a thorough knowledge of the Buddhist understanding of karma that some readers may not have. In that connection, including a slightly more detailed explanation of that point could improve this book. Otherwise, its detailed descriptions and awe-inspiring insights into science, philosophy, and ontology were impressive. This book merits a very good rating because it was vivid, mind-expanding, clear, and easy to follow. Overall, this is a highly recommended work of speculative fiction. If you've ever wondered about the mechanics of time travel or how paradox can be prevented, this will help provide answers. No machine with dials is required - this is a subjective trip for the mind.”

This study provides us with the idea that grotesquery is employed as a template to translate meanings and interpretations of medical thrillers. Through multiple responses as elicited by the grotesque, these thrillers engage with readers differently and hence produce varied responses. The second section of this issue is Philosophy. The first paper of this section has been authored by Ghasemali Kouchnani and Nadia Maftouni explores the Semiotics of Love in Suhrawardi’s Allegorical Philosophy. The paper concludes that the theme of Suhrawardi’s stories is mystical love and the wayfarer loves God. This love is to be spiritual emotion rather than passionate love simply because, on his way, the seeker must overcome his own inner and outer senses. These perceptions are symbolized by ten towers, ten graves, ten flyers, ten wardens, five chambers and five gates. These are the allegories of perceptions, i.e., the five internal and the five external senses could be seen in “Treatise on Towers”, “A Tale of Occidental Exile”, “The Simurgh’s Shrill Cry”, “The Red Intellect”, and “On the Reality of Love”. The second paper of this section has been authored by Alexandros Schismenos. The paper represents an opinion that, as a chimera, time-travel is non-feasible and impossible. To support his claim the author briefly outlines the origins of the time-travel concept and its epistemological and metaphysical/ontological conditions. If these conditions prove to be absurd, the logical impossibility of time-travel will have been demonstrated. The third section of this issue is Political science. The fourth paper of this section has been authored by Prof. Inderjeet Singh Sodhi. This paper deals with the current status of water management in India and its emerging issues and challenges. The fifth paper of this section has been authored by Dr Prakash Chand Kandpal. This paper focuses on the development of sustainable cities, highlighting the actions and initiatives undertaken by the Government of Delhi to combat the menace of pollution in Delhi. The sixth paper of this section authored by Isha presents the concept of Public-Private Partnership and also evaluates its progress in school education in India. The paper concludes that the introduction of the PPP model in school education in India could help in the achievement of desired results as the payments are made by the government against the services delivered through the private sector. But there is a risk sharing between both government and private sector which is helpful for the delivery of public services in an efficient manner. However, PPP in the education sector has a long way to go as the schools approved under PPP model in some states of India like Assam, Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Odisha, Tripura and West Bengal are still not functioning. The seventh paper of this section has been authored by Sisay Assemrie Temesgen. Many philosophers think that it is rationally permissible to prefer a life that is overall worse to one that is overall better, as long as the badness of that life lies in the past rather than the future. These philosophers think that it is rationally permissible to be time biased. Time biased individuals differently value the wellbeing of their various selves in virtue of where those selves are located in time. This book focuses on three key kinds of time bias: near, present, and future bias. It presents a rich picture of the conditions under which we display these biases, and it outlines several psychological explanations for them. It then uses this new empirical research we conducted to inform arguments regarding the normative status of these biases. At its heart it considers the question: does having time biased preferences of one sort or another make us better off or worse off? When Lewis died, he left behind a large body of unpublished notes, manuscripts, and letters. This volume contains two longer manuscripts which Lewis had originally intended to turn into books, and thirty-one shorter items. The longer manuscripts are 'The Paradoxes of Time Travel', his David Gavin Young Lectures at the University of Adelaide, and 'Confirmation Theory', which is based on a graduate course on probability and logic that he gave at UCLA. Lewis's described his purposes in 'The Paradoxes of Time Travel' as being, `(1) to solve a philosophical problem hitherto largely ignored or casually mis-solved by philosophers [...]; (2) to introduce the layman to various topics in metaphysics, since our problem turns out to connect with many more familiar ones; and (3) to show of several of my favorite doctrines and methods in metaphysics'. By contrast, 'Confirmation Theory' is a technical work in which Lewis aimed to present in a unified fashion what he considered to be the best from competing theories of confirmation. Lewis described the work as 'Mathematically self-contained, with proofs for the major theorems; but the mathematics is kept down to hairy high-school algebra'. The thirty-one shorter items cover such topics as causation, freedom of the will, probability, counterparts, reference, logic, value, and divine evil. They are included here both for their intrinsic philosophical interest and their historical value. This volume also contains an intellectual biography of the young David Lewis by the editors.
