Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Struggling Into My Blessings: Storm Before The Calm," Volume 1, is comprised of a non-fiction, mystery and suspense drama. The story is real and infused with adversities, animosities, hatred, lies, theft, drugs and much more. As a young girl, I went through many trials, tribulations, and troubles; my life was like a scary roller coaster ride. I was a victim of abuse, I was raped and didn't understand how and why I was chosen, to have my life violated. I told my mother about what happened, but she didn't believe me; that hurt me very much. She spoke rudely, as she accused me of speaking falsely, against the adult she interacted with. How could a mother be so content, and not show concern towards the well-being of her child? Why did she wait, until she was on her death bed, to apologize to me? Because I was treated offensively, I became defiant and turned to the wrong crowd. My rebellious attitude caused me to fall beneath my Godly character, and become discourteous and unruly. I broke rules, made unwise choices, and challenged authority; my spirit was non-submissive. I felt demolished, so my mind was deeply weighed down with anger, hurt, and pain; I felt ungrateful. The faith I had, was knocked down, I had no positive desire. I started experiencing severe downfalls, when I got blind-sided, after engaging with the mind of a corrupted soul; I fell in love. I ended up in an uncomfortable situation, and never paid attention to the red flags until detrimental chaos occurred. I experienced heartache, pain, betrayal, abuse, and my dreams were shattered; my life felt worthless. I didn't know if I was going to live after I was beaten by a gang of females, that showed hatred towards me; I received lacerations in my face. Once I defeated those devils, soon afterward, I had to run for my life, because shots were being fired. I thought I was done with the madness, but then another evil spirit tried to run over me with a car; in which I broke my leg while trying to duck and hide. I dedicate my story of real facts, to every individual that has suffered from the setbacks of disobedience; it will enlighten you. My near-death experience taught me how to live by the principles of God's word; I almost lost my sanity. Making unwise choices, and trying to prove a point, to hurt others, will lead to a life of destruction or death. This book is powerful, eye-opening, and shocking!

The type fought in the heart. It began long before I was formed. Udonwa’s family is at war – a war of relationships, played out under the tyranny of a monster dad. Age twelve, Udonwa has a peculiar love of her father, Reverend Leonard Ilechukwu, who favours her but beats his wife and his other children. Later, pieces of a sinister picture emerge that shake her life to the core. No longer the person she thought she was, Udonwa launches into a period of extreme change, and parts of her life spiral into chaos as she finds herself torn between her love for her father and an underlying need to free herself. Book excerpt: “Deeply atmospheric, breathlessly suspenseful, with a ticking clock like no other—a terrific thriller.”—Lee Child Haunted by dark secrets and an unsolved mystery, a young doctor returns to his isolated Adirondacks hometown in a tense, gripping novel in the vein of Michael Koryta and Harlan Coben. Burying the past only gives it strength—and fury. Nate McHale has assembled the kind of life most people would envy. After a tumultuous youth marked by his inexplicable survival of a devastating tragedy, Nate left his Adirondack hometown of Greystone Lake and never looked back. Fourteen years later, he’s become a respected New York City surgeon, devoted husband, and loving father. Then a body is discovered deep in the forests that surround Greystone Lake. This disturbing news finally draws Nate home. While navigating a tense landscape of secrets and suspicion, resentments and guilt, Nate reconnects with estranged friends and old enemies, and encounters strangers who seem to know impossible things about him. Haunting every moment is the Lake’s sinister history and the memory of wild, beautiful Lucy Bennett, with whom Nate is forever linked by shattering loss and youthful passion. As a massive hurricane bears down on the Northeast, the air becomes electric, the clouds grow dark, and escalating acts of violence echo events from Nate’s own past. Without a doubt, a reckoning is coming—one that will lay bare the lies that lifelong friends have told themselves and unleash a vengeance that may consume them all. Praise for The Storm King “Brendan Duffy’s second book mingles horror, historical fiction, supernatural suspense and old-fashioned murder mystery, the rare phantasmagoria whose pieces click into a satisfying resolution. . . . This is a gutsy, intricate, evocative piece of mischief, much closer than anyone usually gets to that particular spell cast by Stephen King.”—USA Today “Duffy follows his debut, House of Echoes, with a stunning literary thriller, which combines accomplished wordsmithing with startling twists.”—Publishers Weekly (starred review) “An elaborately layered, creepily atmospheric story that blends haunting legends and the psychological terror of a murderer on the hunt. A winning thriller sure to draw readers of Jennifer McMahon, Ruth Ware, and Michael Koryta.”—Booklist (starred review)
