Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Spear Temple’s Key: Vol. II The Spear Temple’s Key: Vol. II is a book of parables and figures of speech, similar to Vol. I. It is a book that explains the life of the saint, and the genesis of heaven. The world today makes gold miniatures of all its favorite things, yet the life from God is being separate. It gives them their proper value. These things will keep you from genesis –the beginning and end of all things. Jesus came from somewhere, otherwise why did he say his Father was greater? Heaven too, has to start someplace. God is brilliant, his stories have no end, but this is the beginning; and it only gets better. God offers redemption at any stage, best to start while the day is young. So take up the second key, passage requires your watch and cell phone. You have no need of knowing time. A cherub has returned to guard the entrance. He is hidden in the air, he wields the biggest flaming sword, and demons hate his cut because it will not heal; at least until they sear it by a sun. The Spear Temple’s Key: Vol. III The Spear Temple’s Key: Vol. III is a book of stories and figures of speech, similar to the Bible. They come in parable, and they come in strings, let them ease your soul. This is a book of grace, glory, and growth. God has been preparing these things since he was the only one like Him. The riddle can be solved by children, yet a man will have an educated guess. The deep things of God will take time to understand. The heavens are a mystery, yet the key will guide you. The heroes are here. They speak in the Spirit, God’s crew is full of life. I’ve had many crosses in my life, the temptation had to grow; and the end had to come.
Download or read book The Secret of the Temple written by John Michael Greer and published by Llewellyn Worldwide. This book was released on 2016-12-08 with total page 252 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Over thousands of years, the priests and sages of the ancient world discovered that the design and location of certain structures had beneficial effects on the crops that sustained life. A body of traditional lore evolved, using architecture and ceremonies that made use of these wholly natural but mysterious effects. In The Secret of the Temple, John Michael Greer painstakingly rebuilds a body of lost knowledge that has been used to accumulate and direct energy throughout history, and can be used again today. The Temple of Solomon was only one of many ancient structures that drew on the temple tradition. The insights of this tradition have been passed down through those in society tasked with protecting ancient wisdom, secret societies like the Knights Templar and the Freemasons. But over time, as cultures and technologies changed, the meaning of these cryptic symbols and rituals became obscured...until now. This book explores the esoteric body of knowledge that shaped the world of our forebears, gave rise to the world's most awe-inspiring temples and cathedrals, and continues to fuel speculation about powerful forces at work in our world.

Download or read book Hebrew Psalms and the Utrecht Psalter written by Pamela Berger and published by Penn State Press. This book was released on 2021-05-14 with total page 241 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In a major departure from previous scholarship, this volume argues that the illustrations in the famous and widely influential Utrecht Psalter manuscript were inspired by a late antique Hebrew version of Psalms, rather than a Latin, Christian version of the text. Produced during the early ninth century in a workshop near Reims, France, the Utrecht Psalter is illustrated with pen-and-ink drawings in a lively style reminiscent of Hellenistic art. The motifs are largely literal renditions of words and phrases found in the book of Psalms. However, more than three dozen motifs cannot be explained by either the Latin text that accompanies the imagery or the commentaries of the church fathers. Through a close reading of the Hebrew Psalms, Pamela Berger demonstrates that these motifs can be explained only by the Hebrew text, the Jewish commentary, or Jewish art. Drawing comparisons between the “Hellenistic” style of the Psalter images and the style of late antique Galilean mosaics and using evidence from recent archaeological discoveries, Berger argues that the model for those Psalter illustrations dependent on the Hebrew text was produced in the Galilee. Pioneering and highly persuasive, this book resolves outstanding issues surrounding the origins of one of the most extensively studied illuminated manuscripts. It will be mandatory reading for many historians of medieval art and literature and for those interested in the Hebrew text of the book of Psalms.

Download or read book Mediating and Remediating Death written by Dorthe Refslund Christensen and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2016-04-29 with total page 299 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: From the ritual object which functions as a substitute for the dead - thus acting as a medium for communicating with the ’other world’ - to the representation of death, violence and suffering in media, or the use of online social networks as spaces of commemoration, media of various kinds are central to the communication and performance of death-related socio-cultural practices of individuals, groups and societies. This second volume of the Studies in Death, Materiality and Time series explores the ways in which such practices are subject to ’re-mediation’; that is to say, processes by which well-known practices are re-presented in new ways through various media formats. Presenting rich, interdisciplinary new empirical case studies and fieldwork from the US and Europe, Asia, The Middle East, Australasia and Africa, Mediating and Remediating Death shows how different media forms contribute to the shaping and transformation of various forms of death and commemoration, whether in terms of their range and distribution, their relation to users or their roles in creating and maintaining communities. With its broad and multi-faceted focus on how uses of media can redraw the traditional boundaries of death-related practices and create new cultural realities, this book will appeal to scholars across the social sciences and humanities with interests in ritual and commemoration practices, the sociology and anthropology of death and dying, and cultural and media studies.

Book excerpt: Templeton Richard Drake, or "T. R." as he is called by his friends, is a young veteran of the Nibian War who returns to America and tries to come to grips with his disenchantment and emotional emptiness, and the feeling that control of his life is "out of his hands." He finds solace in hard drinking, painting, and casual sex. He learns that the wealthy inventor of the "blaster-trapper," the mechanical arm that transformed the flip ball industry, has taken his life under suspicious circumstances, and taken with him to the grave the knowledge of the resting place of the Holy Grail. T. R. joins the search for the holy vessel, and his dreams and visions reveal to him his destiny; to lead a modern crusade of knights against the dark forces of the Islamic terrorist, Assama ben Licken, and retake the Holy Land for Christendom. His search for the Holy Grail, the Ark of the Covenant, and the Spear of Destiny takes him from Mississippi to the Mediterranean, the Highlands of Scotland, the plains of Ethiopia, and the dense jungles of Mexico where an ancient temple holds the key to the fate of mankind. T. R. Drake's search for these sacred relics from the past takes him on a spiritual as well as a geographical journey, and ultimately reveals to him the power of love.
