The ninth-century church of Santa Prassede has been studied intensively in recent years, yet no scholar has yet recognized the significance of the balanced male and female imagery: both men and women disciples, Peter and Paul as family friends, Praxedes and her sister as house church leaders in the post-apostolic period assisted by bishop Pius I, and Pope Paschal's mother Theodora episcopa, for example. Praxedes' identification as ''presbytera'' by a Roman priest-historian in 1655 and by the Benedictine prior of the church in 1725 prompts analysis of women's ordination rites in churches of East and West. Santa Prassede preserves one of the largest intact programs of church decoration in Rome up to 1200. Schaefer investigates its scriptural and liturgical sources, and, in turn, reexamines its foundation myth. The Father did not send His Son to replace an old, outdated religion with a new and better religion. God sent His Son to raise the dead to life, to restore a broken relationship between God and man, and to remake mankind into His image. With His Spirit, united with our spirit, in these mortal bodies, humanity is to exhibit His divine attributes through acts of love, wisdom, holiness, justice, goodness, and truth, transforming the entire world in the process. That is the whole point of Christianity. In Covenant of Dominion: The Salvation of the World in Christ, G. Michael Rowe explains the proper context that brings the New Testament into focus and can dispel the many doctrinal issues that are dividing the church. The proper context is preterism. Ladies, this is the level of respect, honor, and grace which has been, is, and will always be given to women by God. God recognizes women with precedence and therefore, no other being has any right or authority to usurp that which He has bestowed upon women. It is time that all of mankind recognize women based on this precedence, granting them equal respect, honor, and dignity in all matters. For it is written that woman is graced with the power of the Angels (1 Corinthians 11:10, emphasis mine), "For this cause ought the woman to have a power on her head because of the angels", which is the authority over woman not mankind (KJV Study Bible, 2002).
