Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from The Sequel of the Resurrection of Jesus: Considered: In Answer to the Sequel to the Trial of the Witnesses As the Resurrection of Jesus Considered is an irrefutable Answer to the Trial of the Witnesses of the Resurrection; so the Sequel of the Trial of the Witnesses, being the very same as the Resurrection clear'd, only a new Title-Page: The Resurrection Re-Considered is the very same Answer to it that it was before, and as unanswerable as ever; and will continue to be so till the General Resurrection. However, to corrobrate this Answer, I here produce so much, as perhaps may safely appear, from The Resurrection Demonstrated to Have No Proof: Written by the only Advocate that dared to come forth on my Side, and dared too much; therefore was obliged to drop into Obscurity. Who that Gentleman of Wit and Learning was, I never could find out. The Work had two Faults, which I must suppress. It contained Expressions, 1st, too bold; 2dly, too much in my Favour. Necessity and Modesty will therefore plead for me, in giving my Readers only that Part of it which follows. In its determination to preserve the century of revolution, Gale initiated a revolution of its own: digitization of epic proportions to preserve these invaluable works in the largest archive of its kind. Book Why Christians Will Suffer Great Tribulation

Download or read book Why Christians Will Suffer Great Tribulation written by Joe Ortiz and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2007-02-07 with total page 262 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This sequel to The End Times Passover [Why Christians Will Suffer Great Tribulation] biblically proves why Gods true disciples will experience great tribulation, and will have to remain on earth awaiting the return of Jesus Christ. Most evangelical Christians believe in The Rapture, they just dont know if its going to be a Pre-Tribulation Rapture, or a Mid or Post Tribulation Rapture. Regardless, many evangelicals believe the Rapture is right around the corner. They believe that Armageddon is knocking at the door. The crisis and battles for territorial rights in the Middle East, the outbreak of Holy Wars and terrorism throughout the world, have most evangelicals convinced the end is near! But, they arent worried because their hopes lie in The Rapture; a unique event where they believe Jesus Christ will return to earth and snatch them secretly up to heaven while all hell breaks loose on earth! But, what would happen if there wasnt going to be a Rapture? What would happen if all of those stories they have been hearing and reading about not being Left Behind were nothing but sheer lies? Would that concern them? Are they prepared to experience great tribulation? This sequel to The End Times Passover (Why Christians Will Suffer Great Tribulation) biblically proves why Gods true disciples will experience horrible persecution while awaiting the final return of Jesus Christ. However, many of these brave disciples will be found preaching the gospel as never before, regardless of the price! Millions of themmay even be slaughtered, but they will die for Christ the way He died for them! This may not sound like Good News; but its absolutely true! Check out the reasons why!

Download or read book Jesus of Nazareth written by Pope Benedict XVI and published by Image. This book was released on 2007-05-15 with total page 402 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “This book is . . . my personal search ‘for the face of the Lord.’” –Benedict XVI In this bold, momentous work, the Pope––in his first book written as Benedict XVI––seeks to salvage the person of Jesus from recent “popular” depictions and to restore Jesus’ true identity as discovered in the Gospels. Through his brilliance as a theologian and his personal conviction as a believer, the Pope shares a rich, compelling, flesh-and-blood portrait of Jesus and incites us to encounter, face-to-face, the central figure of the Christian faith. From Jesus of Nazareth: “. . . the great question that will be with us throughout this entire book: But what has Jesus really brought, then, if he has not brought world peace, universal prosperity, and a better world? What has he brought? The answer is very simple: God. He has brought God! He has brought the God who once gradually unveiled his countenance first to Abraham, then to Moses and the prophets, and then in the wisdom literature–the God who showed his face only in Israel, even though he was also honored among the pagans in various shadowy guises. It is this God, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob, the true God, whom he has brought to the peoples of the earth. He has brought God, and now we know his face, now we can call upon him. Now we know the path that we human beings have to take in this world. Jesus has brought God and with God the truth about where we are going and where we come from: faith, hope, and love.”

Book Space Time and Resurrection

Download or read book Space Time and Resurrection written by Thomas F. Torrance and published by Bloomsbury Publishing. This book was released on 2018-12-13 with total page 256 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this sequel to Space, Time and Incarnation, Thomas F. Torrance sets out the biblical approach to the Resurrection in terms of the intrinsic significance of the resurrected one, Jesus; and demonstrates that the Resurrection is entirely consistent with who Jesus was and what he did. The Resurrection is thus taken realistically, and treated as of the same nature, in the integration of physical and spiritual existence, as the death of Christ. All this is elucidated in the context of modern scientific thought, in such a way as to show that far from being frightened by modern science into a compromise of the New Testament's message of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ in body, it actually allows us to take its full measure. This classic volume from one of the premier English speaking theologian of the 20th century remains an important contribution to the field of systematic theology. For this Cornerstones edition, the preface is written by Paul D. Molnar.

Book A Thematic Access Oriented Bibliography of Jesus s Resurrection

Download or read book A Thematic Access Oriented Bibliography of Jesus s Resurrection written by Michael J. Alter and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2019-12-31 with total page 602 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The keystone of Christianity is Jesus's physical, bodily resurrection. Present-day scholars can be significantly challenged as they forage through voluminous documents on the resurrection of Jesus. The literature measures well over seven thousand sources in English-language books alone. This makes finding specific sources that are most relevant for specific scholarly purposes an arduous task. Even when a specific book is relevant, finding the parts of the book that are most relevant to the resurrection rather than other topics often requires additional effort. A Thematic Access-Oriented Bibliography of Jesus's Resurrection addresses these challenges in several ways. First, the bibliography organizes more than seven thousand English sources into twelve main categories and then thirty-four subcategories, which are designed to help you find the most relevant literature quickly and efficiently. Embedded are pro and con arguments which support efficient access through brief annotations and then annotate the diversity and complexity of the field of religion by including sources that represent a diverse range of views: theistic (e.g., Christian, Jewish, Muslim, etc.), agnostic, and nontheistic. The objective of this bibliography is to provide convenient access to relevant sources from a variety of perspectives, allowing you to browse or find the one source accurately and with ease.
