Download or read book The Roman Catholic Church and Its Recognition of the Validity of Baptism in the Name of Jesus Acts 2 38 from 100 A D to 500 A D written by Kulwant Singh Boora and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2011-08-08 with total page 113 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The patristic period saw the shift towards baptism in the trinitarian form, being a later liturgical development, the original form being in the name of Jesus Christ (Acts 2:38). It is granted that documentary evidence has been preserved quite remarkably from the patristic period to at least the fifth century that shows and demonstrates the recognition of baptism in the name of Jesus by the Roman Catholic Church. To such an extent that even the Roman Catholic Church has noted the validity of baptism in the name of Jesus in a recent call for ecumenical dialogue. Roman Catholic scholars and theologians alike are in agreement with the baptismal formula of the name of Jesus and make no pretense about it, to the degree that even during the Ante-Nicene period we find a trial of individual(s) who baptized in the name of Jesus flowing from period of the early Greek apologist(s). The patristic era to the fifth century will present a large body of literature that convincingly shows baptism in the name of Jesus being validly recognized even within literature housed within the collection of writings of St. Cyprian Bishop of Carthage who was said to oppose such a practice. The Roman Catholic Church at large, voiced through its religious leaders, Church Fathers, Pope and theologians within this period have noted the original form of baptism being in the name of Jesus thereby continuing to acknowledge its validity and recognition.

Book The Three 3 Roman Catholic Popes on the Validity of Baptism in the Name of Jesus Acts 2 38 and the Two Catholic Popes 2 on the Oneness Christological View of God

Download or read book The Three 3 Roman Catholic Popes on the Validity of Baptism in the Name of Jesus Acts 2 38 and the Two Catholic Popes 2 on the Oneness Christological View of God written by Boora Singh and published by . This book was released on 2021-04-06 with total page 83 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Until recently, it was commonly held that 2 Catholic Popes acknowledged that baptism in the name of Jesus (Acts 2:38) was valid, despite the Catholic church's own practice of baptizing in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost (Matthew 28:19) which is a post-New Testament practice, since no one was ever baptized in the entire Bible in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost in the New Testament church. Interestingly, through years of research it has come to light that another Pope apart from Pope Stephen and Pope Nicholas held baptism in the name of Jesus (Acts 2:38) as a valid practice. As you read this publication you will be enlightened to note who it was and what period of time it occurred, thus demonstrating that baptism in the name of Jesus has continually been evidenced through the centuries since the Day of Pentecost.Book by Boora, Kulwant Singh

This book was released on 2011-01-31 with total page 125 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: British Christianity is embedded with a deep sense history that once discovered, will start to reveal an apostolic linage traceable to the Book of Acts. With the rise of British Christianity in various parts of ancient Britain, it played a fundamental, yet pivotal role in maintaining and shaping the baptismal practice of single immersion in the name of Christ alone. At least from the time of Tertullian of Carthage as testified by the Church Historian, Eusebius of Caesarea to the acclaimed British born and first Christian Roman Emperor, Constantine who oversaw and officiated the Council of Nicea in 325 A.D, the entrance of Christianity into Britain was seen to resist Roman and Papal authority and jurisdiction, thereby minimizing any Roman influence and dominance, resulting in the excommunication of the British Church. The British Church with is religious practices became a thorn in the side of the Roman Church, but continued to exercise its religious freedoms in accordance with the apostolic message. Therefore, contained within this work is reference to an array of literature, publications and prominent figures who noted baptism in the name of Jesus only or Christ alone from within Britain since the ancient period till the present. Great Britain has been home to baptism in the name of Jesus only for centuries and hundreds of years, coupled with theological belief of the British and European people of sabellianism derivative from the New Testament with an Old Testament foundation.

Book British Views on the Oneness of God with Observations on the Doctrine of the Trinity

This book was released on 2012-03-16 with total page 68 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Attested to by some of the worlds leading scholars, historians and theologians, Britain received Christianity as early as the second or third century that was brought over into Britain not longer after the events of the Day of Pentecost, which is noted in the New Testament. Such Christianity and theology, of course, had its roots in Jewish monotheism, which later in the New Testament centered on a very high christology that assigned unique divine qualities to Jesus that were inherently reserved for the God of Israel as expounded in the God in Christ or Jesus is God New Testament narratives. The British then are counted in the body of believers of adhering to a theology of the oneness view of God from the ancient days of Christianity. This is coupled with the notation of ascribing to baptism in the name of Jesus only in the earlier centuries of Great Britain as explained by British theologians and scholars, one in particular, an Oxford University scholar has attested to such an early practice by the British. More pointedly, commissioned British studies have also concluded that the doctrine of the trinity is a dead letter in the British churches and one that is the subject of neglect, to the extent that trinitarian Christians are hard pressed to given an account, let alone a defense, of the doctrine of the trinity. While the author’s work is not final on the subject of British apostolic oneness pentecostal theology yet it paves the way for a review of the studies that will lead to a wholesome perception that the apostolic oneness view of theology, whether it is in a form of sabellianism or modalism has been present within Britain for centuries. The God in Christ or Jesus is God christology is certainly something that British theologians have believed wholeheartedly as one notable British scholar has pointed out, which has generated continued interest in this field of study in contrast to the troubling commissioned studies on the subject of the doctrine of the trinity, which is a post-New Testament product emerging from secular philosophical and platonic concepts catapulted into the Bible. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The twenty-first century saw one of the greatest explosions of baptism in the name of Jesus only on one of the largest scales globally with the noted events of Azusa Street, since the New Testament period and thereafter. Yet we must not forget its continued practice and invocation from the Day of Pentecost and throughout history. Understanding this concept will secure the ground to defend its continued practice and global recognition. Over the centuries we find credible sources and evidence showing and demonstrating that baptism in the name of Jesus has long survived. We see its practice in Europe or the European Union States (EU) as it is modernly termed and its noted observations in Russia as explained in various studies and literature. To its practice in India in which it is said that India has been home to the apostle Thomas who arrived to India to evangelize it with the apostolic doctrine. In adding to India's evangelization are the comments of the Cambridge University scholar, who explains in the noted work of the renowned church historian Eusebius of how the Gospel of Matthew in Hebrew had arrived to India in the latter part of the second century. Similarly an important study has also noted baptism in the name of Jesus only in Africa, namely Egypt, as explained by American scholars to various periods in African ecclesiastical history illustrating its continual observation. Most importantly, we share in the great awakening testimony by the highly renowned leading Mexican Apostolic Church Historian, a much decorated scholar in the world of biblical and theological scholarship. This scholar's work informs the reader of the long standing history of baptism in the name of Jesus only in Mexico and Latin America. We are also informed about literature discussing baptism in the name of Jesus in Canada. This clearly reveals that baptism in the name of Jesus only has a long standing undisputable history. Understandably this stems from the events and message in Acts of the Apostles chapter two, which continues to this present day long before the introduction of the practice of Matthew 28:19.

TO 1600 A.D. Kulwant Singh Boora (c) Book 11 About the Book The view that apostolic doctrine, namely, baptism in the name of Jesus (Acts 2:38) or the oneness of God during the medieval or middle ages or what some term the dark ages, was given over to a lost period with minimal presence must be reevaluated, reexamined and reassessed. This is in light of revealed scholarship, literary studies and evidence that is readily available and accessible from published work around the world. As one gleans through the pages of such scholarship, history and studies, it will become readily apparent that in such periods what can be seen is a position that advocates the recognition or advances the apostolic doctrine or practice towards the reformation era and beyond. This is clearly seen through the spectacles of the world of historical, biblical and theological scholarship. Whether it was given over to a lost period with minimal presence, is now subject to reexamination and review. And after such a review, a new position emerges that now sees that the apostolic doctrine to have continued through such periods to the reformation and beyond, which is heading towards the twenty-first century that will result in a global phenomeno

Book Apostolic Acts 2

Download or read book Apostolic Acts 2 written by Kulwant Singh Boora and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2010-06 with total page 120 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The topic of Christian baptism has been the subject of debate for centuries and one that in all probability will continue. There are individuals that hold that Matthew 28:19 are the words of Jesus and therefore require baptism in that particular form, thereby adhering to a literal reading of the text. Yet, when this is contrasted with the practice outlined in Acts of the Apostles, a different view emerges in light of Acts 2:38 and number of other passages in the Book of Acts. The difficulty lies in how Matthew 28:19 is to be treated and interpreted. This then raises some fundamental and important questions, such as, is the problem that Matthew 28:19 is wrongly seen and viewed as a reference to a baptismal formula? Or is it that it is incorrectly understood as a Trinitarian formula? While accepting Matthew 28:19 as a genuine and authentic passage, is it really instructing individuals to literally or physically baptize people in water or is it explaining or expanding rights that an individual either acquires or is able to access or is it a reference to a community as a whole that acquires such a right or some other theological phenomenon. Perhaps, it is not a reference to baptize people at all in water, since the right was already given to baptize people in water in John 4:1 under Jesus' authority, approval, and command. Therefore, this book and polemical study will address a variety of matters that relate to Matthew 28:19 and Acts 2:38. In addition to this, there will be numerous references to baptisms in the name of Jesus from the Day of Pentecost to the present era. True baptism must be premised upon the notion that it was taught by Christ (Matthew 28:19) and administered by the Apostles (Acts 2:38).

Book Baptism in the Name of Jesus Acts

Download or read book Baptism in the Name of Jesus Acts written by Kulwant Singh Boora and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2012-08 with total page 66 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The evangelization of the United States of America had started by early British and European settlers and immigrants with the apostolic doctrine of baptism in the name of Jesus (Acts 2:38) and the preaching of the apostolic oneness of God as found in the New Testament narratives. To the indifferent treatment of Jews in early American history to the laws enacted in the state of Maryland that made it an offense to deny the trinity that could result in punishment or even death resulted as one study points out in the indictment of a Jew for blasphemy to similar laws in another state, which also held it to be a criminal offence to deny the trinity. This would have been seen as an obstacle to overcome, yet despite such obstacles, early British and European settlers and immigrants in America are seen to advocate an apostolic doctrinal position that resulted in revivals and public debates in states such as Ohio and Kentucky. American scholars, independent studies and distinguished American historians have also indicated early preaching on baptism in the name of Jesus in states such as Pennsylvania, New York, Massachusetts; New Hampshire and even to states, such as, Nevada which would seem surprising to some. Documentation suggests that baptism in the name of Jesus had been noted as early as the 1600s in America. Similarly, American literature has also provided important clues and guidance on early oneness preaching and teaching in America to out right denials of the doctrine of the trinity in early America, which would conclude that denials of the doctrine of the trinity gave impetus to oneness preaching. Yet British subjects in America had been noted of adhering to or holding to an oneness view of God that also included some point of reference to a state Governor, such views could be paralleled to what we call in modern day language as apostolic oneness Pentecostalism with its roots in the New Testament. Importantly, one can rest assured that with respect to the apostolic doctrinal view of baptism in the name of Jesus (Acts 2:38) to the preaching or teaching on the oneness of God, we are provided documentation that consists of both American and non-American literature that certainly finds support of early apostolic doctrinal preaching and teaching in the earlier centuries of American history and religious development.

What if everything we have been told about the origins of Christianity is a lie? What if a small group had always known the truth and had kept it hidden . . . until now? What if there is evidence that Jesus Christ survived the crucifixion? In Holy Blood, Holy Grail Michael Baigent and his co-authors Henry Lincoln and Richard Leigh stunned the world with a controversial theory that Jesus Christ and Mary Magdalene married and founded a holy bloodline.
