Book Impacts of Network Training on Church Revitalization

Download or read book Impacts of Network Training on Church Revitalization written by Timothy Alan Houston and published by . This book was released on 2021 with total page 101 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Does the impact of executive team training in church networks enhance problem-solving at the local church level and develop theologically informed theoretical practices? The action research project addressed the question that if the staff at Harvest Network received instruction in biblical principles of church revitalization, the expected result might be that the network team may become better equipped to serve the churches of the network. Four primary themes emerged from the literature research: barriers to church revitalization; detrimental pastoral leadership; church revitalization culture; and organizational team training. The designed intervention included interviews, focus groups, participant observations, reports, surveys, instruction, and exit interviews for the staff at Harvest Network and network churches identified as needing revitalization. The action research found that organizational team training did better equip the Harvest Network team to serve the network's churches better. As the American church landscape indicates a widespread need for revitalization, the thesis project will impact others in ministry network leadership.

Book excerpt: The heart of revitalization is a matter of the heart. If you are going to participate in and/or lead a process that results in revitalization, you will need to address the matters of the heart. Your heart needs to be ready, receptive, and open to learning and leading the process of revitalization. If I may borrow from the analogy of the farmer sowing seed, it is my desire to sow a few seeds from what I have learned, experienced, and have tried as a journeyman of church renewal, restoration, and revitalization. I share what I do with a prayerful hope that something you read will be helpful in your unique setting and quest to address the need for revival, renewal, restoration, or revitalization. I am blessed to be both a student and practitioner of church revitalization. Leading the church in the revitalization of its spiritual health and ministry effectiveness was a passion God placed in my heart over thirty years ago. And like a Chinese bamboo tree, this desire has been developing below the surface for years and years, and now, I am asking God for His glory to guide me in expressing my heart and providing His church body, His pastors, and ministry leaders a helpful resource for addressing revitalization.

Book God s Pattern for Revitalization

Download or read book God s Pattern for Revitalization written by Robert Beckett and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2023-03-30 with total page 99 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The most common question that most pastors and church leaders ask themselves is "Where do I start in revitalizing my church?" Revitalizing a church can seem like a daunting task, but there are some key steps that pastors and church leaders can take to begin the process of transforming their church into an active and vibrant center of the Christian community. The first step that pastors should take is to prayerfully assess the current state of the church. This will involve reflecting on the church's current successes and challenges to better understand where changes need to be made. That understanding can come only from God himself. God has provided us with an example of how revitalization and revival can take place in a church. This book will enlighten and inform on the way that God intends for his church to be vibrant and alive again in the community of believers and surrounding neighbors. Using Scripture as the pattern and guide, readers will gain confidence and courage to move their church forward in revitalization.

Download or read book Church as Network written by Jeffrey H. Mahan and published by Rowman & Littlefield. This book was released on 2021-12-15 with total page 175 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Just as the emergence of print and literacy created conditions for vast religious change at the time of the Reformation, the emergence of a digital culture shaped by computers and the internet has led to radically different assumptions about religious identity, how people connect and maintain transformative relationships, and how people follow and give authority to leaders. The central issues concerning this digital culture are not technological but theological and anthropological. Old models of stable religious identity and community seem irrelevant in a culture in which everyone is in motion. The book identifies three profound changes produced by digital culture which challenge existing understandings of church: 1) a shift to seeing Christian identity as an ongoing constructive project, 2) the development of fluid networked forms of community, and 3) the emergence of less hierarchical more conversational forms of leadership.

In conversation with Christians who have left the church and with those who are experimenting with fresh expressions of church, Stuart Murray explores both the emerging and inherited church scenes and makes proposals for the development of a way of being church suitable for a postdenominational, postcommitment and post-Christendom era. With chapters on mission, community and worship, Church After Christendom offers a vision of church life that is healthy, sustainable, liberating, peaceful and missional.
