Book excerpt: Considered by many to be the classic book on faith. Dr. Price's written an spoken ministry had a profound influence on the direction of my on life. My sister, Florence, had a collision with a truck carrying hot asphalt. She received third degree burns, and her pelvis sufferes seven fractures. She was compelled to lie in a bed of salve because her burns were so severe that she could not stnd the touch of bedding or clothing. X-rays showed that the sharp points of bones were headed into vital organs. Because of her burns, she could not be operated on. In desperation, I contacted Dr. Price. and he agreed to come. As he prayed for her, God laid His mighty hand upon her and healed her, to the amazement of doctors and nurses. New X-rays were taken--every bone had gone back into place! Book excerpt: An anonymous caller tells a detective in a small Oregon town that a woman has just bitten off a man's finger. But the man is not the victim, the caller says. The woman is. She's being held against her will by a group of faith-healing fanatics who are trying to cure her depression with violent exorcisms. The detective rescues her, but she is afraid to press charges against the people in her church. Then the detective gets an even more ominous message: Children in the church have been dying mysteriously for years, and now several more are in immediate peril, facing blindness, disability, and death. Unwilling to stand by and allow more children to suffer, the anonymous caller -- a church insider -- risks everything to work with three detectives and a lone prosecutor to fight faith-based child abuse, and to change the laws that protect its perpetrators. They are joined by a mother who'd suffered a faith-healing tragedy herself, and afterwards dedicated her life to saving others from the same fate. Masterfully written by author Cameron Stauth, In the Name of God tells the true story of their heroic mission, which resulted in a historic series of sensational trials that exposed the darkest secret of American fundamentalism, and revealed the shameful political deals that have allowed thousands of children to die at the hands of their own parents -- legally. Though the battle against faith-healing abuse continues around the country, the victory in Oregon has lit the path to a better future, in which no child need die because of a parent's beliefs.

Book The Real Faith with Annotations and Guided Readings by Bill Johnson

Download or read book The Real Faith with Annotations and Guided Readings by Bill Johnson written by Bill Johnson and published by Destiny Image Publishers. This book was released on 2023-11-07 with total page 148 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Bill Johnson guides you through the book that transformed his healing ministry. The Gospels are full of stories of supernatural healing—sight restored to the blind, the lame made to walk, and the dead raised to life. We wonder why these types of miracles aren't more prevalent in our own lives. Is it our lack of faith? Do we just need to try harder, believe more? But these questions imply that these miracles are born out of our own efforts. This isn’t how faith works. As Bill Johnsons says in the introduction to this special edition, "Faith is not about striving; it is about surrender." In this unique book, Bill Johnson guides you through the work that has most influenced his own healing ministry—The Real Faith—written by Dr. Charles Price in 1940. Containing an introduction, guided notes and questions by Pastor Bill to enrich your own reading, this timeless classic by one of the great “generals” of the faith offers proven wisdom for your own journey in healing ministry. In The Real Faith, Charles Price and Bill Johnson will invite you to think differently about faith—and therefore healing miracles. Faith is: A gift from God, given to us A product of our total surrender to Him An invitation to know God deeply Born out of intimacy with God An ongoing discovery with God Supernatural healing, for Charles Price and Bill Johnson, is a byproduct of deep, abiding intimacy with God. As you read Dr. Price's ageless words and Pastor Bill’s remarkable insights, you’ll begin to understand that the miracles we long for are not about our own efforts, they’re a product of real faith. That is, faith given to us by Him.

Book excerpt: You're already in a war. It's time to fight. This book will equip you with tools to protect the five fronts of spiritual battle: your relationship with God, your identity, your family and friends, your church, and the world. Win Your War is a practical marriage, parenting, and relationship book that is grounded in the Word of God and focused on recognizing Satan's role in your life. Mark and Grace Driscoll help you understand the power Jesus gives you to overcome the enemy's attacks. Mark and Grace Driscoll look at the nature of spiritual warfare in response to Adam and Eve. God has a kingdom where His people are governed by the Spirit. Satan has the world, where his people are governed by the flesh. Spiritual warfare is the battle between these two realities in everything, including our identity, temptation, gender, marriage, and emotional well-being. Some years ago Mark Driscoll preached on the Book of Genesis and discovered an unexpected theme about spiritual warfare that works itself out in all of human history: the storyline of the Bible is that there is first a wedding and then a war. Satan did not show up until a man and woman were married and had a ministry call on their lives. The first thing he did was attack marriage and separate men and women. After reading this book, you will uncover the five fronts of spiritual battle: your relationship with God, your identity, your family and friends, your church, and the world. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The mighty power of God-given faith! Dr. Charles S Price was a preacher of the gospel of Jesus Christ and a man that moved in signs and miracles. A doubter at first of the Pentecostal movement, Dr. Price ended being one of its mighty leaders after experiencing the power of the Holy Spirit first-hand. His meetings drew thousands of people and many of them were dramatically healed. He knew that the faith we needed could not come from man, but only from God. It is the faith of Jesus that moves mountains and heals the sick, and even a portion of that faith the size of a mustard seed is enough. The Real Faith goes into great detail about the wonder and power of authentic God-given faith and how we may obtain it. Unlike many other teachers on healing, Dr. Price discusses many real-life situations of when people did not get healed when he first prayed for them, but then also how those same people later experienced the healing touch of Jesus Christ. May you be blessed as you read this book!

Chicagoland pastor Robby Dawkins sees this again and again in his ministry to hurting people and even to gang members. Everyday people are seeing God's power unleashed through simple faith in God's Word; they are healing the sick, routing demons, and making a dynamic impact for the Kingdom of God. But many other believers are missing out, unaware that they have far more power and authority than they realize. Dawkins shares dynamic, real-life instruction and amazing stories from the front lines of ministry, showing that believers carry the authority of the Son of God and the power of the Holy Spirit wherever they are. When we walk in the presence and authority of God, we will do what Jesus did.
