Book The Quintessence of Pristine Pure Vedanta

Download or read book The Quintessence of Pristine Pure Vedanta written by D B Gangolly and published by Srikanth s. This book was released on with total page 48 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is the sixth of a series of small books under the head "Satchidaananda Vaak-Jyoti' or "The Enlightening Words of Satchidaananda". All these booklets contain a free transliteration of the enlightening and immortal words and teachings of Shri Satchidaanandendra Saraswati Swamiji, of revered memory, found in his numerous Kannada books. Those readers who do not have the facility and advantage of reading and understanding books in the Kannada language will be immensely benefited by these English publications written in simple language and style. This small plan of publishing these 'gems of spiritual literature', unrivalled in their esoteric import and teachings of the highest order and based on the pristine pure original Bhashyas of Adi Shankara, was first mooted by Shri D. B. Gangolli, a devotee and admirer of Swamiji. It is an irony of our times that even that great Acharya's immaculate teachings of Atma Vidya or Self-Knowledge, purely based on the strength of the Upanishadic statements, their veracity based on Intuitive dialectics or ratiocination (called Anubhavaanga Tarka) and finally on the strength of the culmination or consummation of all those teachings in one's own Intuitive. experience here and now, have been distorted beyond recognition and redemption.

Book excerpt: How can we tell if our judgment is sound? Will the abandoned choices, the lost options, the lives we never led, haunt us like spectral reproaches? Are we living in a perfect world? Why not? What went so badly wrong? What makes us choose disastrously en masse? Whatever happened to the so-called Wisdom of Crowds? If they're so smart, why is the world so dumb? Is it true, as the Illuminati assert, that the West lost an entire millennium because of Christianity? Was it this strange religion that sabotaged our progress to our own Eden? What might the world have looked like if instead of the rule of the Catholic Church, paganism had prevailed? This is the story of an alternative history of the West, one where Christianity never happened. The tale of this bright world that never was begins with the pre-Socratic philosophers of ancient Greece, some of the greatest, boldest and most imaginative thinkers of all time. This is the tale of the infinitely mysterious Quintessence.

  • Publisher : Wipf and Stock Publishers

Download or read book The Word As Truth written by Alan Fairweather and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2009-06-01 with total page 163 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This essay offers a critical appreciation and comparison of the theological and philosophical position of Karl Barth and St. Thomas Aquinas. Mr. Fairweather's thesis is the essential mediacy of God's self-presentation to men. He maintains, as against Aquinas, that human finitude does not preclude acquaintance with the divine nature; and as against Barth, that man through grace is truly capax verbi Domini. In his comparison the scales are weighted heavily against Barth. He maintains that Barth's presuppositions (e.g., the radical discontinuity of the human and the divine), arise from a Manichaean rather than from a Christian source; and that, carried to the extremes to which Barth is prepared at times to carry them, they rob the Bible of all value for revelation; the Incarnation and the Cross of all value for human life; and the idea of revelation itself of any kinship with the idea of Truth. At the same time, while pointing out the extravagances, dangers and interior contradictions of the Barthian position, Mr. Fairweather recognizes the corrective value of his absolutist theology, and concludes that the Thomist position as regards revelation, though it is the more soundly based of the two, needs to be supplemented by the Barthian emphasis on the real presence of God in His Word.
