Download or read book All Religions Are One There Is No Natural Religion written by William Blake and published by DigiCat. This book was released on 2022-05-25 with total page 45 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: All Religions are One is the title of a series of philosophical aphorisms by William Blake, written in 1788. Following on from his initial experiments with relief etching in the non-textual The Approach of Doom (1787), All Religions are One and There is No Natural Religion represent Blake's first successful attempt to combine image and text via relief etching, and are thus the earliest of his illuminated manuscripts. As such, they serve as a significant milestone in Blake's career. William Blake (1757 – 1827) was a British poet, painter, visionary mystic, and engraver, who illustrated and printed his own books. Blake proclaimed the supremacy of the imagination over the rationalism and materialism of the 18th-century. Largely unrecognised during his lifetime, Blake is now considered a seminal figure in the history of both the poetry and visual arts of the Romantic Age.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: 2022 Reprint of the 1926 Edition. Two volumes found in One. Exact facsimile of the original edition and not reproduced with Optical Recognition Software. With a general introduction, glossary and index of symbols, commentary, and appendices by D.J. Sloss and J.P.R. Wallis. Poet, painter, engraver, and visionary William Blake worked to bring about a change both in the social order and in the minds of men. Though in his lifetime his work was largely neglected or dismissed, he is now considered one of the leading lights of English poetry, and his work has only grown in popularity. In addition to being considered one of the most visionary of English poets and one of the great progenitors of English Romanticism, his visual artwork is highly regarded around the world. The prophetic books of the 18th-century English poet and artist William Blake are a series of lengthy, interrelated poetic works drawing upon Blake's own personal mythology. In these works, concluding with the epic Jerusalem, he elaborated a personal invented mythology (mythopoeia). The mythopoeia is largely Biblical in inspiration and its significance has been debated extensively for both its political and religious content. Contents: 1. HE never can be a Friend to the Human Race who is the Preacher of Natural Morality or Natural Religion, he is a flatterer who means to betray, to perpetuate Tyrant Pride & the Laws of that Babylon which he foresees shall shortly be destroyed, with the Spiritual and not the Natural Sword: He 5 is in the State named Rahab: which State must be put off before he can be the Friend of Man. You, O Deists, profess yourselves the Enemies of Christianity: and you are so: you are also the Enemies of the Human Race & of Universal Nature. Man is born a Spectre or Satan, & is altogether an Evil, 1o & requires a New Selfhood continually, & must continually be changed into his direct Contrary. But your Greek Philosophy (which is a remnant of Druidism) teaches that Man is Righteous in his Vegetated Spectre: an Opinion of fatal & accursed consequence to Man, as the Ancients saw plainly by Revelation, to the intire abrogation of Experimental Theory, 15 and many believed what they saw, and Prophecied of Jesus. Man must & will have Some Religion: if he has not the Religion of Jesus, he will have the Religion of Satan, & will erect the Synagogue of Satan, calling the Prince of this World, God: and destroying all who do not worship Satan under the Name of God. Will any one say, Where are those 20 who worship Satan under the Name of God? Where are they? Listen!
