Book Tubular String Characterization in High Temperature High Pressure Oil and Gas Wells

Download or read book Tubular String Characterization in High Temperature High Pressure Oil and Gas Wells written by Jiuping Xu and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2018-10-30 with total page 408 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: High temperature, high oil pressure, oil and gas well completion testing have always been a technical challenge and basic theoretical research is one of the key factors needed to ensure a successful completion test. The completion test basic theory includes: a stress analysis of the completion string, completion string buckling behavior, and temperature and pressure distribution prediction. The completion string is the main bearing and power transmission component for oil and gas well operations and production, and it is required to take on a combination of loads, which result in completion string deformation. Because of these complex relationships, completion string stress analysis has become increasingly more complicated. This book discusses the characters of tubular strings in HTHP (High Temperature - High Pressure) oil and gas wells. These characters include the mechanical behavior of tubular strings and the temperature and pressure variation of tubular strings in different conditions. Mathematical models are established for different conditions and solution existence and uniqueness of some models is discussed, providing algorithms corresponding to the different models. Numerical experiments are presented to verify the validity of models and the feasibility of algorithms, and the impact of the parameters of models for oil and gas wells is also discussed. This book is written for production and testing engineers to provide them with the tools to deal more effectively with the numerical decisions they have to take and for researchers and technicians in petroleum and gas testing and production engineering. Finally, it is also intended to serve as a reference book for mathematicians, college teachers and students.

Book Experimental Investigation of Deep Sea Oil Spills in a High Pressure Laboratory Environment

Download or read book Experimental Investigation of Deep Sea Oil Spills in a High Pressure Laboratory Environment written by Karen Malone and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2023-01-29 with total page 144 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the aftermath of the “Deepwater Horizon” oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, the need arose for experimental data on oil and gas hydrodynamics and particle formation under deep-sea conditions. This work presents a new High-Pressure Test Center that allows for experimental oil spill research under artificial deep-sea conditions. It also contains experimental data on drop formation processes and oil drop size distributions generated within this test center and a modeling approach based on the turbulent energy dissipation that has been developed to predict the droplet sizes of an oil-and-gas jet under high pressure.

Book Equations of State and PVT Analysis

Download or read book Equations of State and PVT Analysis written by Tarek Ahmed and published by Gulf Professional Publishing. This book was released on 2016-03-02 with total page 626 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Understanding the properties of a reservoir’s fluids and creating a successful model based on lab data and calculation are required for every reservoir engineer in oil and gas today, and with reservoirs becoming more complex, engineers and managers are back to reinforcing the fundamentals. PVT (pressure-volume-temperature) reports are one way to achieve better parameters, and Equations of State and PVT Analysis, 2nd Edition, helps engineers to fine tune their reservoir problem-solving skills and achieve better modeling and maximum asset development. Designed for training sessions for new and existing engineers, Equations of State and PVT Analysis, 2nd Edition, will prepare reservoir engineers for complex hydrocarbon and natural gas systems with more sophisticated EOS models, correlations and examples from the hottest locations around the world such as the Gulf of Mexico, North Sea and China, and Q&A at the end of each chapter. Resources are maximized with this must-have reference. Improve with new material on practical applications, lab analysis, and real-world sampling from wells to gain better understanding of PVT properties for crude and natural gas Sharpen your reservoir models with added content on how to tune EOS parameters accurately Solve more unconventional problems with field examples on phase behavior characteristics of shale and heavy oil

Book Hydrodynamics of Oil and Gas

Download or read book Hydrodynamics of Oil and Gas written by Ian Lerche and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 1994 with total page 326 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This monograph presents a wide range of examples showing the different patterns of behavior in permeable aquifers and highlights the interactions between the various elements involved. The author provides a comprehensive investigation of the effects of geometry, permeability, and fluid flow dynamical properties on the ability of an aquifer to retain oil and gas accumulations. With its highly accessible format, each chapter allows for a quick survey of specific factors in the development of hydrocarbon behavior using illustrations. Chapters also feature case histories and examples.
