Download or read book The Philosophical Concepts of Management Through the Ages written by Andreas Sofroniou and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2009-12-21 with total page 158 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: 17. The Philosophical Concepts of Management Through The Ages.ISBN: 0952725363 Year: 2005 The process of managing a team involves the interaction of people where individuals contribute to the running or completion of a task. As in any State or country, under any government, people live together under various laws, rules, regulations and religions. The people elect or they follow a leader, be it a democratic or tyrannical leadership. People under such regimes follow a type of management. In a business environment such methods of management prevail. A Manager will delegate and lead one or more individuals within the organization by running the business or a system. Management styles can, therefore, be considered as political systems where people participate in the smooth running of a country or a company, whether this is a global organization or a fruit stall in the back streets of any city.
Download or read book The Philosophical Foundations of Management Thought written by Jean-Etienne Joullié and published by Rowman & Littlefield. This book was released on 2020-10-06 with total page 369 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book's premise is that the theories taught in management schools are based on unacknowledged philosophical perspectives that are significant not so much for what they explain, but for what they assume. Rarely made explicit, these perspectives cannot be reconciled, with the result that the study of management has been dominated by contradictions and internecine intellectual warfare. However, the ability critically to analyze these diverse perspectives is essential to practicing and aspiring managers if they are to evaluate expert opinion. Moreover, since management is primarily an exercise in communication, managing is impossible in the darkness of an imprecise language, in the absence of moral references, or in the senseless outline of a world without intellectual foundations. Managing is a prime example of applied philosophy.
Download or read book Philosophy for Human Behaviour written by Andreas Sofroniou and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2012-10-15 with total page 101 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In reading through this book, the reader will find that through the centuries, philosophy as a subject contributed more than any other subject in the shaping of our lives, how we exist, behave and how we control our destiny. The content of this book will still be of importance to the reader and without any compromising, a training tool for the philosopher, psychologist. sociologist and behaviourist. There is no doubt that this subject is deep and vast. Backed by recent social events and political debating, philosophy in its plentiful branches can only be helpful in preparing people to obtain an acceptable style of living and a harmonious mode of interacting with society. Although this concept centres around the universal reason behind social events, the basic idea of reason behind human events works through the ideas held by an individual, until they are challenged by ideas which replace them and are challenged usually by conflict. So conflict (war), reasoned Hegel, is an instrument of progress.

This book was released on 2013-10-15 with total page 102 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: EXPERT SYSTEMS, KNOWLEDGE ENGINEERING FOR HUMAN REPLICATION. An expert system is a computer program that attempts to replicate the expertise and decision-making abilities of a human expert. Expert systems are the most widely developed area of artificial intelligence, with a variety of applications ranging from medical diagnosis through to financial decision-making and geological prospecting. They often use a heuristic or self-learning approach to the solution of a problem, in which feedback of the results of a particular course of action influences subsequent decisions. Expert systems usually have two principal parts: a knowledge base (a special database, which contains facts and other information representing the rules and experience of an expert practitioner in a particular field); and an inference engine, which interprets the knowledge base in relation to the particular problem being presented.

Download or read book History of Management Thought written by Vadim I. Marshev and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2021-01-13 with total page 718 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book describes the millennia-long process of the genesis, formation, struggle, and change of views on the management of social organizations in various countries around the world; in other words, it characterizes the worldwide evolution of the History of Management Thought (HMT) - ideas, concepts, theories, paradigms, and scientific schools - from Antiquity to the present. The book is the outcome of extensive research, based on the analysis, generalization, and systematization of foreign and domestic published literature, as well as on the gathering and analysis of unique archival materials. For the first time in the historical and managerial literature, the book puts forward original definitions of three historical and managerial sciences - the History of Management, the History of Management Thought, and the Historiography of Historical and Managerial Research. It addresses the main challenges in pursuing Historical and Scientific Research (HSR), the main “subject” levels of HSR and specific methodological problems concerning HMT, as well as epistemological methods for identifying key factors in and causes of the advent and evolution of HMT. This book presents both the origins of management thought dating back to the 5th millennium BC and the latest management concepts of the early 21st century. In particular, it traces the origins and sources of management thought, reflected in the works of thinkers and statesmen of the Ancient World (Egypt, Western Asia, China, India, Greece, and Rome), the era of feudalism, and the Middle Ages (Byzantium, Western Europe, and England), the era of inception capitalism (Western Europe and the USA), as well as the new and recent history of management thought of the 20th and 21st centuries. In addition, for the first time in History of Management literature, it presents the history of Russian management thought from the 9th century to modern concepts and scientific schools.
Download or read book Theology Relationship of Religions Philosophy written by Andreas Sofroniou and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2018-08-09 with total page 133 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: THEOLOGY RELATIONSHIP OF RELIGIONS AND PHILOSOPHY Theological functions and interests imply that theology can master the disciplines with which it is confronted. Theology is based on authority (revelation) as documented in scriptures of various religions, philosophical, philological, historical studies and hermeneutical (critical interpretive) questions. Theological tasks broaden into a concern with the history and traditions of religions. With such approaches difficult and controversial questions arise; whether and to what extent the scriptural standards of the sources of revelation are modified by traditions. These problems play an important part in the relationship of people, cultures and their political philosophies. Thus, the question of truth posed by theology requires the constitution of a discipline that specifically concerns itself with fundamental questions, as is in systematic theology.
Download or read book Little Hut by the Sea written by Andreas Sofroniou and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2011-08-31 with total page 188 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: CELEBRATING SIXTY YEARS OF COMPOSING POETRY It was sixty years ago when I wrote my first four lines of a poem in English. This was called The Fireplace. I was thirteen years of age and a second year student of The English School in my hometown Morphou, Cyprus. The composition of poetry is an art where words construct sentences, verses using metaphors and symbols, which in turn are based on imagination, facts, and life experiences. A poem does not have to rhyme and yet it can be a stanza, a canto to a loved one, an ode to a hero, a sarcastic remark to emphasise the importance of a point made, an elegy composed to explain feelings arranged as a work of art. What prose can explain in three hundred pages, a poem (as a masterpiece) can express in one single page; with more meaning, using larger-than-life pictures describing timeless classic scenes, memorable events and bringing immortality to life itself.
Download or read book Harmony is Love Friendship Sex written by Andreas Sofroniou and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2016-11-11 with total page 152 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Living harmoniously means; an accord, in conformity with articulation, compatibility, integration, togetherness, and in unity with friends who also live in harmony. Through the centuries, the subject of harmony, or happiness, was debated as part of ethics; the philosophical study of the nature and grounds of moral thought and action. Ethical theories in this pure sense are sharply distinguished from moral systems, which are directed towards drawing up particular sets of rules by which to live, and from practical or applied ethics, the analysis of arguments advanced for particular moral conclusions. The most fundamental question in ethics is usually taken to be the justification of morality that is whether or not it can be demonstrated that moral action is rational. With all the enlightenment based on the results of modern scientific research and the new model of literature; fiction and poetry, the need for a harmonious living and happiness still remains unchanged - ever since the ancient times.
