It contains a valuable collection of manuscripts, some of them beautifully illuminated; many early printed and rare English Bibles; a good collection of books on general literature; and several very curious tracts, arranged and bound up in volumes. The windows contain the arms, &c. of the benefactors, which are fully described by Wood, in his History of Oxford. The Hall is on the west side of the quadrangle. Its interior is in the modern style. In it are portraits of Henry, second Earl of Bathurst, Lord High Chancellor of Great Britain; Dr. Parsons, Bishop of Peterborough, the late Master; Dr. Jenkyns, the present Master, by Briggs; Dr. Barrington, Bishop of Durham, the late Visitor; Dr. Prosser, Archdeacon of Durham, formerly Fellow; Dr. Dolben, Archbishop of York, a Visitor; Dr. Douglas, Bishop of Salisbury; Dr. Matthew Baillie, of London, formerly a member; and Wicklyf, the Reformer, Master of this College from 1361 to...
