  • Pages : 264 pages

Download or read book The Mystery of God written by Steven D. Boyer and published by Baker Books. This book was released on 2012-11-01 with total page 264 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: How can I know God if he is incomprehensible? Is it possible to know God in a way that takes seriously the fact that he is beyond knowledge? Steven Boyer and Christopher Hall argue that the "mystery of God" has a rightful place in theological discourse. They contend that considering divine incomprehensibility invites reverence and humility in our thinking and living as Christians and clarifies a variety of theological topics. The authors begin by investigating the biblical, historical, and practical foundations for understanding the mystery of God. They then spell out its implications for theological issues and practices such as the incarnation, salvation, and prayer, rooting knowledge of God in a concrete life of faith. Evangelical yet ecumenical, this book will appeal to theology students, pastors, church leaders, and all who want intellectual and practical guidance for knowing the unknowable God.

Book A Tale of Brittany Mon fr re Yves

Download or read book A Tale of Brittany Mon fr re Yves written by Pierre Loti and published by DigiCat. This book was released on 2022-07-21 with total page 201 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Mon Frère Yves is a semi-autobiographical novel written by the French author Pierre Loti. It describes the friendship between French naval officer Pierre Loti and a hard-drinking Breton sailor Yves Kermadec during the 1870s and 80s. It was probably Loti's best-known book. The fictional Yves was, in reality, Loti's friend, the Breton sailor Pierre le Cor, whom he had sailed with on a number of voyages. A functional illiterate, le Cor was, however, tall, fair, and handsome; everything Loti wanted to be. Like Yves, le Cor was a heavy drinker, while Loti hardly drank at all. The two often spent time ashore either gambling, brawling, scheming childish pranks, or roaming the countryside of Brittany where le Cor introduced Loti to the lore of the Breton culture. In Brittany, Loti met le Cor's mother, and swore to watch over her son forever, although le Cor's hard-drinking often tested the bonds of their friendship.

Book Organic Church

    Book Details:
  • Author : Neil Cole
  • Publisher : John Wiley & Sons
  • Release : 2007-06-15
  • ISBN : 0787997846
  • Pages : 275 pages

Download or read book Organic Church written by Neil Cole and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2007-06-15 with total page 275 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Churches have tried all kinds of ways to attract new and younger members - revised vision statements, hipper worship, contemporary music, livelier sermons, bigger and better auditoriums. But there are still so many people who aren't being reached, who don't want to come to church. And the truth is that attendance at church on Sundays does not necessarily transform lives; God's presence in our hearts is what changes us. Leaders and laypeople everywhere are realizing that they need new and more powerful ways to help them spread God's Word. According to international church starter and pastor Neil Cole, if we want to connect with young people and those who are not coming to church, we must go where people congregate. Cole shows readers how to plant the seeds of the Kingdom of God in the places where life happens and where culture is formed - restaurants, bars, coffeehouses, parks, locker rooms, and neighborhoods. Organic Church offers a hands-on guide for demystifying this new model of church and shows the practical aspects of implementing it.

Book Amazing Mysterious Stories

Download or read book Amazing Mysterious Stories written by Atina Amrahs and published by Mahesh Dutt Sharma. This book was released on 2023-12-13 with total page 189 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I am thrilled to present to you my latest work, a collection of mystery-suspense stories that I have poured my heart and soul into. As a writer who is deeply passionate about the mystery genre, I have always been fascinated by the complexities of human nature and the power of suspenseful storytelling. The stories in this book are a reflection of my love for the genre, and I have worked tirelessly to ensure that each one is a unique and thrilling experience for the reader. From the dark alleys of big cities to the remote corners of the countryside, the stories in this collection take the reader on a journey through the twisted minds of murderers, the devious schemes of criminals, and the desperate struggles of those who seek to bring them to justice. I have always believed that a good mystery story is not just about the plot, but also about the characters. The protagonists in these stories are a diverse cast of individuals, each with their own unique strengths, flaws, and motivations. As the stories unfold, you will find yourself rooting for them, sympathizing with them, and ultimately, experiencing their triumphs and defeats. One of the things I find most compelling about the mystery genre is its ability to explore the darker aspects of human nature. In this book, you will encounter characters who are driven by greed, revenge, and a thirst for power, as well as those who are struggling to overcome the traumas of their past. Through these characters, I hope to shed light on the complex, and often conflicting, forces that shape our lives. Writing these stories has been a labor of love, and I am deeply grateful to everyone who has supported me along the way. Whether you are a seasoned fan of the mystery genre or a newcomer, I hope that this collection will leave you on the edge of your seat, eager to discover what happens next.
