Book excerpt: As androids proliferate, become highly skilled, and become difficult to tell apart from humans, Mytown Mining, Inc. takes full advantage of the situation to secretly rise up from below and give those responsible for top secret plans in the United States Air Force all that it can handle in the remotest western skies. Meanwhile, the three members of the Braun family, Ben, Jenny, and Max, are plucked from their normal routine to participate voluntarily in the top secret plans along with a few others to battle the crooked corporation sometimes underground, but mostly in the air. Ben, the inventor and manufacturer of the Mindblower, a sleek electronic device that boosts memory and enhances mental acuity, disappears on a family hike in the rain forest. When Jenny, his wife and a traveling pharmaceutical sales representative, and Max, his teenage son, try to find him in Jenny’s small plane, they discover the USAF top secret facilities and its latest top secret aircraft and androids. Then as they and their friends continue their search for Ben, they find themselves fighting for their lives and for those humans and androids beside them until they discover much more about what really goes on between the military and the bad mining corporation and the future for both humans and androids. The Mindblower Androids is the second novel in a trilogy by Randall Edward Foss, beginning with The Mindblower Families. The story continues with The Mindblower Orbs, coming soon. Gradually, the recurring characters develop into greater importance as they are thrust deeper into the mysteries behind corporate control over the U.S. government and over energy economics. Mytown Mining, Inc., using android miners instead of human labor to dig deeper in remote regions first on earth and then in space for new energy reserves, must fight off both human and android heroes seeking to curtail its overbearing dominance threatening all human safety and freedom.

Book excerpt: The Braun family of Ben, Jenny, and Max, along with their friends, the United States Space Force, the CIA, and the President of the United States, all lead the way for freedom as they uncover the secret plans of the Mytown Corporation. As it expands and dominates energy markets, banking, and the flying-car industry in America, Mytown capitalizes on the slow-motion coup d'état of the U.S. government completed by corporate power earlier in the twenty-first century. As democracy declines and the country suffers financial hardship, heartache, and bloodshed, the growing fleet of USSF fighting spacecraft must protect the Earth, the Moon, and Mars. When the economy and its flying cars crash, Mytown only grows stronger by buying back its stock, driving up its market value and the wealth and power of its surreptitious owners. Then can anyone stop Mytown's steady frontier march as it skyrockets its horde of biologically enhanced androids and kidnapped humans in slave spaceships from the Earth to the Moon and Mars? In The Mindblower Orbs, the aim is to recognize, contain, and fight against the spread of inverted totalitarianism in this concluding saga of the Mindblower trilogy, beginning with The Mindblower Families and continuing with The Mindblower Androids. • Pages : 0 pages

Download or read book Mind Blower written by Marco Vassi and published by Vassi Collection. This book was released on 2014-08-26 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "The fact that the ad was in the Times and not one of the sex journals made its wording all the more seductive. Wanted. Sensitive male to serve as personal valet and assistant to master in arcane studies." When Michael answers a peculiar classified ad in New York, he senses he is in for a sexual adventure. What he does not expect is the Institute for Sexual Metatheater, a secretive, cloistered group controlled by the rotund Dr. Tocco. Upon stepping through its doors, Michael finds himself ensnared in a world of sexual experimentation far beyond anything he has managed on his own. Marco Vassi was, without a doubt, the foremost erotic writer of our generation. Praised by Norman Mailer, Kate Millett, Saul Bellow, and Gore Vidal, he was not only the ultimate sexual explorer, but a literary craftsman whose own life experiences became the stuff of his fiction-expanded, of course, by a grand imagination and a full sense of the absurd. Tragically, Vassi died from pneumonia after he had contracted AIDS.

With Windows 10, organizations can create a consistent set of configurations across the modern enterprise desktop—for PCs, tablets, and phones—through the common Mobile Device Management (MDM) layer. MDM gives organizations a way to configure settings that achieve their administrative intent without exposing every possible setting. One benefit of MDM is that it enables organizations to apply broader privacy, security, and application management settings through lighter and more efficient tools. MDM also allows organizations to target Internet-connected devices to manage policies without using Group Policy (GP) that requires on-premises domain-joined devices. This makes MDM the best choice for devices that are constantly on the go. With Microsoft making this shift to using Mobile Device Management (MDM), a cloud-based policy-management system, IT professionals need to know how to do similar tasks they do with Group Policy, but now using MDM, with its differences and pitfalls. What is MDM (and how is it different than GP) Setup Azure AD and MDM Auto-Enrollment New PC Rollouts and Remote Refreshes: Autopilot and Configuration Designer Enterprise State Roaming and OneDrive Documents Roaming Renowned expert and Microsoft Group Policy and Enterprise Mobility MVP Jeremy Moskowitz teaches you MDM fundamentals, essential troubleshooting techniques, and how to manage your enterprise desktops.

The Arctic Ice Cap has all but melted, and the international community is racing desperately to claim the massive amounts of oil beneath the newly accessible ocean. Enter the Gaia Corporation. Its two founders have come up with a plan to roll back global warming. Thousands of tiny mirrors floating in the air can create a giant sunshade, capable of redirecting heat and cooling the earth's surface. They plan to terraform Earth to save it from itself—but in doing so, they have created a superweapon the likes of which the world has never seen. Anika Duncan is an airship pilot for the underfunded United Nations Polar Guard. She's intent on capturing a smuggled nuclear weapon that has made it into the Polar Circle and bringing the smugglers to justice. Anika finds herself caught up in a plot by a cabal of military agencies and corporations who want Gaia Corporation stopped. But when Gaia Corp loses control of their superweapon, it will be Anika who has to decide the future of the world. The nuclear weapon she has risked her life to find is the only thing that can stop the floating sunshade after it falls into the wrong hands. Book The Years of Rice and Salt

Download or read book The Years of Rice and Salt written by Kim Stanley Robinson and published by Spectra. This book was released on 2003-06-03 with total page 777 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: With the same unique vision that brought his now classic Mars trilogy to vivid life, bestselling author Kim Stanley Robinson boldly imagines an alternate history of the last seven hundred years. In his grandest work yet, the acclaimed storyteller constructs a world vastly different from the one we know. . . . “A thoughtful, magisterial alternate history from one of science fiction’s most important writers.”—The New York Times Book Review It is the fourteenth century and one of the most apocalyptic events in human history is set to occur—the coming of the Black Death. History teaches us that a third of Europe’s population was destroyed. But what if the plague had killed 99 percent of the population instead? How would the world have changed? This is a look at the history that could have been—one that stretches across centuries, sees dynasties and nations rise and crumble, and spans horrible famine and magnificent innovation. Through the eyes of soldiers and kings, explorers and philosophers, slaves and scholars, Robinson navigates a world where Buddhism and Islam are the most influential and practiced religions, while Christianity is merely a historical footnote. Probing the most profound questions as only he can, Robinson shines his extraordinary light on the place of religion, culture, power—and even love—in this bold New World. “Exceptional and engrossing.”—New York Post “Ambitious . . . ingenious.”—Newsday
